Nice job! What depth of water do people target up there? I understand deep water is closer to shore?

Had some friends drive out last minute from the east side of the state last night so we could go fishing this morning. Fished 105 to 140 fow, pretty much straight out and south of of the piers. Started 1-6 on the morning losing a number of very large and energetic fish, and we're feeling disappointed for a bit, but the fish kept biting all day for us. We ended up 11-17, 8 kings and 3 lake trout. North and south trolls both good, but south was a touch better. 2.3-3.0 at the ball as the waves were making speed control difficult. Had another good morning on the water. Lines in shortly after 6 am and fished until 11:30 am. Went 9 for 14 with 6 nice kings in the box, biggest at 22 lbs. Released 2 lakers and kept 1. Lost too many fish again, but that's how it goes sometimes. Started the morning in 100 fow a bit north of the piers and worked out WNW / WSW trolls. Got a fish and some good hits early in 120-140 fow, and then nothing until we turned around in 190 fow. Trolled back in to 145 and things started popping. Spent the rest of the morning in 130-145 fow. Best troll speed was 2.8-3.0 at the ball, with a north troll, but south troll also got bit. What worked: 0-1 Rigger down 45 feet, mag double glo sided spoon 2-2 300 Copper, Silver Streak Mag Blue Dolphin 0-1 Size 3 Dipsy back 120, white spin doctor and proctologist fly 2-4 Size 3 Dipsy back 170-185, white spin doctor and proctologist fly 1-1 Rigger fixed slider at 80 ft, raspberry dolphin superslim 1-1 Rigger ball at 77 free slider, standard size RV flounder pounder 1-2 Size 3 Dipsy back 204, Pro King Charlie's Special paddle and mirage fly 1-1 Slide diver on 4 back 240, green spindoctor and meat rig 1-1 Rigger down 135 feet, tranny superslim (black w/ green dolphin tape) Tight Lines.

Nice job. The fish tore us up this morning. Lost too many. But we still got 11. Release a small laker and small king. I stopped by Lakeshore tackle to replace several damaged spoons. Pretty much stayed right in 110 fow.

Got out tonight and setup in 110 a few miles south of the pier heads. Started getting fish right away. Went 11-11 releasing a small lake trout. Best troll was south/south west. Had to keep turning the boat to get hits so bumped the speed up to 3.0 on the fish hawk. What worked: 4-4 - 300 copper silver streak mag blue dolphin 2-2 - 350? copper pro king 8" paddle - mt dew tape and yellow fly 2-2 - wire diver back 170 - green/blue spinny and meat 1-1 - wire diver back 120 - pro king 8" paddle - chrome/green with green/white fly 1-1 - downrigger with uv 11" paddle and green white fly 1-1 - slide diver back 120 with mixed veggie color mag moonshine flounder pattern (unsure of name) 3 fish over 20 lbs, average weight probably about 17 lbs. Get out there and go get em!

Might have to rethink my plan for tomorrow morning!

Nice job. Went out of South Haven for a few hours tonight, but couldn't find anything... except trout of course.

Good day aboard the King Possible today. Final tally 20 for 22. Ended up with 9 lake trout and 6 coho in the cooler. Fished the morning from 7 am until 12 pm in 70 fow catching 9 lake trout and 1 coho. Divers occasionally touching bottom with spin doctors and flies (whites,yellows, greens) was the ticket. Had 3 lines in for lake trout and 6 rods for kings, but the kings weren't around or weren't interested. After bagging our laker limit, we ran to 150 and pointed the boat on a NW. Hit 175 and started getting fish. Got several more lakers and also quickly hit our 3 man limit by adding 5 coho. Chrome uv paddles with mirage flies on the wire divers back 200-250 were hottest, but 100,150,200 copper also took fish. Best fish was an 8 lb coho. Thought it was a king at first. Best speed all day was 2.7-3.2 mph. Speed changes triggered many strikes.
