  1. Steve No one home or did you let farmer Larry grab the rod? :D Fished St Joe with Wayne 9Midway) and his buddy Harv from work along with Justin(I think that was his name) who was also fishing the tourney. We only boated 1 fish, a 2.2 lb brown not long after setting lines and never had another bump. We didnot head to deeper water, stayed inside of 55 ft. We threw everthing but the sink and couldn't get anything to go. The one we got came off the rigger with a green meany, thats what Wayne called it, don't know the depth or how far back so Wayne will have to fill in the details.
  2. Springport, Michigan. About the center of the state about 30 miles south and a little west of Lansing. West coast or east coast, it's still about a 2 hour drive.

  10. Welcome aboard Spanky. Your insight and expertice will be an asset around here.
  11. What lb test do you guys use between a dipsey and fish catcher or dodger? A few years ago we were on a charter and the captian was running 25 or 30 lb main line but a 40 lb leader between fish catchers and main line to keep the twist out of the line.Even ran the rigger rods this way. Just wondered what your thoughts are on it, I have fished with several of you guys but never paid attention to the weight of leaders you ran. I have a spool of 30lb line that I was going to tie some leaders out of and wondered if it was to light.
  12. Welcome to the site Shades.
  13. Looks like a beared hen to me GLF. Can't wait till the first of May for the 234 hunt to start.
  14. Matt I had an old boat running an i/o that used the same type of steerins system. Mine froze up after seting all winter, the trouble was at the motor end. Trouble is there is no way to lube the thing. I ended up cutting the cable apart, cleaning things up and had the end of the cable welded back on. It still works today but I wouldn't recommend doing it that way.
