Went out this morning before light, started setting up at 80FOW. Worked out to 170 with nothing. As it started getting light, we headed south. worked that 170 to 200 most of the day. Water temp at the surface was 56, down 85 it was 55.2 no matter where we went. About the time we turned south it all started. By the time we had a second to look around, there were only two lines left in the water. As it was pretty bumpy, we only ran 8 lines, 4 on the riggers, 4 dipsy divers. Here is what worked, anything we had on a pole, EVERY pole took at least one fish. Paddles and flies, spoons and meat. White and green flies, green, white and red spoons. It was a great morning, my daughter was able to catch three, including a great steelhead!! That is what its all about. Ended the morning 11 for 13, Steelhead, kings, laker and a Brown, really wanted that coho for the slam!! The odd part was, we NEVER saw another boat on the lake, we quit at 11:15. It is kind of nice to have the whole lake to yourself, but as good as the fishing is, I was kind of shocked.

Went out this morning, set lines in 100FOW. Forgot the meat at home, so all spoons and flies. Trolled from 100 to 250 turned back made a couple loops outside of 140 and headed back in, pulled lines at 100. Kings early, steelhead later. 7 for 10. 4 of the fish came on a bluish green fly made by Charger. That fly has caught us so many fish we may have to retire it before it is completely destroyed!! Red headed moonshine got smashed a couple of times, got off. 225Cu took a couple, 150 copper took the other. Slim and smaller spoons did pretty well. It was a beautiful day, the lake was really busy for this late in the year. Some people still have not learned how to drive, you would think in 200FOW people would not have issues, think again. All in all a great trip, all three kids got to reel in their fish and they had a blast!

After spending Saturday and Sunday out on the lake, Here is what i have to report. Save your gas, save your $$, stay home. Based on what we found, and what we heard on the radio, and reports from the cleaning station, there is not much going on. No one was catching enough to make it worthwhile. Sorry. I had much higher hopes for the weekend, the good news was i didn't have to watch either of the michigan teams choke.

They will bury the 44's too. Had it happen Sunday, last Sunday too. The big ones will do it. Not much you can do, feed it some line and try to get it back up, slow the boat down and hope.

We fish a 37' boat and use gimbal mounts. Went and talked to a friend that charters Saturday, gimbal mounts. They work perfect, when we are done, pull em out, canvas goes on as it should with nothing in the way. When we go swimming there is not fishing equipment in the way, the kids can jump off anywhere and there is no worry of them hurting themselves on it, or messing the equipment up

Went out deep friday morning. Chrome and Blue J-Plugs, couldn't keep them in the water. Flies and paddles solid, Moonglow spoons great early, Meat was dead. 12 for 18 Saturday, go out and run the same exact set up in the same exact depths, we struggled to 2 for 5. Apparently we need to pay more attention to the water temps and the affects of the winds. Sunday, get a little direction from a friend. Stayed in tighter, ran plugs, moonglows, paddles and flies, no meat. Took over an hour and a half to get the lines set. Everything was going, moonglows went first, paddles and flies and plugs followed. We had a slight issue with getting them to the boat however. I see a couple of other posts that had the same issues, not sure why, the hooks were sharp!!! Ended 9 for 21, 7 kings and 2 steelhead. One king was 19 another was 18. Great weekend.
