  1. Wishin I was with you, I like the Monroe area. Good luck with the launch and fishin.
  2. Rod past away early Sunday morning from what we believe to be a massive heart attack. He was a great friend and was the person that would do anything for another. He donated his time, boat, and fishing skills to many Child Wish outings. I personally spent the previous week with him and friends fishing walleyes on Lake Erie. I feel privileged to have spent so much time with him before this tragedy. He leaves behind a wife, son (16), and daughter (14). As some of you know, he was in the middle of replacing the transom and power in his SeaCraft. All of the parts are there and a few of us will be finishing this for his family this summer. Hopefully his son will be able to enjoy the boat in the years to come. If any of you have any further questions please feel free to PM me. Otherwise, please visit the link below for details about the service. It should be updated later this afternoon. www.hartquistfuneral.com/obituaries/Rodney-Mccormick/#!/ObitAndService I copied and pasted from another site, thought I would share here.
  3. I pushed a 20' 73 Sea Ray with a 83 7.5 Honda mounted on the outdrive for 22 years. When the wind/waves got to much for the kicker to handle it was high time to to get off anyhow.
  4. 20# Trilene big game works just fine for what we have in Lake Michigan.

  8. Thanks for the report, makes the shoulder surgery rehab a little less painful as I drool over the pics.
  9. Some bait shops sell a small stone about 1/4x1x3..use it as a wet stone. AS previously posted "" light "" pressure, a few strokes on each side and it will stick in your thumb:rolleyes: nail:D
  10. Dealer bought on auction, no details = scary unknown I would lean to the hard top..I had a bimini and my new ride is a HT.. I would never go back
  11. A friend of mine had built one for his old boat ( sorry no pics ). What he did was remove the seat from the metal base plate. He then attached a piece of 1/2 plywood about a foot square.Next attached some trim wood around the perimeter to create a box effect.(used as a work station/next baits to go out/pliers etc.) In the center he had a coupling that he would out in a piece of 1 1/2 inch pvc with a t on top that held a pair if lights when he needed them. Just had a wire with a plug for the 12V accessory outlet on the dash. He also had 10 or 12 pole holders around the outside of this as well. He used pvc again keeping the top flush with the trim wood.He had one screw that went thru the trim into the plywood and then used an angle bracket underneath to support the pvc down the tube a little. Looked a little clumsy when loaded but worked really well.
  12. Very nice addition. Thumbs up for that decision.

  15. I'll second what Ryan said, I got my Garmin through Frank and Ryan. Very very satisfied.
  16. Managed to scratch one off my list this past Thursday as I tagged a Marlin of the coast of Cabo. Also bagged a Tuna and a bunch of Dorado.
  17. I'll throw my .02 in and recommend you talk to Frank at Calumet marine looking at a Garmin. I have a 740S w airmarP66 transducer from him and couldn't be happier. Best price at the time as well.
  18. I'm a believer in Salty Balls(shaped like a fish). Much less costly and work ,I think ,better then a shark. I really liked my ridgeback till the fish god claimed it.
  19. Very impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Just make sure you mount the coastal spreader where it won't get bumped. Bracket strength leaves a little to be desired. Good machinist friend made a new mounting brkt. out of aluminum and a little jb weld fixed the one on the light.
  21. Congrats on a successful harvest.
  22. For me and a few other fellow fishermen out of Port Washington,WI had a tough bite most of June but once we found them it was just as good as last year for numbers plus the size was up. The mix of specie was a little different but nice catches of quality fish. All my bigger kings came from 280 plus feet of water where 2 years ago I seldom fished past 80 fow.
  23. Still there as a coffee shop and the fishermen with the sturgeon on his back is still atop the building:grin:.
  24. Most bait I marked all year. Inside 0f 40' it was solid from 20 to bottom after sun got up a little. In the dark the bait humps on the bottom all most never left the screen, 38 to 50 fow. Close to a 3 mile troll.. Its amazing to even catch one with all that bait.
