  4. Thanks for the report, makes the shoulder surgery rehab a little less painful as I drool over the pics.
  5. Some bait shops sell a small stone about 1/4x1x3..use it as a wet stone. AS previously posted "" light "" pressure, a few strokes on each side and it will stick in your thumb:rolleyes: nail:D
  6. Dealer bought on auction, no details = scary unknown I would lean to the hard top..I had a bimini and my new ride is a HT.. I would never go back
  7. A friend of mine had built one for his old boat ( sorry no pics ). What he did was remove the seat from the metal base plate. He then attached a piece of 1/2 plywood about a foot square.Next attached some trim wood around the perimeter to create a box effect.(used as a work station/next baits to go out/pliers etc.) In the center he had a coupling that he would out in a piece of 1 1/2 inch pvc with a t on top that held a pair if lights when he needed them. Just had a wire with a plug for the 12V accessory outlet on the dash. He also had 10 or 12 pole holders around the outside of this as well. He used pvc again keeping the top flush with the trim wood.He had one screw that went thru the trim into the plywood and then used an angle bracket underneath to support the pvc down the tube a little. Looked a little clumsy when loaded but worked really well.
  8. Very nice addition. Thumbs up for that decision.

  11. I'll second what Ryan said, I got my Garmin through Frank and Ryan. Very very satisfied.
  12. Managed to scratch one off my list this past Thursday as I tagged a Marlin of the coast of Cabo. Also bagged a Tuna and a bunch of Dorado.
  13. I'll throw my .02 in and recommend you talk to Frank at Calumet marine looking at a Garmin. I have a 740S w airmarP66 transducer from him and couldn't be happier. Best price at the time as well.
  14. I'm a believer in Salty Balls(shaped like a fish). Much less costly and work ,I think ,better then a shark. I really liked my ridgeback till the fish god claimed it.
  15. Very impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Just make sure you mount the coastal spreader where it won't get bumped. Bracket strength leaves a little to be desired. Good machinist friend made a new mounting brkt. out of aluminum and a little jb weld fixed the one on the light.
  17. Congrats on a successful harvest.
  18. For me and a few other fellow fishermen out of Port Washington,WI had a tough bite most of June but once we found them it was just as good as last year for numbers plus the size was up. The mix of specie was a little different but nice catches of quality fish. All my bigger kings came from 280 plus feet of water where 2 years ago I seldom fished past 80 fow.
  19. Still there as a coffee shop and the fishermen with the sturgeon on his back is still atop the building:grin:.
  20. Most bait I marked all year. Inside 0f 40' it was solid from 20 to bottom after sun got up a little. In the dark the bait humps on the bottom all most never left the screen, 38 to 50 fow. Close to a 3 mile troll.. Its amazing to even catch one with all that bait.
  21. Once i left the 120 ish water per some thank full info on the radio:grin: and trolled into the 50 foot band it went rigger><>rigger><> dypsy ><>rigger and the fun began. Nothing like a phone ringing in the pocket(awesome fish call GB) :thumb:and a quad to start the fun fest. Long story short><> pro king 87 on a 2 color no1 rigger PINK ALEWIFE (just for RE lay) on the center rigger clean mono and pro king 88 on the no3 rigger with a 3 color swr. Happy meal out 90 on the dypsy and a couple git r done super slims on the boards went mid 20 ish for about 30. Caught fish from 6 inches( musta past through the nursery) to 11 lbs. We brought 12 home, a mix of kings and browns. What a great morning on a GREAT lake, light westerly breeze and bouncing rigger rods.
  22. Are you looking for ones that bolt into the ball baby?
  23. I would arm wrestle for a chance like that but I'm on da udder side of da lake.
  24. Ewig Bros is the place to go for the specialty smoked fish products. You will be impressed with the new park going in where the coal pile used to be.
  25. Smith bros is now a coffee shop and Newport is still very nice. Went back with the wife today, hit the deep water at noon and took a 10 fish limit on the 6 colr bn rv and pearl coyote w/ bull frog down 51...=ran the same track, surface was up 10 degrees but fish were still there.....sweeeeeeeeet ><>
