  1. Great article Jim, I didn't know you were a writer! Thanks for sharing!
  2. One tell tale sign is if you see the boat in question running inline boards. If they are running full cores then you will need to stay at least 100+ yards behind them. Some run more than that. You will get the mentioned gestures regaurdless!
  3. Nice job Baydawg, those spring Kings will make some very impressive runs! I also hope Huron comes back!
  4. Nice job Baydawg! Those spring Kings will make some big runs and that is impressive when they do! I hope Huron comes back too!
  5. I believe it is accross the lake Rich, Illinois/Wissconsin area. Good job Rockfish!
  6. I am not familure with it.
  7. Good deal Matt! Thats not too bad for mid April! Nice Brownie! Rick
  8. Well I did get a couple fellas to ride along this morning but they made me change ports, which didn't actually take much! Jimmy the Sixshooter, Larry the Trout Tracker and I hit the water right about daylight and fished untill 1:00. We worked the shoreline and were rewarded with some nice fish! Four browns were taken and we missed no fish! They hit spoons and stick baits in the traditional fashion for spring time fishing in West Michigan. The water temp was 47* and had a stain to it that was a suprise to see. As always it was a pleasure to have these two aboard for the day! Thanks guy's! Rick
  9. Good job fellas, nice day to go fishing!
  10. Brian, I keep my boat at an idle most all of the time, that puts me right at 2 mph ground speed give or take. Sometimes going against the wind and waves it needs to be kicked up a notch. Seems like on flat water if I bump it up just a tick it helps. Rick
  11. You could be on to something there Matt!
  12. 20 lb Maxima snuber to spinny or spoon.
  13. Those things sure seem attracted to you Jimmy!
  14. Fished this morning from first light untill 11:30. Had a co-worker on board for the day. We went 2 for 3 with 1 nice 4 lb Brown and a 3 lb Coho. The Brown came on a gold/black J11 rapala and the Coho came on a spoon above a deep down husky jerk set up on a three way rig. Nice morning on the water, temp was 42 give or take except where the warm plume from the bubbler was. Found some 46* water there. Thanks for going along Brad! Rick
  15. Haven't seen anything about the sale recently but I was down there a week ago and one of the docks were in.
  16. I remember you two standing in the back of a boat also! Julianne and I also share the love of fishing, I love it when I go and she loves it when I get back! Hehe....just kidding dear! Rick
  17. Upper 40's but I think I read somewhere that the fish liked 50* water. Rick
  18. Good deal! I think you made the right call staying in close. Still a bit early and cold to find many fish out deeper but it is not far off! Rick
  19. I would like to fish it but didn't make the plans ahead of time. I guess I didn't even realize it was going on.
  20. Not that familure with South Havens port as far as what is available for weigh in festivities.
  21. Seems like a good price, are they in good working order?
  22. I find the thremocline fish are more agressive when the warmer weather comes in. When I find a t-cline I like to put one just above, one just below and then try to get everything else in between somewhere. Rick
  23. Not bad at all for an evening after work. Nice job! Rick
  24. Baydawg, Try staying closer to shore. 20 fow or less. Keep your spinnies/flies in your box and run stickbaits on boards with spoons on the riggers. Keep the riggers close to bottom. when they bounce on a bar raise it up a foot or two. Try a couple natural pattern spoons. Also try an orange J-11 rapala or a mustard thunderstick. These should help to find that Brownie for you! Good luck! Rick
