Hey joe, There's a local spoon company out of Holland called Big Lake Lures. I fish almost exclusively BLL spoons on my boat with the exception of a few Silver streak mags and mini streaks. I know quite a few other guys that fish BLL as well like Killin' it and Bendin' Rods. We've found that they just hold up better to the abuse that those kings put them through, fish after fish after fish. If you've got any questions on specific colors feel free to shoot me a message I'd love to help you out. In the meantime, check out his website www.biglakelures.com Tight lines! Here's a nice 13lb laker we took on BLL green/yellow frozen toad a few weeks ago. This spoon has been HOT on a 5 color for the past month. Taking multiple fish every trip. -

A great weekend it was, thanks for the good times as usual Dave. You forgot my 2 big catches of the weekend tho...a battery strap on a rigger set 45 down and a piece of drift wood on an outside board set 400' behind the boat. -
Was working for me the other night.

Had a blast again terry, thanks for the invite. I just finished editing the video from yesterday's trip. I'll put it on Facebook in a few. Thanks again! -

Thanks for the trip terry! Definitely lots of fun with lots of laughs, and we were sober! I'd call it a successful shakedown trip! Anytime you need an extra rider, let me know! -
I bought my trees from fish on sports. They're completely adjustable and work great for lead or copper. They're on sale right now for $185 each I believe.

Well, after about 2 hours on friday and an hour today I have finally released the hitch! I ended up heating the receiver up with a MAP torch and tied off to a tree with my strap and pulled tight to get some tension, then beat it with the blunt side of a maul for about 30 minutes and it finally broke free. I'll chalk this up as a lesson learned and grease the new hitch up good and take it out in the winter! Thanks again for all your help guys!
-
Thanks again for the replies guys! I'm hoping I'll be able to break it loose this weekend after some work on it. Worst case scenario I'll change the coupler on the trailer to match the hitch size if I can't loosen it. Thanks again for the info and ideas!

Thank for the replies guys. Mapp gas was going to be my next attempt. Heat the receiver and then try to quickly cool the shank to hopefully break the seizure. If that doesn't work I'll try to pull it out with a strap and tree. I just worry about the bolts breaking off the frame on the receiver at that point. I guess I know what I'll spend my Saturday doing.

Any tips on getting out a trailer hitch thats seized in the receiver?? I've used PB blast and tried beating it with a sledge with no luck. Would a small propane torch work to heat it up enough?

Changing downrigger releases, what's your favorite?

Interested in the okuma classic 300l. The one I bought from you last year fell apart after the 3rd trip out. -
Just looked it up, it's working now. Thanks again for the update, Chad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's shallow and lotta weeds! I wrecked my lower unit there this summer. I know this has nothing to do with the report that you're asking for, but I needed to vent my frustration towards that lake. Good luck!
