  1. 1 ramp is in at both launch sites. They are pushed in deeper because of the shallower water. Both lakes are free of ice. Sent from my Z5156CC using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  2. Yes, definitely a bulk carrier. Wind and waves have still been terrible (3-4ft) waves. I've been able to fish around the pier heads, but very few marks and no bites even using some golden shiners and various non baited jigging spoons. Lots of perch marks in mac. Haven't caught a walleye in mac this year. One ramp is still in. Water temp was 43° two days ago. Typical perch caught while jigging 8" Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  3. Wow that wave forecast was off today by 3ft. My boat was soaked from the bow to the helm. No bites today. Marked lots of fish and bait. Could not get one taker. Lake temp was 55 top to bottom in 100-150 fow. Lake Mac was 49.9. I caught this freighter backing out of the harbor when I headed in, 1st time I've seen that, I don't know if he couldn't get in because of the wind problem or he just backed out entirely after his port call? Question: Does anyone know what muskegon lake's water temperature is now? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  4. Fyi... The DNR has pulled 2 of the ramps and closed off the big parking lot across the street from the launch site. I suspect they pulled 2 of the ramps out of PS also, but I haven't verified it. The big lake has all cold water now. The last blast from the rain and wind storms did the job. 5. Fished solo 10am-1pm. 1 for 9, alot of hits but none holding on. 130-160 fow. 4-5 ft swells but do able with low winds. Thermocline was at 125-130 fow. I thought my releases were being tripped by the rolling waves but it wasn't the case. The hits were right at the 60.1 ° ball temp. Lots of bait and big fish marks swimming in and out of the thermocline. Caught a small but tasty king at 125 down in a 150fow. barely over 2# at 11:25am on a downrigger with a blue glow uv flounder pounder. Fyi ..The cleaning station is closed also. 6. Fished 130-150 fow, 2 for 4, a 9# steelhead (happee meal in 136fow 100ft down) and throwback king( flounder pounder ). Had to stack 2 poles on one rigger to get to the cold water and let the other one carry my fishhawk and lure. Fish were just not hitting my deep diver. Beautiful day on the lake. Fishing solo as usual. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  7. The unit is a 12 volt, 55lb thrust, 54" shaft, with a US2 universal sonar Minnkota Terrova trolling motor. It includes a foot pedal, hand held I-pilot link remote, charging cord, 40 amp breaker, recepticle and plug. Unit is in excellent condition. A great system with plenty of torque and shaft length for boats 17ft or smaller and only requires space for one battery. If your in the area I can help you install it. Price $1300. Holland, Michigan Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App This item has been sold. Thanks for looking.

  8. I was the only one out that I could see fishing. There squadrons of 40-50ft cruisers coming from Chicago. They came by me and turned 0-1ft waves into 3-4 chop for short times. I was hoping to catch some other species, but at least I didn't catch the skunk! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  9. Fished from 9-11:30. Late start, went 1/1 today, 6.8# laketrout, on Craigs flounder std, with 7c, in 85 fow, no other bites. Fished from front of piers to 105 fow. Marked a lot at pier heads, but no takers. Nice to get out after all this bad weather. I followed a mile long scum line, weaving in a out. Fish were from the surface to 45 down the entire length. When i caught the LT, I saw my board trailing the boat sideways( broadbeam) but not releasing and then it just stopped acting like a snow plow. I pulled in the board and didn't really feel anything. After cranking in alot more I finally got some pull back. I hooked him well. Once on board he beat himself up in the cooler. The currents were crossing each other effecting my trolling speed alot. I went from 2.5 to 3.0 to 1.7 many times todays. Wind picked up as I was leaving. Not to many days left now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

  14. I remember. You did well. Rough day out there. I gave my fish eggs to one of the guys there. They were quite large. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  15. When I looked back and saw my rod tip go up, I noticed my line wasn't behind the boat but far to the outside of my 230 cu. So I carefully maneuvered the fish under the cu rod line which was further back. The fish still caught half of the copper line and I had a little bit of a tangle in my net which I cleared once I got the fish on board. The hook fell out of her mouth when she hit the deck. When I netted the fish I used the transom as a fulcrum for balance until I could get better handle on it to pull the fish in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  16. Normally I don't fish the weekends and I knew the wind was going to produce a 3 ft chop by just reading the bouy information. So like any good fisherman would say, the weather is "perfect." GOT TO GO! I put my order in for a large king to be picked up at 8:55 am in 99 fow. Promptly launched my boat headed out and picked it up at the Lake Michigan drive thru window. One 23lb-6oz 37" long king (personal solo best) on Craig's flounder, 50ft down, 60 ft back on rigger, east troll, 2.5sog, ball temp 48, surface temp 68. 1 for 1. The waves were quite choppy. But I left a tip. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  17. Nice birthday present. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  18. Great catch! Were the hits mostly on riggers? Divers? Planar board lines? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  19. 2 for 3, 10.3# king, 11.9# steelhead. Fished 140-200. Rigger with yellow submarine Mag spoon, bk 60, down 60, east troll, 2.4 sog in 145 fow took king. Ball temp 49.9. 270 cu with dragon slayer SD and blue green fly ( homemade-called salmon treat) took steelie in 172 fow. Lost big one on rigger, taking my 2 spoons and bending rod holder to 40 degree angle. Guess I'll be tightening some bolts. Beautiful sunset. Hosted member Irn, had a good time. 20. Nice catch Scott, especially under the conditions. Hopefully the forecast won't be so far off next time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  21. Terrible 3 foot chop on the lake, made fishing very difficult. Fished 180-220. 2 for 2, 2 steelhead, 8.2# and 9.18#, both caught on riggers, 40-50 ft down in 194 & 200 fow, at 7:30am and 7:43am, nw troll 2.4 sog, ball temp 47-48.1. One on blue jackal 70 back other on moonshine moonshine 60 back. Found them in a column of 3 degree water temp change down 50ft. It was almost like a tornado funnel of temperature. 22. Original yellow submarine. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  23. I had a great time out there today. The original moonshine spoon is called the "Yellow Submarine" and glows green. Another version is the "Blue Jackal" glows blue. If you have one that looks like a two tone it is a "Moonshine Moonshine". Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  24. Fishoak looks better with todays catch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
