Punched 2 man ticket but had to move allot. 3/4 oz antifreeze jig with shiner minnow (plastic). Largest 9#-14oz. Males were running 19-23". Lots of boats out and anxious moments at the launch. Be COOL this weekend. Most of the ladies have spawned out. Catching more males now. Good luck. I don't fish weekends or holidays. May the force be with you? LB

Had a great day. Thought we had our ticket, but my partner miss counted. 14+ 1 coho?/steel head, what a surprise! I guess we need a better counting system. Biggest was 9.14#. We didn't have enough room in our cooler, which probably added to the problem. We even took the food and water out of the other cooler and filled it up with more fish...Such a problem one should have. My partners are still shy about being in the pictures. No live bait used. Line was freezing in guides. 3/4 oz. antifreeze with orange top jig and regular looking plastic minnow. LB

Quite a crowd out there today. All the ice is gone, but lots of sticks and stuff floating down the river. Got 10 today +2 perch with 3 guys (4-4-2) Biggest was 9 1/2 lbs. 29". Bite died off around 9:30. Watermelon WW with antifreeze jig. Everything using live minnows might have gotten more. I don't even want to be near this place this coming weekend. The perch hit the jigs just as hard as the walleye. I couldn't believe it. The bite has slowed a little since Weds. Good luck, LB

Punched a two man limit on the river yesterday. Great weather and the ice finally moved to the Canadian side The biggest was 9 1/2 lbs, 29 1/2". The smallest 3.7 lbs 22". The rest were between 7-8.6 lbs. It was like pulling up logs. When you thought you were caught on a snag, it was really a walleye. They don't really struggle when they are so large. Much different then the salmon and steel head that I caught off Holland last year. Used 3/4 oz jig (fire tiger) with a fin-s minnow pick your favorite. Also caught a small spotted muskie and released. A larger something hit my jig hard and took it to the front of the boat and I wasn't able to pull it up, before it spit it out. LB

No longer for sale. -
Intellitroll Speed N Temp System: Display, RF antenna, power cord, (3) coated reels (2) new of cable approx 200ft each, (2) probes. Excellent condition, used it for 2 years. For sale $400 plus shipping. Going wireless on my next boat. System original cost with one probe was $549, each probe normally run $300, coated cable runs $25-30 a piece. Antenna placement and connection are critical for proper operation otherwise you will get intermittent readings at depths greater then 75-87 feet.

It should work, email Ironwood who makes them and ask. Is your drive area flat enough to mount one? Do you have a transom overhang on your boat that will not blocking the release by the cord of the plate? I have one on my outboard which works great. I bought one for my mercruiser, but the new outdrive has a slightly curved surface so now I just keep it as a spare in case I damage my old one. They work great by the way. I have the wing attachment on it also.

Where is a good place to store a 27' boat on a trailer in Holland. I would like to have it handy enough and reasonable $ to pick up and launch at the DNR launch on the northside of Lake Macatawa? LB

The waves were suppose to be <1'. I was on the wrong lake evidently. Headed out the harbor for our last trip before we pull the boat home. We got 3ft chop when you got out to 80' and it seemed to be picking up. We went SW and south several miles, but no bites. Headed back north in 75'-65-50', quit a couple of miles north of the harbor. Marked a few fish but that as all. Good luck to everyone with their fall fishing. We will be back year. Water temp was 48 at 70' LB

Started the channel troll with a j-plug, crankbait and spoon, just to see who was home... No one. Headed out to the lake turned south to try and catch some brown trout. Changed the lures to SD and flies, different spoons etc. .....nothing .....water was 65 on the surface, sort of the edge of the Brown trout thermal. Headed out to deeper water 74' and completed a turn going north with a skunk following us.. BANG a 200 copper goes with a blue splatter back J-Plug on a board. North troll @2.6 gps. A 7.5 # Lake trout male. Might be the only catch this week considering the weather forecast. LB

Tough breaks but thanks for the information, been there know the feeling. LB -
Those waves were NOT 1-2 ft. Coming out of the harbor we were in 3-4 swells. Headed out to 130' nw troll @2.8 gps speed lost one on a 250 copper w/ghost jplug 20 ft from boat bringing it in. NEXT was a dipsy diver w/green meat rig 150 back setting 2, on 2.3 mph gps in 180' ...caught (1) 16.6 lbs king. The waves were 5-6 swells at that time, lucky none were capping, but the flys were terrible and my 1st mate was not pleased being eaten by the flys. So the mighty Littleboat turned and headed in. LB
