I hate to waste money I have had a lot of different reels ove the last 40 years of fishing lake michigan I never wanted to spend the extra money on the Shamano reels but any more i have learned the hard way. They cost more up front and last a lot longer in the end cost less certainly i dont hear much that actually works better i have some reels that work better aftre the first year when the draggs are properly broke in other reels are jsut as good or even better for a while time tiells the story on quality costruction If a reels need to be rebuilt after a couple years all of a sudden the savings of a just as good less expensive reels are gone There are going to be some exceptions to all of this for example although i have some diawa 47h reels rebuilt one time after 15 years of hard use these today are still as good as any reel on the boat other than cleaning and lube the last ten years i have yet to need to have a shamano tekota rebuilt can not say the same for a list of others long story short version pay a little extra for the shamano reels in the long run you will not regret it just my 00.02

the base price on the boat alone is only 26500.00 or there about lot of guys think these are very expensive boat THIS IS JUST NOT TRUE but take a look at this spread sheet there are some mistakes on this spread sheet that was fixed later but this is all i have rite now that i can post it gives you the general idea on cost Here is the spread sheet on one kind of loaded up that just went out the door this will give you a good idea of where they are in the food chain (not the boat in the pictures) same model but the one in the pictures was our demo boat till last year some of these prices have gone up slightly as of this post what this does not do is give you a good idea of just how big a 22' boat these are can you inagine fishing 6 grown guys comfortably in a 22' boat and still room for some big fish i did it my self lots of times you have to see it to belive it get your free no obligation sea trial SOON! IN ALASKA ONE OUT OF TWO REGISTERED/PRIVATELY OWNED FISHING BOATS ARE HEWES CRAFT IN ADDITION TO A LOT OF CHARTER FISHING BOATS THAT ARE HEWES CRAFTS THERE IS A LOT OF BOATS UP THERE AND A LOT OF FISHING GOING ON WHERE A CALL TO THE COAST GUARD OFTEN TAKES DAYS TO RESPOND TO THESE BOATS ARE VERY UTILITARIAN ALMOST MILITARY SAFETY AND FUNCTIONALITY WHERE AT THE TOP OF THE CRITERIA IN DESIGN NOT FOR EVERY ONE BRAND NEW BOAT MOTOR AND TRAILER UNDER 100K MODESTLY EQUIPPED THIS ONE JUST HAS A BUNCH OF EXPENSIVE UP TO DATE STATE OF THE ART RIGGING ON IT THE BIGGEST MOTORS A GUY COULD PUT ON THERE NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED SOME THING A HARD CORE GREAT LAKES FISHERMAN MANY JUST HAVE TO SEE AND RIDE IN TO APPRECIATE ANY ONE IN THE MARKET SEA TRIALS ARE AVAILABLE WANT THE PRICE DOWN? WE CAN RE RIG THIS ONE TO MATCH YOUR BUDGET WITH IN REASON OF COURSE THESE BOAT WILL NEVER OR NEVER HAS WANTED TO BE ANY THING BUT THE SAFE FUNCTIONAL AFFORDABLE FISHING MACHINES SOME GUYS NEED THE WOW EFFECT OF A CHEAP PRICE THAT DON'T MEAN MUCH WHEN YOU CONSIDER ALL THE COST IN OWNING AND OPERATING A BOAT LIKE THE BASE PRICE OF THIS BOAT NEW IN 2011 IS $ 58,600.00 for a 26' cabin 28' hull with 1/4' plate bottom some might wow over this number but the truth is a lot more goes into it than the base price and if you really calculated it properly you have to figure in all the rest especially what it cost to operate transport store keep clean and a huge difference what it worth when eventually you want to resell it divided by the hours you got to use it Then you will have the true value/expense of having fun fishing DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANY ONE? I HOPE SO BUT SO DOES FISHING MAKE GOOD SENSE TO ME lol THE FISH ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE CHEAPER IN THE SUPERMARKET BUT NOT NEARLY AS FUN TO BRING HOME -
Nick I cut my teeth fishing on lake macatawa my aunt and uncle used to live rite on the lake there i spent a lot of mornings early spring perch fishing the channel markers on mack be great to get back out in that area thanks frank

Few and far between they are but this one may be well worth the time and money it takes to make it sea worthy again 1989 sea ox 21' WALK AROUND 4.3 motor pickeled and winterized by me good condition omc cobra drive goood floors and transon no visable rot or deteriation some vintage electonics included NO TRAILER although new non currents and used trailers may be available can deliver gas is at least 4 years old we ran the motor just recently to check it out ona portable tank and rewinterized it throttle and shif cables stiff should be replaced out drive just need to be reinstalled this one has the electronic ingnition kit instaslled If it dont sell by spring we will pull the motor and scrap the boat the motor and out drive well worth twice the price THAT WOULD BE A TOTAL SHAME THE BOAT APPEARS TO BE IN GREAT SHAPE price 1995.00 firm

This stuff is all getiing crazy expensive motors msrp 24k each eletonics and tracks riggers radar 24k on and on boat is probably the least expensive part have you looked at the price of a lund 21' barron lately with a 200 varado is up around 70k with out much fishing gear fun costs money and the best price is seldom quality they will last i am headed out to buy a power ball ticket as we speak seems this sport cost more and more every day but its still cheaper than the syco therapy i would need if i didnt get to fish -

HI MILT we are working on it rite now there will be a period of having two places open rite now the details are uncertain but it looks like we have a great prospect In Eau Clair Michigan (close to Benton harbor) but far enough away to avoid a lot of the problems we have in Illinois . We have already have started a small scale advertizing campaign and are working on leasing/buying some property initially we are going to put some product up there and see what kind of traffic we can draw I am getting to old to mess around it’s got to be now or never any and all ideas are on the table I hope to hear from a lot of the members here on this site to hear what they need to earn their business I already have a lot of good customers up that way that i can depend on especially moving closer to them It wont make much if any differense to our on line store customers But to make a move with the economy the way it is these days its not going to be easy. We are very conservative in nature and are proceeding with caution

I wanted the biggest boat I could trailer with no permitts
prop nut replied to prop nut's topic in Boat Photos
I have slept in it only a couple times it is roomy and comfortable inside the cabin it has a great big clothes closet a full size bed side to side in the bow section a frig/freeze (great for keeping the meat rigs cold) a galley maid punp out head The boat is desighned to go from miami to the bahamas spend week there (on the boat) and come back with out buying gas World cat dont make any cabin models any more less than 29' or 8.5 wide like this one is The price difference between the 27 and the 29 that has a 10.5 wide beam was minimal and they could not sell enough 27s to keep them in the line up I have been a dealer for them untill recently they are great boats just too expensive for our market especially because they are not building many or any little ones any more they no longer make many trailerable boats or should i say trailerable with out permitts I am considering replacing the world cat line with Steiger craft its a heavy deep V but you get a good bang for the buck what do you guys think of Steiger craft????? I will miss my world cat when it eventually sells It has brought me home a lot of times when the weather has turned BAD on us But thats the way the boat business is not good i hope things will be better if i can pull off this move to Michigan iin the near future i will snap some pictures of the inside of the cuddy cabin this week some time and get them posted for any one interested Thanks for looking Frank -

sherman you are correct with the drive still on the boat air will come out the reseviour as soon as the drive comes off their is a check valve that seals the drive sory i assummed you had the drive removed from boat working on it also a common place they leaK IS THE UJOINT SHAFT SEAL YOU ALSO HAVE TO HAVE THE DRIVE OFF TO BE ABLE TO INSPECT THIS AREA FOR LEAKS
