i use the thick strips because it is fast easy and not as messy as whole whole "A" side/ i call it/ is better A= the side with the tail on it but the salt packed strips thick strips are just too dam easy and almost as good take it out of the tub pin it with a tooth pick put a couple drops of herring oil on it and send it out here is a couple pics of the thick strips next to the regular variety the thicker strips give the bait heads a better role and last longer in the bait heads Note these are not balley hoo strips have yet to firgure out how to make them work any where near as good as these

yes Michigan city to grand haven Michigan city to Milwaukee the other side usually don't get it out till the first of July seems any early than that it gets mixed results after the 4th don't leave port with out it been doing this for almost ten years now it seems to take my bigger fish on our boat there is a definite learning curve involved fresh cut A side fillets are the best but we usually run the salt packed strips only because we are lazy and they work almost as good have not had any luck with the new bally hoo strips

riggers have all gone thru a lot of evolution the last decade or two the new cannon stx desighn is slick lot of the problems eliminated mag tens usally sell for around 519 brand new for a lifetime rigger is a good price the old big johns are nice easy to find parts and new motors when you need them The new vectors look to me to be the new top of the line for us in the great lakes not the most expesive either but still 950 is a tuff nut to crack The unitrols are the best manuals i would say for a manual rigger good luck the first thing i thought of when i first seen this post " I hope it dont turn out the same way it did for me when i tryed to bering a old electric back from the dead i my case i would have been money ahead throwing it away i spent more time and money fixing would have been a lot cheaper faster and less agrivation to buy a new one "

salt packed easy to use easy to store fresh whole cut rite before you use it is the best but just too much work 24 tubs of the thick strips are 135 ships usps because of the heavy salt it dont have to stay frozen some pure herring oil is recomended to use with the strips a couple drops on the strip before it goes in the water will work with any bait head it fits in the thick strips seem to last a lot longer than the thin ones that where packed in the vacume bags some of the larger bait heads it spins too fast with this you will have to slow it down a bit with some heavy hooks or some times pinning the head to the fishing line slows it down or best flip speed is 60 -120 rpm = 1-2 flips a second if it flips like a propeller blade it wont work well just like if it is not flipping at all or only once and a while sure make meat rig fishing easy with little or no mess

BOAT= Break Out Another Thousand

The boat alone is not the expensive part base price on a 2012 26' with a hard top and decent amount of standard equipment is only 58'500 A lot of guys buy decent used stuff for a lot less and by the time they have it sea worthy and dependable they will have spent 3-4 times as much I am not complaining in these tough times @ 90 dollars a hour labor we need this kind of work as well as new boat sales our root product is FUN we sell andservice boats motors but what the customers realy want when they hand over thier hard earned dollars is the most fun they can get for a buck The real cost of a boat is more math than the purchase price try this equasion price of the boat + cost to maintain and or make it reliable +cost to operate devided by hours of use minus what it is worth when eventually you sell it scrap it sink it = cost per hour of fun There are a lot of ways to keep this dollar per hour number down for this very reason there are a lot of realy nice boats for sale because they cost so much to keep and run the dollar per hour fun equasion is off the chart if all is considered some times new effeciant is a better investment you can get some great deals on 30' plus of all teh big luxurious brands list goes on and on and yet a 26' hard top aluminum safe off shore in big water with a nice ride will burn 1 gallon of gas in two hours of trolling put 500 hours on one in a year vs a carburated 30' glass boat with a pair of 454s and the gas alone just more than made the payments for you at the end of the day the best boat for any one. Is one he or she can afford to run after he buys it there is nothing wrong with a good used boat we can only hope to add more people out there enjoying our great fishery teaching young people how to have fun on the water it realy is all about the FUN!!
