  1. I think Mark explained it well. Just use caution in the Lake Macatawa with the shallow areas, I can't stress this enough. I know a guy who ran a ground and sank his boat last year.
  2. Fished for couple hours last night going 3/4. Fished 50 to 80 foot of water with 70 feet being the best. All hits on the south troll going 1.9 to 2.1 sog. 1 250 copper with mixed veggies 1 120 back high diver green and orange. 1 down rigger 50 down white and green
  3. I am looking for a manual on digi-troll 2 cannon down riggers or information on how to get one. I also understand these can be programed to set a preferred depth but don't know how to do that. Any information would be helpful. thank you in advance.
  4. Had trouble with a hook missing as well recently and split ring was fine.
  5. I have a 250 in 32# that works great. I also had a 150 earlier in the year and it worked good as well.
  6. I would try for lake trout out of Harrisville. If you want salmon you might try a little farther north.
  7. Took a few friends from work last night ending up 5 for 6 two steel head and three salmon. All on spoons and on the south troll. Coppers and low diver took hits targeting 50 to 80 foot range in 120FOW. Blue Dolphin took 3 fish green and silver took 2 fish blue and yellow with pink lost one
  8. 2 for 3 in the morning and had 6 knock offs but no one home, My pastor had fun anyway. Took two friends out in the evening going 3 for 5. North troll worked best. Fished 80 to 160 FOW with 100 to 120 being the best. Blue Dolphin on 300 copper 1 steel head and 1 salmon orange and black 80 down 1 king lost green and silver 60 down 1 shaker Happy Meal on diver 140 back one lake trout white paddle with a green fly got hit several times.
  9. I just worry about the salmon crashing as they did in Lake Huron. The exact same thing happened there with excellent fishing with the loss of an alewife class. The following year a couple more alewife class disappeared. Basically the rest of the alewife were wiped out the following year after that. Reasons were to many predators and invasive species. When the bait fish were gone the salmon followed. Not saying it will happen, but the potentially is there.
  10. I agree with Dave that Aaron at Lakeshore tackle is great about helping out!
  11. Went 4 for 5 this morning with my neighbor. Fish were between 80 and 120fow in top 60 feet. Green and yellow with silver was the hot bait taking 3 fish and the other bait was gold and white spoon taking 1 fish. 45 feet down on the rigger and 90 to 120 feet back the diver.
  12. They work good for my 300 copper but I haven't fished in any amount of waves with them yet. I also turn the clip around backwards.
  13. Good Job! I hope you get your knifes back, I did that the week before and someone recommend to putting a name and phone number on your knife or case.
  14. 12 for 14 today. Kept 8 fish 7 kings and 1 coho releasing 1 king and 3 coho. Bigger fish were 160 and deeper. 250 back on dipsy were hot with green and blue dolphins. White paddle and green fly down 100 on rigger. 300 copper flounder pounder and blue and silver mag. Also lost two knives today, buddy was not sure if he left them at the cleaning station or left them on the back of the truck. Please let me know if anyone finds them. Thank You
  15. Most marine radios are about the same, I would get a cheaper one as long as its not a hand held. I would however spend more on a good antenna. The new digital type would be my recommendation. I have a Cobra and like it.
  16. Nice Job! Thank You again for taking me fishing and hope everything is ok with your knee.
  17. Weather is unstable in the spring, compared summer making it hard to forecast. I might go Wednesday night if the wave holds for about a foot or less.
  18. I'm thinking about it, depending if I can get a crew together.
  19. Forgot to mention moonshine lures.
