I kno Rich. That was just another lame attempt at humor to try and razz you a little for telling us to stay home cause the fish wont be biting. You dont really ever know unless you get out there. When or if you get sometime off and are desperate for a rider to go fishing id love to join yah and help with the costs again. -
I never fell asleep on the boat when my dad brought me out ,makes me wish i could get away with it now seeing those guys. lol

Oh yeah, I hope you had a fun time cleaning your boat Caz. -
I got an offer from Plumkrazy yesterday to take me and my son out of Holland and im very glad i took him up on that. We met at 6:30 had lines in at around 7 and wasnt long at all after that my son was into his first fish. Throughout the day we had about 2 doubles and two very tired armed young fishermen going 10 for about 12 fishing till 11am. 1 coho, 1 laker, 1 beautifull steelhead and 7 kings. Ill let him give a detailed report if he wants but we got most our fish from 150-170 fow fishing the top 45 feet. Cameron and I had a great time meeting you and your son Phil thanks for inviting us.Lets do it again sometime.

Sea-Mac replied to Sea-Mac's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
I might give that a go. I must say tho with my boat im not a real big fan of 100 plus fow especially when my son is onboard. -
I only like to fish on days that end with the letter y.

After my boys ball game tomorrow im gonna take him to gun lake and try for some panfish. Gonna try and make it out Sunday somewhere after i think a little bit about where i should go. Good luck all that make it out.

Went out w/rdfishin thursday afternoon around 4:30 and was greeted by crazy fog coming thru the channel and halfway thru we saw the Black Pearl coming at us. The fog lifted not long after we got out there. We played around in 20-30 fow back and forth in front of the channel not marking much of anything then headed out to 60 fow and not much going on there then headed back in to 20-30 till the sun set. We marked maybe 5-6 fish throughout the day and a couple balls of bait. The water temps were around 50-52 deg. surf. and 45-42 deg. 12-15 ft down. I think we even hit the magic 55 deg. a few times in front of the channel there in about 20 fow but could not get anything to go.Threw alot of different baits at them to. I remember last year even in march it was hard not to go 5-10 minutes without marking at least something. Oh well. Im keeping my fingers crossed that they will show up sometime real soon. Talked to a few other boaters, one guy got a laker near south haven and another guy that ended up in holland from launching at port sheldon (his gps went out and he had to try and follow the shore in the fog it was that bad.) Might make it out Sunday but not sure yet.

Well we didnt do so well in close yesterday ended up 1/2 for 3. Had a rigger release in about 20 fow but no one home at about 6am south of piers on a northpoint nailer greenberry glow w/ that flasher i dont kno the name of. Then caught the 1/2 fish on 2 color w/ the rogue in about 6 fow north and heading north at about 8am, not to long after that we had something take out drag for quite aways but we lost it (could have possibly been bottom) the guy with the rod said he didnt feel any head shaking but boy was that drag screamin. Got 2 the guys we brought along real good with the FISH ON! trick. They both fell asleep at 10 am wich gave me and my brother in law enough time to quietly set up a plan to get them with the fish on. At 10:59 we loosened all the drags really loose then at 11 i gave the throttle a little bump up and he yelled FISH!!! and starts reelin in a rod then i yelled DOUBLE!!! DOUBLE!!! and start reelin in one. I never seen anyone jump up out of a dead sleep so fast in my life. Even got one guy to grab the nearest rod to him and start reelin. We were laughin and he was still "no i got one i got one". Good times. Thanks Rich and everyone involved!

The walleye we caught gills were littered with lil tiny white ball looking spots. Does anyone here maybe happen to know what those are or has anyone ever seen anything like that before?? -

Just like to add that we marked no fish or bait on the way out to 90 fow and none coming back in, did mark a few around the bubbler and some bait around 15 fow but not much. 10 fow out to 30 fow has been the ticket for my boat so far. Water temps were around 45 deg. in the 15 fow range... I am unable to upload any more pictures, im past my quota and have no idea how to delete any of the ones i have to make room for more. If you would like to pm me your e mail i can send them to you and you can post them. Thanks for coming along and nice job gettin that fish to the net.
