Wish i could say that i have.I been hoping for the day i could make a report saying i got one on a CAZNIK fly. I have ran them a few times but nothing. I even made a very close replica of the purple firecracker fly that i been doin pretty good with but they wont take it. Though because i have alot of faith in some other flies its hard for me to put them in the water over them. Someday tho its gonna happen. -
Went out with my boy and my dad going 4-8 from 7am -3pm with them reeling in and losing all but the biggest fish, that Big Daddy took care of to show em how to do it. 15lb. er on blue bubble spin doc. w/ bugeye alewife on dipsey set 1-1/2 out 130. Other fish came on or was lost on yellow flounder on 5 color core, buffalo bill 5 color core, and pro king i dont the name of light blue/ purple depending on the angle you look at it with green tape on the rigger 15' back down 56-61. Blue and green dolphins went dead today for us.Fished 60 fow-140 fow straight out and south with 84-85 having the most marks. Great day for fishing and sunburn.

I was hoping youd be out there today to show me where exactly that is. Thanks for leaving me some to catch tho. -
Went out this morning with my buddy mike went 9-9 with 3 shakers released. Fished from 6-11:30am. Most fish we got were in 90 fow south from stacks on south troll picked up a couple out at 150 fow going north. Blue bubblers, blue dolphin, chrome pro troll w/purple firecracker fly, and blue bubble spin doc. w/ blue bubble dreamweaver fly and bugeye fly alewife took fish. Got the biggest of the day 13 lb. in 60 fow heading in pulling lines on the bugeye alewife combo (this took both the bigger fish). From 90 fow in to 60 fow on the way in we marked lots an lots of fish.

This Phil guy and his son could catch salmon out of a mud puddle. Nice Job guys! Went out with my dad at 4pm till about 10pm going 6-7. Fished 60-170 fow 90-110 was best for us lots of bait in that area. We only kept 2 nice ones, one going around 17-18 lbs. that came on a smaller blue bubble stinger as a stacker 5 ft. up from rigger down 50. The other one we kept was around 8 lb. on a small green dolphin glow back fuzzy bear on 5 color core. This took 2 other smaller fish as well. Blue dolphin glow back fuzzy bear mag. took one on rigger down 61.And one on a pro king mag. spoon im not sure the name of, kinda light blue/ purply lookin down 50 on rigger. We lost one dandy on dipsey blue bubble spin doctor w/ bugeye alewife fly set at 1-1/2 out 130. Nothing went on west troll all going east or north and south speed 2.7. Going out again tomorrow morn. at 6am port sheldon, to much fun cant sleep. -
Are we still playing poker at this one? Also ive never stayed at that campsite but since were gonna be fishing there 2 days we might as well stay in muskegon, wondering how much it is and if they have cabins or anything like that or just tent sites. Ill take any information on Hotels close by as well.

Id like to play in this one to. Crew is sketchy but ill figure it out.

Yes good call Rich. I kno i was planning on pre fishing anyways and helping out or getting help from others to cover more water to figure the fish out is a bonus. Great idea on the big fish prize to. Congradulations to you and your daughters as well. -

My two favorites so far this year have been chrome/ chrome pro troll w/ Horse Fly purple firecracker that i been running on rigger 15'-17' back, and Blue Bubble spin doctor w/ Bugeye Fly-Alewife on my first set of dipseys.
-
Its lookin pretty grim for me as far as the weather forecasts for l. mich., if it turns out to be nice tho ill be out there prolly port sheldon again. If its gonna be cloudy rain and thunderstorm ill be on some inland lake trying to get my 5 pounder for the year.

I have some at 5 foot that ive got 2 fish on this yr. and i been using them fixed with (stacker stickers) its like a wax coated swivel that keeps it from sliding down that i attach about 5-10 foot above the ball.I was thinking they should be producing more because of the lures im running on them are going on other set ups at about the same depth and match my lure on my main line cept smaller, and ive been on other boats that take alot of fish on free sliders/fixed. I run a smaller lighter spoon cause of the fear of a mag. spoon dropping faster on turns. What i meant about on the turns was the lures dropping/falling down from the fixed position where its attached to the main line then not being able to rise back up, not as a free slider but in a fixed position sry for confusion. Ill try some at 4 foot an see what happens. I was thinking i should go longer to seperate the fish from the boat a little more and to put that lure a little closer to the one on the main line. I kno every boat is different and i need to find what works what on mine, but damn those manual riggers. Thanks for the replys.

How long of a lead do you guys use for your stacker/slider length? And also is it true that when making a turn your free sliders and stackers will drop and then not rise back up? And have any of you had luck with stacking a dipsey?
-
Ive been doing pretty good with my dipseys this year (chrome) with 4 foot 30lb. flouro leads on my flasher/fly then 21-22 inches behind flasher. With straight mag. spoon behind dipsey been doing good with 6 foot leads using 20 lb. flouro. Last trip out I hooked up more on dipseys than the lead cores. I like to use the 12 inch clear snubbers over the colored snubbers or no snubber at all.

So close but no cigar!!! I was determined to stay out there till we got that bugger but my dads friend was wanting to go and threating to throw all my tackle in the water. -
Went out with my dad and his buddy Mark. Hit the water at about 7am and headed out to 130fow and set up going west a little north, had 4 fish in the box by the time we got to 180 fow. Turned around to go east and picked up 1more 12lbs. (biggest of the day). West troll was the best troll (Just as rdfishin predicted for me, thanks buddy) Ended up going 9-11 with one steelhead. Around 11am we couldnt get anything going and just needed one more. Pulling the lines in at 2pm to call it a good day we had one on the 7 color w/ monkey puke but lost her.Ugh. Took 2 fish on spinnie/fly the rest on spoons blue dolphins /green dolphins/ michigan blueberry. 5,7,10 color cores/dipseys out 120-210 and riggers down 50-70 all took fish. Beautifull day for fishing!!

Tadpole, we are launching around 7am. When you get out there hit me up and ill letcha know what has been working for us. Gonna try a west /east troll from 140 to 180 and see what happens first. -
Went fishing with my dad and chris up north and had an awesome day fishing. We all got our limits of bass in the 14-18" range. Using wacky rig senkos and purple shad culprit plastics (i use the red dye on the tail end of these and turn them into a firetail and splash on a little crawfish scent.. deadly) Was alot of beds but didnt see any fish on them.. either they were done, or they spooked off from seeing our boat before we could see them. Caught alot of fish jus off the drops and smaller ones about every cast in the shallows. We also picked up one 14" smallie and 2 perch, one going 12". Also had 2 pike snap my line. Was a perfect cloudy overcast opening day.
