Killer Tangerine = 1 Chicken wing = 2
-
Thanks Mike and MI. Stinger for setting this up! Fishing coulda been a little better for us but my son and I had a great time this weekend. We caught our 3 fish on only the orange spoons Killer Tangerine 7 core and Chicken Wing 10 color (took 2). Missed about 4 other fish. We fished from 50-150 fow spending most of our time in around 100-114 a little north. Went out Fri. evening for a few just out to 75 fow then right back in (0 for a real close 1, bad net job on my part was a real nice fish 2) and I found out I had forgotten my flasher fly boxes that I would have used for that day and Sunday. Had to pay my sister $40 to bring them up to me Fri. night and never even used them due to Sundays tournament cancellation.. Was nice hangin out and fishing with yah Roger as allways. Bout halfway home I started kicking myself for leaving so soon and not taking Mike up on his offer to take us out. Thanks again Mike and everyone else involved. Nice Job Annmetcalf! Cazman! and Mariner!

Fished with Huntingfool this morning started at 5am finished at 6:58am with our 2 man limit of 6 kings. Set lines in 60 fow trolled out to 80 fow on a sw troll and never made it past about 87 fow. First fish came in 80fow as i was getting the last rod out on Mag. Yellow Flounder Pounder back 20 down 40 loc on rigger. From there its kinda a blurr. Took two on Blue Holo crush SD w/ Glo Blue Bubble fly dipsey set 1-1/2 out 120. One on Glo Blue Holo Crush SD w/ Glo Blue Bubble fly dipsey set 2 out 130. And 2 on White Fishscale Pro Troll w/ Glow Ghost Fly on rigger back 10 down 55 loc. Had 2 doubles. Lost one on 7 color core w/ Mag. Widowmaker Moonshine other than that the 2 cores were dead. Hottest set up id say was the Yellow Flounder on rigger Steve had it go off as he was putting the rod in the holder. I could be off on our lost fish ratio by a few seemed like non stop action. Great Fishing with yah Steve its allways nice to have someone on board to help reel up those riggers and set them back down. Thanks again for joining me.

One was 16-15 lbs., 2 were 12-10 lbs.,and other 3 were about 8-6 lbs. I noticed my downrigger go bump but the rod never released and i was thinking one hit my rigger ball. Then a few minutes later it starts bumping again, im thinking wth is going on it cant be bottom im only down 61 feet in well over 100 fow. Well being the smart guy i am i figured out my release was stuck so i reeled up a really nice fish to the surface by my manual rigger when it got to the surface it pulled the end of my walker release right off handed the rod off and my dad fought it for a few minutes but was doing his jimmy houston impersonation that he likes to do and it got off. No replacement probe yet, best part about it is he still owes me 500 for the thing in the first place so that probably wont be happening this year and it will be a miracle if it happens at all. I know im not buying it. Noticed clutter from my sonar from 40 down in some places and from 60 down in others. Found a few small scum lines running north/south past 100 fow. Saw 3 fish surface. Figured my 5 core would go for sure. prolly shoulda got out a 2 or 3 core instead. -
Went out this morning from 6:30-12:30 went 7-11 w/one laker for a 2 man limit. Fished 80-155 fow. Ran a 5 color core the whole time nothin happenin on that. 7 color with the Blue Dolphin watermelon Mag. NK that we used in the NK event took one. 10 color with flounder pounder took 1 early and a Silver Streak Mag. Blue Dolphin took 1 later on. Got 1 on Blue Holo Crush SD w/ Glo blue bubble fly dipsey set 1-1/2 out 120. Got 2 on Blue Bubble SD w/ Blue Bubble fly set 2 out 130. 1 on white fish scale 11" pro troll flasher w/ siggs riggs glow ghost fly on rigger 10 back down 61 we lost 2 others on this as well, this flasher fly combo has caught fish everytime i've used it, Thanks Mike(GLF). Surface temps were 72-74 deg. out to 155 fow. Caught fish going all directions. Took pictures but left the memory card to my camera in my computer here at home. Be back out tomorrow.

Outing - 11 August - Fishermans Landing Texas Hold 'Em
Sea-Mac replied to GLF's topic in General Discussion
I am pretty sure Fishermans Landing is $20 for a site w/water and elect. and $15 for the tent area. Im in for a $20 table. What time are we going to be playing? I was under the impression we would play right after eating. I hope we can do this cause I kinda have plans to go back out fishing later in the evening in muskegon lake. I can set the alarm on my phone to go off every 15-20 minutes for blind raises to keep things moving. -

Very Nice! Good Job Phil! Gonna try and make it out a few times this week. Looks like you lost your right arm in the second photo. -
Everything Dirty Dog said and ill add a couple more that have been working for me lately and last yr. 5 and 7 color cores w/ Silver Streak Mag. Green Dolphin with silver or Glo back, Fuzzy Bear Mag. Glo Green Dolphin, Dreamweaver Lemon Ice, Stinger Blue Bubble, and gander makes a orange and chart. spoon called shockey awe. The orange /black thin fins use to be my favorite but now its Green Dolphin spoons. If you do get some thin fins change the split rings and hooks ive lost a few fish to them straightening out. Good Luck.

What is your favorite fishing reel for salmon fishing and why
Sea-Mac replied to caznik's topic in Salmon Pro's Connection
Shimano Tekota LC. I wish i had 8 more. Great Drags and line counters. I also have trouble with one of my okuma magda reels with it sticking. Ive lost alot of fish with the magda reels as 5 color lead set ups. Least i think its the reel. I gotta blame it on somthin other than me. -
Newbie - need help with attaching leadcore to lines
Sea-Mac replied to NK_1's topic in Salmon Pro's Connection
You can use super glue on the braid to stiffen it up so it will work with a double willis knot. For my braid to mono knots i use a "slim beauty knot". -

Nice Job again Phil your on a roll. Ive been on his boat and it stays busy so im sure every depth he catches a fish hes not able to kno, he just keeps motorin and catching. As Mike said, just ask. He shared with 150 others right. My brother in law went 6-11 out of holland today. Dont kno depths or much but know that i told him sw troll, so he went on a nw troll. Starting in 50fow. Got one on white flasher fly by custom fishing products and siggs riggs on rigger, 7 color flounder pounder, and 5 color green dolphin was his hot set-ups. Think he said they went about to port sheldon in 120fow then came back. The downrigger cable that has our speed temp. probe on it just magically snapped about 1-2 feet down i guess- losing our probe/ball/release/ and clip. UGH! Said he tried to get ahold of you phil but he musta been to far north or im betting you were allready back at the dock. -

Im so elated that those stinger nitros are working good for you Phil. Thanks alot for having me aboard the plumkrazy again it was a blast. Like i said it was fun while it lasted we only fished for about 3 hours to get this limit. Anytime you need a rider im there and thanks again. -
Fished with rdfishin in 130-143 fow.8-11 6 kings 1 steelhead and 1 laker. 5 color w/ green dolphin,7 color w/ Pro king Michael Jackson, 10 color silver streak chilly willy, Dipseys set 2 150 out w/ SD blue bubble w/alewife bugeye fly, Riggers down 50-60 w/pro chip flasher matching white fly, pro chip chrome flasher w/purple sparkler all took fish. Heard of some guys getting them in closer from 50-75. Tried for perch for a little bit around the bubbler but spent more time trying to find them, Roger had a double on of gobys and was toooo tired to reel them in so he let me do it. Heres a picture of the steelhead and the biggest king that we got.
