Nice Job Boys! Im sure that info will come in handy if the perches arent biting when I make it out this week sometime. Thanks for the report Terry, Nice way to end the year! -
Nice Buck Bill! In the trail cam picture what is that camo pole thing behind him?

Im with Minnow on this one as well. The way I am looking at it tho is I dont have to spend any of my money and effort hauling it to my spot all the time when they eat it all up at night and when im not there anyways.

WMFL event report. Started right out of the piers and headed south/s west. Took our first fish a small king on a Wolverine spoon on a 5 color in about 40 fow then headed out west before we got to the first set of nets and took about a 6lb. steelhead on a moonshine Hi-nrg on a dipsey set 3 out 150 in 88 fow. Lost one on 5 color lud. glo and another on a steelie cane 5 color also. Made it as far out as125 fow then headed back in. Shoulda stayed in close. Thanks for joining me rdfishin, wife Theresa and Crosscobra.

In-Line Planer Boards and Worn Pins
Sea-Mac replied to GLF's topic in Equipment Inventions/Modifications
Personally, I like my boards to release when fighting a big fish and when resetting lines. I guess we all have our own ways of doing things and they all catch fish. (I heard that somewhere before.) Mike, wonderin if you might be able to part with about 6 of those metal pins tho. -
In-Line Planer Boards and Worn Pins
Sea-Mac replied to GLF's topic in Equipment Inventions/Modifications
I use rubber bands to keep my boards from sliding down the leadcore and causing abrasion in the line and pins like you are experiencing and have my planers release with a Otter big jon plug style release. The rubber bands will stay on the line for quite some time before needing replacing, I just leave them on and reel them right onto the spool as well. Once in a 'very great' while they will get stuck on the reel but i've only had that happen maybe 2 times and its easy to break them off when and if that happens. I use the thicker style rubber band to. Just curious, but why are you so against rubber bands on your boat? I do like your metal pin creation too btw. -
9/1 saugatuck "PERCH"

Thanks for the trip Terry! I Was hoping to clean those fish then store them for a later date to enjoy by myself, but when the kids and my brother in law seen me cleaning them I was forced to fry them up that night. If we do happen to do that again this year I might have to clean them at your place. -
Sounds to me maybe the middle section of the connection end on the probe broke? It should connect to the downrigger cable in a somewhat S looking pattern. Thinking maybe your missing the center piece on the probe of the part where it connects. You also have to strip off about 3 feet of the coating on the cable wire and it should be connected to bare wire (dunno if your doing this). Hard to tell what could be wrong. I'll try and take some pictures of mine and how it hooks up and get them on here for you in a day or two. Good Luck.

Fished from about 6 to 9pm last night. Went 4-4 with one coho from 112 to 160 fow. 4-6 lbers. Dipseys set 2 out 210 with white glo flashers and white and green glo squids took 3, the other on a moonshine brooke trout 50 down on a rigger. Went with my Mom and Niece, their first time out there and they each caught 2. Kinda glad we didnt get into anything big because they were really strugglin with the 4-6 lbers. Comedy for me to watch. Great night- calm seas. Go Fish!

A spoon I like to call "Noneya..." Super hot glo lemon iceicle is what i called it in my report, but after looking it up its proper name is Super glow hot lemon. -
Our plan was to leave early then head north as far as we could.... We didnt make it that far. For safetys sake we pretty much stayed right in front of the piers working 70-90 fow. Found some bait close to bottom and worked that. Ran 4 dipseys and 2 riggers. What worked was white glo spin doctor with white glo squid on dipsey set 1 out 211, Took 3. Dipsey set 1 out 211 with double trouble moonshine. High dipsey with coyote spoon out 150 set 3. Rigger down 50 loc with super hot glo lemon iceicle. Rigger with a flasher we call Phyliss Dyller with a green glo squid 7 feet back. Ended up 7 for 7 with 2 coho. Also caught a perch on a size 4 j plug. Like to thank Sixshooter for taking the reigns and keeping the wmfl league running. Thanks Jim.
