  1. I want to do this, but literally have 0 extra dollars to sign up right now. I feel bad. Even if its cancelled im putting my donation in. This is very important for our sport.
  2. Better safe then sorry. On a side note what longevity of the same thing frozen?
  3. I had some fish smoked last September that I just found in the fridge. I had it done at big o smoke house. It is vacuum sealed. Looks fine but I've been reading mixed information on how long vacuum sealed fish will be safe for in the refrigerator. What do you think?
  4. I use the same rods, they will bounce a bit but its normal. I have the weights set all the way forward on my boards and get decent operation with 2 boards on either side. Im going to try moving them back just a bit on lighter setups to see how they go. And a tip for setting the drag. I find with my convectors that the "sweet spot" is right where the board doesnt pull out, but I can reel in without any line coming in. If it clicks every now and then I just let it go, but in bigger waves/higher speeds I have to turn the dags 1 or 2 more clicks forward.
  5. Gander is over priced. Its worth the drive to the outdoorsman in jenison. Great selection and staff that fished the big lake. Cabelas has very small selection aswell. And another vote here for Big Lake Lures. Also stinger spoons are a favorite for me.
  6. already breaking 20lbs? Sweet.
  7. I use walleye boards instead of tx-22's. Despite the name they pull better then tx-22's. I pull full cores and 300' 45lb copper with em. They do lag back a bit with full cores especially but work none the less. Long lines will bounce and move around with the waves, this is normal. I just set the drag just high enough to not let the board pull out on its own. When a fish hits the drag peels out. I also don't set my boards to release. Even 4 pound steelies made a noticeable pull on the drags.
  8. lately its been a spoon bite and fast like 3.0-3.5 SOG did have a couple days where flasher/flies really shined at this speed aswell. Normally im at 2.3-2.7 SOG range with an even balance of each. If im running a plug heavy setup (august) then im running em slow like 1.7-2.1 sog usually, and a couple super slims or stingers which run better slow then mags. Of course always let the fish keep you honest. Sometimes a plug run at 3.0 is hot, or a flasher/fly reaaaaly slow just pounds em. Mix it up and listen to the fish.
  9. Putting 5 fish in the box is pretty good from the mixed up fishing today. Nice job man
  10. I had 4 clips on monday, but there was no info sheets in the freezer at the cleaning station. Cmon Dnr....
  11. Nice to see the fishing up north has heated up aswell!
  12. Great fishing this weekend offshore. Went to middle of sliders turned southwest in 170 and ended up south of the point both days. SW troll at 2.7 to 3.0 was key. Stayed along temp break. 56 surface 43 degrees 15 foot down. 9 for 15 Sunday night and 15 for 22(?) Monday morning.
  13. I have a long net and nerves of steel so I usually run 12-15 foot leaders on dipsys. A little shorter for flies/meat rigs. I have lost a few fish to it though.
  14. Boats N 'Hos will be there to donate money to the winner

  19. I never thought I would target greasers and sheepies to win a tourny Date seems ok thus far, will know soon. hope to be there.
  20. Great work yet again. Hopefuly theres some fish left when my boat is ready. lol
  21. make sure there is no rings on the dipsys and set em at 3 to get you further away from the boat. Cohos don't mind the wake at all either.
  22. Great job! Nice to see lots of kings in the catch. Just send em north!
  23. As far as channel fishing: I usually run slow. very slow. but in holland channel last year combat fishing everybody was moving fast, 2.7 - 3.3 SOG. Instead of being ran over and causing a headache for others i sped up to about the same. I did catch a few but find myself going slower to be better, at least for the spread i was running.
  24. Thanks as always for reports. Especially like the spoon boards.
  25. If you want fish in GH fish the beach. 6 - 15 FOW. Lots and lots of brown trout.
