  2. great job! how deep were you fishing?
  3. good to know the storms didnt throw things off too bad
  4. i use weatherunderground. Its usually right. Along with marine webcams and airport readings. You gotta take it all into consideration, and look at the radar all across the pond to get an idea.
  5. the fish on the left looks a lil hungry
  6. i grabbed some from Gold coast being right where i launch. Good selection on whole and strips. And they have moonshines!
  7. Thanks for the report. Seems the south troll from PS is doing pretty well. Strange a lot of reports of not being able to keep em hooked.
  8. Thanks for the report! Good to know the fish havent moved too far.
  9. its the least i can do with all the help ive gotten from this site.
  10. Left dock around 6:30. Setup in 90Fow and began trolling SE. Picked up first bite in 80Fow. 10lb king on dipsy. Stinger Jawbreaker Small laker came in 70Fow on dipsy NK green/yellow spoon rigger down 35 had a miss in 65Fow. Then in 65-63Fow hit my first triple. I had an actual chinese fire on my boat. No drill here... First was dipsy with green/yellow spoon then rigger at 45, then rigger at 35 Ended up with a shaker steelie, 13lb king, and a miss. Rigger at 45 took last nice king. Ended up 5 for 7 releasing the small steelie.
  11. Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!
  12. Im thinkin about running some meat rigs in my setup, have a few rhys davis rigs. Ive heard that it may be hard to find any cut bait at all? Anybody know where to get some in the grand rapids area?
  13. Started fishing at 5:30am in 50 Fow. While setting lines had a screaming rip on a rigger down 35 in 60fow with a moonshine flounder pounder. It was taking line so fast it bird nested the reel and the fish got off. After that a whole bunch of washing lures. Sounds like the fish are scattered from the other reports. Perhaps the full moon played an effect? Either way a beautiful day on the water:thumb:
  14. great job! Im plannin on running the same plan 2moro am
  15. Went out with a buddy of mine today. Ended up 1 for 3. Started in 100Fow around 530 and before i had all rods setup got a 10lb king on a dipsy set at 1 90 feet back with a blue/green Flasher/Fly. Nothing out till 160, heard on the radios they were hitting em out 250-270 and in 50-80. Just my luck starting too deep. Turned around had a miss on a rigger 75 down in 120 FOW, NK Mag watermelon spoon. Nothing more all morning fishing just about every depth until at 11 hit a small steelie in 58 Fow same dipsy as the king. Lost him right at the boat. All in all not a bad day, at least beat the skunk.
  16. I really like the navionics hotmaps chip i have, very nice detail.
  17. havent used one myself. Other i know are very happy with them. Great money saving way to find cold water and fond out how deep your lines are actually running.
  18. Thanks for the tips everybody. I know what im asking for christmas
  19. Ill be heading out in the mornin. Any hits on F/F?
  20. When you guys run a 2,3, or 5 color do you have a rod only line up with 2,3,5 or are you just letting however much line out on your 10 color reels? Any disadvantage to running 2,3,5 colors on a ten color reel?
  21. 2.2 SOG or at the ball?
  22. Hey all, Im Joe. I don't get to be on the water much, but i like to whenever i can. I use my parents 18foot four winns with 2 scotty downriggers a few dipsys and the occasional copper. Fish outta port sheldon. Had moderate success in the last 2 years, just looking to learn more tricks. Any advice and tips are more then welcome. All my dipsy rods are braid currently, though would like to get some wire sometime. I have the usual stock of flashers flies and spoons built up, but also looking to expand and try new things. Hope to see you on the water!
