Sunday Night found a group of active 4 yrolds in 150FOW range. 50foot down and 90 foot down took fish. Any color

Well forecast was just about right. Started with 3 foot rollers and ended with hardly a ripple. Fished from 100-180 North/South Trolls. around 2.0 SOG was best. Took a couple hours before we took a nice 18lb king in 175 Fow. Came on dipsy back 175 with stingray UV Veggies. Nothing for another hour or 2 before we got a hot tip from a boat that was heading in with a limit. Worked into 150FOW right as sun was setting and took 4 hits in 10 minutes. Landed 3 big kings. 18lbs, 17lbs, and 15 lbs. Then the bite shutoff so we called it a night. The 4 hits in order: Rigger down 90 moonshine Double trouble Rigger down 50 moonshine Flounder Pounder Dipsy back 175 Glow Frog SD with Frosted Phil Fly - Miss 300' 30lb copper with Moonshine BlueJacksmelt If only i had found them an hour earlier:rolleyes:

I had to make a tough call at 3am to cancel the trip. Winds looked like they were picking up a bit. Decided to go for an afternoon trip. Ill be out 5pm till bout midnite.

If the waves stay down but the smallcraft advisory isnt lifted do we fish?

Waves 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet late in the day. .sunday night...west winds 5 to 10 knots veering northeast toward daybreak. Partly cloudy. Waves around 1 foot.

Small Craft Advisory in effect through Saturday evening Holland To Grand Haven Mi- Tonight Northwest winds to 30 knots backing west 20 to 25 knots toward daybreak. Showers...then a chance of showers overnight. Waves 4 to 6 feet. Saturday West winds to 30 knots decreasing to 15 to 25 knots late in the day. Partly sunny. A chance of showers until midday...then a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Waves 4 to 6 feet. Just released

west winds at 15 to 20 knots is going to produce more then 1 to 3, offshore calls for 2 to 4 and 3 to 5 so i wont even waste gas to drive out saturday morning. I dont particularly trust the nearshore forcast, ive found the offshore to be more truthfull.

Sunday doesnt look good as far as waves go either. But if it works out ill be there.

You should take a look at the open lake forecast alongside the nearshore. So many times the nearshore says 1foot or less, but check the offshore and it calls for 2 to 4 footers. I go by what the offshore says because its usually more correct. Nice job though!

Still slow out there, and the fished moved a bit too. Washed lures in 70-100 FOW for a while before venturing deeper. Took 2 small kings and a miss in 130-140 right at the end so at least got the skunk out. Hits came on dipsy back 140 with green slush Stinger.

Nothing much to report. 1 for 2. small king and a lost laker. Fished north to port sheldon and back. Worked 70-100 most of the time and made it as far out as 140. Marked some fish but couldnt get anything going. I wonder if the storm systems passing through shut em down? radio chatter and boats at the docks had similar results. Small king came on glow bloody nose 40 down and laker came on 300' 45lb copper with a SS CJ special. Headed back in the AM cuz im just to stubborn

I have an HDS 5 and have the same problem. My transducer is mounted on the transom at the bottom of the boat.

Decided to hold off on the grand haven tourny so ill be in.

Im thinking about fishing this tourny for the first time this year and id prefer to weigh a 3 man limit. It really shows the skills of the boats to find and target only the bigger fish.

Not sure if ill be fishing the next event or if ill be doing the grand haven offshore challenge, either way i cant wait for the next tourny~

Well after waiting for an hour or so we decided to give it a shot with the storm passing. Fished NW to port sheldon and zig zagged back SE and SW to holland. Ended 8 for 10 with a shaker and a laker 140-160 was the ticket again. Pretty much the same setup aswell. Dipsys back 125-150 with flasher flies. White/white white/green Moonshines on riggers down 90 Got pushed off by the shifting and building waves around 11.

Fished from 100-180 FOW on NW troll. Marked a ton in 100-130 but couldnt buy a bite. Made it out to 160 before taking fish and stayed in 165-170 and they kept coming all the way to port sheldon. Ended 7 for 12. What worked: 8 in protroll green dots w/ frosted phil fly - dipsy set 2 175 HOTT 8 in protroll davey jones w/ green bay fly - dipsy set 2 125 8 in protroll glow/chrome w/ artic blast uv fly - rigger 75 Moonshine Flounder pounder on rigger at 90 fought a huge fish that snapped Tried lots of other flashers and spoons but couldnt get anything but 8in protroll to take. Spindoctors 8 and 10 inch and 11 inch paddles didnt take anything. Spoons were also slow for me today. Heard good chatter about fish around 140Fow 40-70down aswell. No pics today.
