  6. So that's whats been straightening out my split rings
  7. Went 7 for 11 sunday am. 175-180 FOW in small pods. Kept circling around to get hits. Mostly on north troll a few on the south. 3.0SOG North and 1.7SOG South All but 3 hits came on green plugs. 160 down on rigger and 275-300 back on braid dipsys. Other hits were on white paddle/poofster fly rigger down 130. Long Lines dead. 300' 45 copper w/4oz snap weight and flounder pounder and 300' 45 copper with raspberry carbon didnt take a hit. Was very hit or miss with a few long dead periods. Beautiful day though.
  8. Blues and greens always seem to work. Fishing is usually 4-8 miles offshore depending on water temperature. If its a nice day or a weekend there will be a pack of boats that you can usually fish in the general area of and find fish.

  11. Well It was a bit brisk but a beautiful night on the water! I figured most of the fish would have stayed deep even with the flip so i started in 120. Marked a ton in 125-135 but only took 2 fish there before moving out deeper. 140-180 held fish but they were scattered. Ended up 6 for 11 What worked Rigger 5 foot off bottom w/ Ace high watermelon plug Full core w/ BLL UV Green Dolphin HOT 273' 32lb copper (lost a chunk of copper) w/ SS UV Blue Dolphin HOT Dipsy back 190 w/ green dots 8in pro troll and hypnotist fly Dipsy back 150 w/ Blue Spin Doctor BW Morningwood Fly When i was coming back in i had to stop in 50FOW to move a tackle box and the graph lit up with bait. Sure enough i shined a light into the water and watched em darting around.
  12. As far as strips go they seem to work alright refrozen, especially if cured, but dont refreeze whole herring.
  13. Id collect as many diff species eggs as you can as they all have their day. You can use store bought cures or make your own. I use store bought cures and they work just fine. Just follow directions on package.

  16. Get the paddles designed for meat with them but i like Capt John Kings 2 fly green/chrome meat head and big weenie UV Purple death as my favorites.
  17. It must be a species of brown i havent seen before? It didnt have spots on its adipose and its jaw didnt extend well past the eye and no spots on tail? Looks a lot like pictures of atlantics ive seen but i dunno. Feel free to prove me wrong. Id like to know forsure which
  18. Ran north to port sheldon to avoid the storm this mornin. No real action until we turned WNW and trolled slow. 2.0-2.2 sog. 120-160FOW Ended up 11 for 17 before winds picked up at 10.   19. meat seems to work during the day for me so i dont bring it out till my starting spread slows down.
  20. I use em as is. Havent ever used brine ever in fact. Ive used alwives i caught at the piers on meatrigs later that day with success

  22. Well I took 4 trips in 3 days so the details are fuzzy but mostly the same. 125 FOW south troll has been the money! went 10 for 12, 6 for 12, and 13 for 20. All trips jus a few hours long. Fishing was best shallower in the column mostly 30-55 down but sunday they seemed to move deeper with riggers down 75 and 90 being best. What worked: 10 color - BLL UV Green Dolphin 300 32lb copper - Mag Miami Dolphin 300 45lb copper - BLL Patriot Riggers down 45, 55 friday and sat with blue dolphin and mt dew spinny mirage fly Riggers down 75 and 90 sunday with mt dew spinny mirage fly and Flounder pounder Dipsys back 125, 145, and 155 - Blue spinnie blue hypnotist fly, chrome gator spinny frosted phil fly, glow frog spinny glo nad fly, and chrome/pearl protroll with Artic blast uv fly. Mostly Big Kings with a few medium sized kings and some nice skams and steelies mixed in. Even a couple pig lakers. Not a bad way to spend all my money!
