    I have ran both of them my friend has big Jon's on his boat I fish with him probably 12 times a year and I have cannons on mine. The only thing I like better about the big Jon's is if your bouncing bottom for trout the booms flex to let u know your there with the cannons you have to watch for slack in the cable. I would take my cannons all day long over the big Jon's. Just like them better, but like everyone said it's a Chevy ford thing, they where on the back of my dad's boat growing up.

    The boat is a 1984 Cruiser, 25' with an 8' beam. It has 11 rod holders on the hard top, 3 rod holders each side for copper or lead, 2 ratcheting rod holders on each of the gunnels for dipsy's. Wash down and a battery charger. Trailer come's with it 4 new tires last year and an axle. Also last spring put 2,400 into the lower unit. I also have 4 older manual cannon down riggers I can throw in( no bases) also has a subtroll head unit no probe.
