  2. Makes perfect sense! Thanks for the enlightenment.
  3. fancy data is right.... Over here in WI the DNR counts the cement lawn deer twice! Just because they dont move as fast as the other deer.
  4. Jim, what is the woof part mean??? If you dont mind me asking.
  5. Matt, Nice video, The stellies have great color. Jason, Now I really want to see the Steelies you caught. Great Job to both of you.
  6. Not sure about Michigan but in Wisconsin it is the law to have a set of cutters capable of cutting the downrigger cable. We lost 1 fisherman and almost 2 other fisherman in 2010 accident, when they tried to free their gear instead of cutting it loose. WI OUTDOOR NEWS article Sea Grant states on their web site "IF you get tangled in the net cut the cable and attach a float marked with your name and phone number and they will return the gear to you." They also state that once the down rigger cable is cut loose, the gear will drop out of the net without issue. SEA GRANT

  11. For any of the MI guys that are coming over WI, You will want to check out the link below. Watch for Eric Haataja, Grey Beard, Jason Woda. These guys have the pulse on the Milwaukee area! I know there is other good guys posting there but my memory is short. And ignore the goof balls on there. I am not trying to promote some other site but rather give my fellow GLFer another source of information. Hope this helps. http://www.lake-link.com/Wisconsin-Fishing-Reports/ Just type in MICHIGAN in the search field. There is several milwaukee, lake Michigan threads so look around.
  12. Frank, Sounds like you are trying to get invited over for dinner! I tried very hard to save 1/2 of a fillet for my luch the next day but it turned out to be 1/4 of one. Thats all that was left.
  13. BBQ Sauce 2/3 cup brown sugar (packed) Juice of one lemon (aprox 3 Tbsp) 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 sticks of butter or margarine (I used 2/3 cup) Combine the ingredients and heat until disolved and blended. The mircowave works just fine for this step. Grill salmon fillets skin side down over hot coals. If steaks are used, you will need to turn once. Baste 2 to 3 times per side during grilling. Add a handful of soaked Alder chips on to the coals for an extra smokey flavor. Serve with lemon wedges and pass the remaining sauce around the table. This will be enough sauce for 2 pounds of salmon. TIPS! I used skinless coho fillets and i turned them once, basting 3 times per side, I used a lot of the sauce and it flared up but it will just add to the flavor. IF you go skinless make sure you spray the grill rack with no stick cooking spray BEFORE the grill is over the coals. Once sprayed you will want to place the fillets on the grill right away or the heat from the grill will burn off the spray. This recipe is super fast and easy!! I got 2 thumbs up from Momma and Mushy! Make sure you make extra fillets for sandwiches the next day. Mushy ate a whole fillet himself.
