  1. Thanks for the report, hopefully we will be fishing Holland for the first time sunday weather permitting.
  2. Ken, We have been concistantly catching the fish 4 miles north of the peirheads. Fish have been working their way out deeper. Will be out this weekend providing Mother Nature doesnt run us off the water. Dreamweaver Tournament Saturday- We will be sharing all info on 72, it's a great tournament and everyone who competes in this tournament is already a winner for their support.
  3. Bill, I currently use the MOOR Subtroll and think it's great- a little bother with coated cable but analog display is nice. I used the fish hawk fx4 last year and liked that product as well. The other product you may like is the fish hawk TD which is about $150 and attaches to either your DR or Fishing line and will give you depth and temp, no speed. I have this on my boat as well and like it for giving me running depths of lures- also nice for dipsy's. Always willing to help.
  4. Thanks for the report Jeff, I had the same problem last night in Muskegon. Lost 5 fish- let my wife bring in 2 to keep skunk off boat. Some Nights are just that way- hey you found the fish!!! Great Job and best of luck.
  5. Ran north out of muskegon 4 miles and set lines in 60fow, was all alone as most seemed to have stayed around peirheads and deeper 90-120fow. Trolled for 3 hours staying in 70-75fow. Water temp still 42 25' down. Fishing was hot for us, but unfortunately I seemed to have forgotten how to bring the fish into the boat. I lost 5 fish, having them spit the lure at the back 50' from boat. I had enough and refused to take another rod:mad: Thanks to my wonderful wife we keep the skunk off the boat having her land 2 fish:grin: Ya, she schooled me! 2.25 at ball Free sliders with ball down 55 took 3 hits and 1 fish. Mag NBK 7color sponge bob (Imposter- new that day) took 3 hits, lost all 3 fish, spitting lures at us at back of boat. 5color MS Double Trouble 1 fish Mostly smaller fish last night- big ones probably much deeper:confused:
  6. Bill, I was in 50fow and was hooking up with several nice kings! I'm glad to hear you boxed a nice king.
  7. Don, Heck of great job! Boy some of those fish look big! Must have had some sore forearms reeling in all those fish.
  8. Scott, Thanks for the report, great job landing 3 nice kings
  9. OK, I have been running some BTB "Better than Bait" style meat rigs this season with no success:mad: But as they have always said "if first you don't succeed try again" or again and again. So I went out with 2 buddies last night out of Muskegon and stayed shallow from morning reports. 45-65fow. Water cold:eek: Set up at 6:30pm and begain to troll NW SOG 1.8-2.0 and about 30 minutes later in 57fow the port dipsy set on 2.5 89back took off screaming My rookie buddy grabbed the pole and the fight began. I new it was a going to be a hog by the way it kept peeling line! I wasn't sure if we would land this fish as my buddy who is green had no idea what to do and I did not want to take the pole from him so he fought that fish for 25 minutes as he gained 20' the fish would take another 50'. Finally he was able to bring it to the back of the boat, I gasped for a second and told myself don't muff this part up- a quick swoop of the net and it was in the net and in the boat. It ended up weighing 21lbs, not bad for a rookie. Now I'm sold on this stuff as you might imagine. Managed 2 more fish under 60fow (riggers-spoons), nothing else that big. My uncle was out in 100fow down 45' and boxed 6 decent kings as well. Decent night out of Muskegon.
  10. Dave, Best advice is keep playing with your program and don't be afraid to change this up. Some days the fish like one color , the next day a different color. Speed can vary as well from day to day. My best program out of muskegon has been running 3 riggers with sliders. I still run wire divers and copper but my riggers have been on fire. You don't need to chase everyone around on the lake, if you find the baite on the graph the salmon will be around. Fishing has been tough over the last 2-3 weeks, just starting to pick back up here in Muskegon. I usually have room on my boat and would never have a problem with taking out a fellow fisherman. When I thaught I was doing something wrong years ago, I jumped on a few other boats to learn why they were catching fish and I wasn't- I realized that it just takes time and things will fall into place. Feel free to PM if ever interested in going out of Muskegon.
  11. Quick trip last night, left dock at 7pm and set up just N. of peir heads in 110fow and started a NW troll. Started picking up fish in 130fow 50down on riggers. Finished 5 4 6 with another nice 18lb king and a 16lb king. Other 3 were baby-shoes:D Speed at ball was 1.8-2.2 Green lures were the ticket. Sea fleas were not all that bad. I'm real happy with the size of these fish, real healthy and full of bait. Should be a great summer:lol:
  12. Speed has changed in the last 2 weeks- we were running hot 2.7-3. at ball but now were find a slower troll 2.0-2.4 at ball has been producing bigger fish. Hmmmmm???
  13. Ben, Seafleas bad up in Muskegon as well. I usually only pull lines to change lure, unless lucky enough to fight a fish. I found shaking the rod holding tip close to water helps with knocking off the fleas. Some guys swear by the flea flicker line- never ran it. Mongolean Beef did well for us last night. 5 minutes after setting it down 65 in 130fow of water we took a nice 18lb king. Wife fought it for 15 minutes taking several long runs! We have had several shakers this year on 300cu as well. Always asking myself how long had we dragged that little fish not knowing it was there. We have been doing real well with pink panties on the brighter days- wolverine and dreamweaver lurre.
  14. Good job on landing a few nice kings! Muskegon was tough last night as well. Boxed 3 kings, after trolling for 3 hours as well. Good Luck this season
  15. Set up just north of the peir heads in 95fow and trolled north. Picked up a nice 12 king on pink panties down 72. Speed at ball was 2.3 and temp 54 degrees. Then trolled for 2 more hours and nothing. Pulled copper lines to find a small shaker on 300copper with a Yeck "Lightning". Had about 20 minutes before dark and so I switched the riggers to moonshine lures and I'm glad I did. Wife grabbed the port rigger as it went off and the fight began. I could tell it was a nice fish by the squeal of the drag, she faught that fish for 10 minutes and I netted her a 19lb king on a Mongolean Beef down 65 in 130fow. That ended the night 3 4 3
  16. thanks for the report. always fun bouncing around while trying to set rods. hopefully the lake settles down.
  17. Great job putt-em on ice guys!
  18. Jumped on a friends boat and headed N. out of whitehall. Set lines in 90fow at 6pm and trolled NW in and out from 180-90fow. Nothing for 1.5hrs and then the fun began. 3 rods took hits on port side and we managed to box 2 of them. Rigger 75 down with a glow demon and 200 copper with a green froggie lure took fish. Kept picking at them for the rest of the night, actually losing as many as we boxed:confused: 7 for 14 all kings ranging from 1- 15lbs. Did lose a nice fish that almost stripped our 300 copper set-up. Leader snapped at knot:eek: Lures with green did well above 60fow and black rasberry type lures did well deep. Free sliders took several hits. Had several fish unbutton on 200/300 copper. It's almost embarrassing to say we lost 7 fish. Speed at ball a constant 2.3 49-52 degree water. I'm thinking that it's starting to pick back up. Still many small fish, but some cranky kings are out there.
  19. Congrats on the nice King
  20. Thanks for the report, hope to make it back out this weekend.
  21. Bob, Funny how that was last night, we had the same problem with the baby shoes biting our lines as well. We were north of you in Muskegon. Great Job catching a few. Ya sea fleas bad, black flies worse
  22. Dropped lines in 130fow just west of the nets straight out of pier heads in Muskegon. No sooner after setting shoot rigger with a SR set-up with a pink panties took a nice 8lb king. Then trolled out to 230 fow and nothing, trolled back through same water column missed a few rigger releases and picked up 4 more fish. 2 on riggers 80- 90down 160-200fow and 1 on 225copper and 1 on 300 copper. All smaller fish 1-2lb. Great Table fare:D The pink lures seem to still be hot. Sounded like most others had a slow night. Not many people talking- not sure why?? Thanks to Fish-Tale for the radio come-back and Great advice-
  23. Great Job Matt! Thats a great first trip for June! Was out there in same water and did about the same.
