  1. I purchased the X5 this summer and feel it handles my 27' twin screw Tiara Continental just fine- with 3-4 footer I often run both motors and run sea anchors which help stabalize the boat- It's loud and takes some time to get use to, especially while trolling- but with for the price and ease of installation I'm happy- plus I got the wireless remote and I can troll with my wife and not argue :-)
  2. Agree with the Rapala charging box being not a good product. You put a spoon in and it comes out with areas of the spoon not fully charged, the small led lights are too close to the spoon when shut. But then again maybe this unique glow pattern will work better??- I just bought the rapala box last week- have been using a spot light with no problems in the past.
  3. Im turning and burning at 0600 with my wife for most likely our last time this year- plan on setting up straight west in 110-130fow- did well last week with a quick limit.
  4. Great Job, and thanks for the report!
  5. Looking at your total fish #'s this year I'd say you did well! It's tough when you here that others did well and you couldn't buy the same bite. Been there many times. I believe if you fish as much as you did it all evens out.
  6. Got lucky in finding a pod of hungry fish!
  7. Ok, decided to grab the wife and take fishmael out on a quick run out of Muskegon. Arrived to dock at 5:30pm and my wife realized she forgot her purse:confused: Only one license- 5 fish? No problem:thumb: Ran out to 125 fow striaght west of peir heads. Started to drop lines on a south troll and as soon as I had one rod set it fired and then 1 fish, reset and started on the second then both rods went off! 3 fish reset both lines and trolled for 15 minutes and then the 4th rod fired- 4 fish in the box. Turned to ask if my wife was doing ok driving then the 5th rod fired and we were done. 5 fish in 30minutes and that was our night. only ran 3 riggers down 65-90 in 125fow south troll. Anything purple tonight. 4 kings and 1 coho 2-8lbs. Hope to make it out sunday. A few boats in muskegon and in the channel- not much radio chatter but did she several boats out on the big pond in similar water.
  8. Thanks for the report! I always wondered the same thing- maybe half the distance??
  9. Mike, Thanks for the report- sounds like their still hanging out in muskegon lake.
  10. Jig them- It's a blast and can be very productive. Tuesday am in muskegon we caught 26 mature kings in 3 hours, keep only our DNR limit but it was a blast!
  11. Great job on the fish- we found the coho as well friday in 120fow. We were lucky to find several nice kings as well. My wife landed the big fish of the year on wire dipsy- 11" pearl paddle and rapture oceana took a nice 23.5lb hen. That has been our best set-up all year on wire dipsy.
  12. I ues 20lb seaguar flouro all year, but have had several break-offs so I switched to 30lb blood run flouro and haven't had a problem- Hope this helps
  13. Hey,

Really appreciate your last report! Because of it I ran to 110fow just N of first set of nets last night and boxed 7 fish in 1.5 hours. 2 nice coho, 4kings and a laker. Big fish was almost 25lbs. I worked deeper water the night you hammered them and only managed 3 dinks- so a big thanks again, my wife was sooo happy we put the big fish in the box. What a week however- we have had a blast and the #/size of fish have been awsome

  14. Sorry we lost connection last night- we got into the fish hot and heavey at 7:45 just North of the first se of nets, still in the 13's. About 120fow we had a triple and then a double all with-in 20minutes, finished with 7 real nice fish the biggest was 23.5lbs and dark. 11" pearl paddle and oceana fly on wire back 220 dis the best also green/chrome SD and a green fern fly did real well- hope you guys did well- we actually called it quits at 800 after the chineese fire drill.

  15. Awsome box of fish- a big congrats to you my man!!! It's nice to jump boats from time to time- you can really pick-up some neat tricks and ideas.
  16. Jeff, Way to kick-butt on the fish.
  17. Jose, I did fish monday night but not am. I was fortunate to have caught 13 fish that night in 140fow. Lots of action. Biggest fish was 12lbs. The bigger fish have been in tight but so has the traffic and I would rather catch a limit of the silver fish. I will be out Friday night as well as through-out the weekend. I would never turn away a fellow fisherman if he were to ask for a report. Lake is big enough for us all to play and have fun.
  18. Looks like it might be bumpy in am- so might head out for evening fishing trip. Anyone from this site heading out as well? Would love to get a few of the regulars to do some communicating out there especially if water turns as I think it might with the warm water moving up from Grand Haven- I'm not a fan of combat fishing and will most likely run away from the crowd, rather spend time catching young fish than stressing over the crowd.
  19. Gotta love the action out deep right now. Great job guys and thanks for the report.
  20. Jeff, Great job on the mature fish- ya solo fishing has to be tough! What a wonderful night- no waves, just the right temp and very little traffic IMOP. I plan on going out a few more times and the it's getting time for the whitetail season.
  21. The darkie are in the channel and staging in front of sand docks- my parents are jigging some nice fish this am. Might try this to save on gas $$$
  22. Ok Guys, Muskegon is crazy hot right now in the 140fow. Tonight I ran out to 130 and set lines and trolled NW just past 1st set of nets and in 2 hours boxed 13 fish missing another 3. Trolled out to 200 and back to 130. 140 seemed to be the best. Riggers were hot down 60-75 with pink alwife and bloody nose taking 6 fish, wire divers set back at 160-180 took another 6 fish trolling a BW blue meat rig with 11" white paddle and a 11" white paddle with an oceana fly. 1 fish on 225Cu. We had are own version of combat fishing aboud fishmael tonight. 3 double headers- thank god for 2 nets:thumb: What a night- now the fish weren't huge by any means but healthy and full a energy! Heard guys catching bigger fish in tight.
  23. Great Job Don, Sounds like a lot of fish scattered out of Muskegon. This past weekend was an awsome time to catch limit fish, it's not work if your having fun while doing it.
