  1. I just wanted to once again thank Larry from BLL:thumb: He was kind enough to donate a few spoons for me to run and give to the veterans I had onboard my boat for the 2012 Salmon Assault Tournament for Veterans on May 19th out of Muskegon. I struggled to find the bigger fish on saturday after 2 days of pre-fishing and hammering them on Larry's Tequila Sunrise in 70-80fow but on Saturday if was a little different and the fish seemed a little more difficult to entice, I did manage to go 7/11 and as I was all but ready to pull lines with 30 minutes left to fish I decided to run Larry's Patriot on a SWR 3 color down 62 in 78fow and pop it took off and 10 minutes later a happy veteran had his first ever big lake king salmon and it weighed close to 13.5lbs- having less than 20 minutes left to fish I sent it out hoping and praying it would fire again- and sure enough it did and another veteran reeled in a nice 12lb king- This moment almost brought me to tears to see their faces and to have caught our 2 biggest of the day on Larry's "Patriot" - how fitting and those 4 humble veterans went home with fun memories and plenty of fish and the lutres Larry donated that caught their fish. Thanks again larry:thumb:

  4. Fished Muskegon today from 10-1pm and we were 10/16 with our limit in 80-100fow straight out and to the north. Fish ranged from 5-15lbs. All spoons riggers 41-52 down andd 225 copper which would be right there with the spoons. Big Lake Lures Modified Blue dolphin and Tequila Sunrise took the majority of the fish- will be back out friday and saturday:thumb:
  5. David, Keep up the posting and good luck out on the big pond- all the guys here are a great source of knowledge and wisdom-
  6. Great job on finding the fish
  7. After last nights bumpy 3-5 foot seas we decided to sleep in and head out at 10:30am. Set up in 100 straight out and took our first fish in 110fow on rigger down 90 with the BW "Living the Dream" paddle and fly- ended up taking 5 fish with that set-up in 110-140fow. Also took fish on silver streak U of M froggy on 225 45lb copper and modified coyote. Ended 10/11 with a throw back dink so we took 9 home and ended at 3pm. 7 kings 2-8lbs and 2 coho 2-4lbs. All good eaters:thumb: What a great afternoon on the water- forgot about sun screen -
  8. $75-100/ 6 hour trip. 1987 Slickcraft 270SC with twin 350's. 9,000lbs with crew and gas:thumb:
  9. Great Job! Thanks for the Report!
  10. Thanks Again for the report:thumb:
  11. I also use mono backer and recently switched to BR backer- I use and albright knot- but because this is a larger diameter material unless you have a large opening on your levelwind it will be difficult to pass- Tekotas are no problem but my Okuma convectors are tight-
  12. I thought I recognized the boat- season 2 333TV pulling in Charlies Angel during the GH tourney.
  13. I might have an open slot- sent ya a pm:thumb:
  14. I like Morgans Super Copper- run 300' of the 45lb and do well out of Muskegon
  15. I signed up for the Holland seminar and I'm pumped to go-
  16. Thanks Guys, This will be my first year entering the tournaments and I'm pumped! I'm looking forward to meeting/making some new friends.
  17. It is not open by way of boat.
  18. 90fow- Muskegon
  19. Snug Harbour Motel across from Snug Harbour State Park Launch is still open all year- Nothing Fancy. Maybe not what your interested in, being a motel but the state park launch is right there- launch is ok for anything under 24' Its a quick shot to channel- nice fish cleaning station at the launch. DW tourney is a real good time- we just need mother nature to cooperate this year.
  20. MEAT! Yes, Muskegon- but if you don't like the stink or mess run BTB- "Better than Bait" seems to work well and no mess- dip the different colored strips in herring oil and deploy-
  21. I don't see many posts on the Ridgeback Rattler. I would imagine that at times it may be too aggresive as it causes a great deal of turbulence. I see the guys who sell BTB from Big Water Tackle using it on their website. I have not personally seen or spoken to anyone who runs it regularly here in Muskegon. Thanks for the response.
  22. Anyone running a rattler? Any thoughts- good/bad? Thinking about maybe buying one to have on the boat. Currently run 12lb cannon DR weights.
