  1. My 4 yr old grandson wanted to catch a fish so we went out and set lines at 5:45 in 100 fow. At 103 fow we took a king on lemon ice 60 down on a rigger. We then trolled out to 125 with no other hits. We turned around and took a double in 99 fow. Both kings with one coming on a purple and white spoon 80 down on a rigger and the other on an orange fish catcher with an orange fly on dipsy 160 back on 3 . In 83 fow we took another double of kings. One came on the purple and white again 75 down on rigger and the other on a mixed veggie 60 down on a rigger. We pulled lines at 8:00 to get the grandson home to bed. He had a great time assisting on two of the fish.

  5. First trip of the season was good because all the equipment worked well. However the fishing could have been better since we only got three. We started out two miles south of the piers in 50 ft. and trolled out to 130 ft. First fish a 10 pound king came in 60 ft. on a Dreamweaver magnum lemon ice on half core. At 84 ft. we took a small king on a green and orange pro king spoon on a rigger 27 ft. down. The last fish, a small coho came on a Dreamweaver lemon ice 40 down on a rigger in 121 feet of water. It felt great to get back on the water again!!
  6. I have used Big Jon triples for ten years and would not trade them for any others. They are very durable. I have run three dipsy's at the same time with no problems.
  7. One last trip out for the season proved to be worthwhile. We started to set lines at 7:00 AM and before I had all the lines set we had four fish in the box. The next hour only produced 2 more but I will take 6 fish by 9:00 any morning. The fish came straight out of the piers in 75 to 93 feet of water. All 6 were small kings with the biggest being 6 pounds. One came on pro king bumblebee 45 down on a rigger. One came on blue spin doctor with blue fly on a dipsy 80 back on 1. Two came on a wonderbread J plug on a dipsy 130 out on 3. And two came on full lead with a dreamweaver lemon ice. I look forward to reading all the great reports next spring. Three months until some hard water fishing!!!!

  15. Last week we kept only perch over 9 inches. We fished south in front of the A frames. I use sweedish pimples with a single hook which I tip with a thin strip of belly meat from a king or lake trout out of the box as we usually troll for a few hours before we look for perch. The bigger perch seem to go after that rather than minnows.
  16. I believe it is the size 0 dipsy I use and yes it was bumpy Sunday morning especialy going out since I ran south to be able to go with the waves. We were all soaked by the time we got out to 70 feet. It was a great week of fishing but today was back to work. The bright side is next week I am also taking a week off so if the weather is good I will be out all week and will be posting. We eat fish at least twice a week so it goes fast. We also got some nice kings so my smoker will be busy.
