  1. Fished perch today north of the harbor up by the clay banks. We found a few perch in 24 fow. We ended the morning with 46 6 to 8 inch perch. Not a great perch day but better than the slow days we were having looking for kings and they will taste great!!!
  2. Since fishing has been tough we decided to cover the bottom and fish for lake trout. That didn't work any better as we covered 50 fow to 90 fow for three hours with a skunk still in the box. The lake was flat so we picked up and ran out to 230 fow. At 238 fow we took a coho on a stinger mixed veggies 50 down on a rigger. At 239fow we took another coho on a dreamweaver NBK 51 down on a rigger. That was the last of our action for the day. The surface temp out deep was 60 and 50 down was 51 degrees. We are looking for perch on Friday with better results I hope!!!
  3. Since we didn't find any fish inside Tuesday we decided to run out where we were on Monday. We set down in 235 fow and took a coho at 238 on a stinger blue dolphin 45 down on a rigger. The next fish came at 240 on a warrior mixed veggies 55 down on a rigger. We worked that area for the next hour with no more bites. We then headed west out to 275 and never lifted a rod so we pulled and ran back in to 150 fow. We trolled all the way in to 60 fow with no fish and marked very few. Hopefully Thursday will be a better day!!!
  4. Today was a whole different lake than yesterday. Do to the chop on the lake I didn't run back out to 240 where we were yesterday. We worked the 70 t0 110 waters and got our first skunk of the season. We marked fish and bait but never had a hit all morning. We will be back out tomorrow morning!!!!
  5. I finally got out for the second time this year! The lake was flat so we went out to 200fow. We worked 200 to 250 with 240 being the best. We ended up 9 for 11 with 5 coho, 2 Kings, and 2 Steelhead. Fish came on 3,7,10 color lead. Riggers set at 45, 50, and 60. Baits were warrior mixed veggies and purple,Dreamweaver lemon ice and NBK. Spin doctors in Mixed veggies and blue
  6. Thanks for the report!! I will be getting my boat out of storage next week!!!
  7. We set lines at 7:00 in 90 fow on a west troll. At 130 we took a laker on a dark blue spin doctor with a blue bubble fly behind a mag. diver 300 back set on 1. At 142 we took a king on a white spin doctor with a green/gold fly behind a mag. dipsy 250 back on 1. At 193 we took a laker on a dream weaver monkey puke 110 down on the rigger. At 200 fow we turned east and went back to 90 fow and never took another hit. I never found any water colder than 60. Our speed at the ball was 2.4 to 2.6. This was my last trip of the season so I look forward to hearing from all of you next spring!!!!!
  8. Thanks for the report Mike. I was out Monday for the first time since the Holland tournament and also recorded my first skunk of the year. I fished 90 fow to 200 with two rigger releases with nobody home and one hit on a dipsy which was gone by the time I got from the wheel to the rod. We need a good east blow for a couple days so we don't burn so much fuel going deep. Good luck the rest of the weekend!!!. The crew I had lined up for today cancelled out. Have a great day on the water!!!!
  9. Sorry to hear about all the equipment lost but I remember a lot of days in July I would be thrilled to come in with six fish!!! I haven't been out in 12 days so I am glad to hear there are still fish in close. I found a walleye board while walking on the beach today. The boat name on the back is Dustins Dream. If no one contacts me for the board you are welcome to it. Have a great evening!!
  10. We took a three man limit again running the exact same program as my post yesterday. We fished the same water and used the gps marks from Monday. We took 11 kings and 4 steelhead. The kings were all over 10 pounds. It almost seems like they are schooling to run up the river. We had 9 in the box by 7:30 but took us til noon to get the other 6. Have a great day on the water.
  11. Took my brother and my dad out for my dads 89th birthday fishing trip. We had a great day as we went 15 for 20. All of our fish came in 55 to 59 fow south of the piers. The riggers were set at 45,50, and 55 andthey all took fish. The mag dipsy's were set at 100 and 125 on 1. Full lead only took one fish. Early fish came on moonshine happy meal, hot lips, bad toad, flounder pounder. Took moonshines off at 8:30. warrior purple/silver and green/silver took fish. stinger carmel dolphin and blue dolphin took fish. White spin doctor green/gold fly and mountain dew spin doctor with green glow fly took fish. Most of the fish were 4 year olds. The total weight of all fish in the cooler was 194 pounds. We had 6 fish over 14 pounds with the biggest 19. That was the heaviest cooler I have ever had in 40 years of fishing lake mich. Have a great day on the water!!!!
  12. My brother coming from Milwaukee got hung up in traffic in Chicago so we got a late start this morning. We set lines at 7:00 in 70 fow a little north of the piers. We went 3 for 4 and pulled lines to find some perch. Our first two kings came on the same setup. A white spin doctor with a green/gold fly. One in 83 fow and the other in 88 fow. In 93 fow we got a steelhead on a mountain dew spin doctor with a glow green fly. The fish we lost was also a steelhead which got into the lead and broke both lines off. We should have kept trolling because we never did find any perch. Have a great day on the water!!!!!
  13. We left the dock at 4:00 for a perch trip. We went south and fished off the Hilltop road water tower in 38 fow. We fished until 7:00 and had 65 in the cooler 8 to 12 inches. The only problem was we caught 2 or 3 golby's to every one perch. It was worth it putting up with the golby's for the size perch we were getting. Have a great day on the water!!!
  14. We went perch fishing this morning and only got 27 before the storm moved us off the lake. It was slow for us as we had to do a lot of looking and drifting to find what we did. We got most of our fish north of the harbor by the cement retaining wall in 20 fow. We threw a lot small ones back but did get a dozen over 11 inches with the biggest at 13 and a half. We also caught a lot of golby's. I didn't hear any reports from the boats fishing south of the piers.
  15. I won't be out on Sunday as I have church and a father/son BBQ to go to. I hope you have a great day!!!
  16. Got a late start today as I waited for some friends from Saginaw. We left the dock at 7:00 and headed out about 2 miles south of the piers. Went to put the fish hawk on the rigger and the paddle wheel fell into my hands. Apparently the last time out I lost one of the locking nuts on the shaft that goes through the wheel. Anyway we went 5 for 7 by noon. First king 16# came on a warrior lemon ice 80 down on a rigger in 80fow. Next came a double with a laker on a mountain dew spin doctor with a grn/yellow fly on a mag. dipsy 200 back on 1 in 80fow and the other fish a 17# king on s mountain dew spin doctor with a grn/gold fly on a mag dipsy 150 back on 1 . The next king 14# came on a stinger caramel dolphin on a rigger 75 down in 80fow. The last fish a steelhead came on a warrior naked veggies on a rigger 70 down in 78 fow.
  17. It was fun not catching the fish. After going 4 for 4 in 50 to 85 fow we went 0 for 7 on steelhead in front of the piers. We set up at 6:00 in 50 fow two miles south of the piers and went on a northwest troll. At 54 fow we took a steelhead on a dreamweaver lemon ice on full lead. At 74 fow we took another steelhead on a red/silver pro king on a dipsy ioo back set on 3. At 75fow we took a laker on a tin can with a green/white fly bouncing the bottom. At 83 fow we took a king on the same full lead. Then we ran back in to the pier heads. Our 7 jumping steelhead which are still out there came in 17 to 24 fow on red thin fins, pro king orange crush, stinger caramel dolphin, and pro king bumblebee. The water temp inside was 59 0n top and 54 15 down. I may make a few passes in there in the morning but I think it will be a zoo in there. I had the mud line all to myself this morning. Even though we didn't get any of them it was fun watching the acrobatics!!!
  18. Headed out again this morning and planned to run the same program as Wed. As we went out the channel we saw a steelhead caught off the pier so we spent an hour in front and didn't get a hit. The water was 58 out front. We pulled and ran out to 70 fow. We went 3 for three getting a steelhead in 74 fow on a mountain dew spin doctor with a green/gold fly on a mag dipsy 150 out on 1. A 14 pound king came on the same set up in 80 fow. The same set up took a coho at 120 fow. At 10:00 we pulled and went back in front of the piers for two hours losing two steelhead before catching one on a pro king bumblebee on a rigger 30 down in 42 fow. The last fish was a Laker taken on a pro king red/silver on a dipsy 50 back on 3 in 22 fow. We hope to be back out in the morning.
  19. Since we only got 4 fish on Monday north of the pier on Monday we decided to go south today. We ended up 11 for 13. We set up at 6:00 in 70 foot and went with the waves on a southwest troll out to 150. We had the 11 by 10:00 and then went the next two hours with nothing. We got 4 steelhead, six kings and 1 laker. King on Pro king bumblebee on rigger 45 down in 78 fow. Steelhead on pro king bumblebee 45 down on rigger in 82 fow King on purple/silver warrior on rigger 70 down in 85fow. King on blue/silver warrior on rigger 60 down in 90 fow. King on mountain dew spin doctor with a green/yellow fly on mag dipsy 80 back on 1 in 96fow. Steelhead on proking bumblebee on rigger 45 down in 96 fow. Steelhead on purple/silver warrior on rigger 60 down in 96fow. King on proking bumblebee on rigger 45 down in 104 fow. Laker on mountain dew spin doctor/mag. dipsy green/yellow fly 190 back on 1 105 fow. Steelhead on purple/silver warrior on rigger 55 down in 124 fow. King on mountain dew spin doctor/mag. dipsy/grn/yellow fly 175 back on 1 in 151 fow The bumblebee was a last minute selection as I had not run it for two years. Trolling speed was 3.0 at the ball and 2.7 on gps. Water temp was 64 on surface and 52 at 60 down.
  20. Finally got out for the fourth time this year. It was a very slow morning and no radio chatter at all. We ended up 4 for 5. We set up in 75 fow about 3 miles north of the piers and went on a 330 troll. Our first fish a 13 pound king came on a mountain dew spin doctor with a green fly on a mag dipsy 150 back on 1 in 86 fow. 45 minutes later we got a 10 pound king on a dream weaver lemon ice on a full lead in 78 fow. An hour later a 9 pound steelhead came on the same lemon ice in 89 fow. 45 minutes later our final fish a 10 pound steelhead came on a red and silver pro king mag came on a dipsy 80 back on 3 in 91 fow. We trolled out to 130 and back in to 70 with no more hits. I had 58 degree water on top and 51 down 70 fow. It was a great morning on the water!!!!
  21. It was my first time working with the kids for this event helping captain Bill on the Bonaventure. I think I had as great a time as the kids and hope to do it again next year. I thank the group that works hard to put this together. It is a great program to get the kids interested in fishing!!!!

  23. I don't think the bouy off the power plant is in the water yet. Hopefully it will be in soon!!
  24. We got a late start due to the storm and ended up 6 for 9. We went straight out of the piers and set down in 80 fow which turned out to be too soon. We went west and got our first fish a king in 123 fow. It came on a fuzzy bear blue dolphin on a rigger 75 down. The next king came on the same set up in 128 fow. In 135 the same rod took another king 70 down on a rigger. In 146 fow a coho came on a dreamweaver monkey shine 60 down on a rigger. At 157 fow we took a coho on a red thin fin behind a board. Our last fish a king came on the fuzzy bear blue dolphin 60 down on a rigger in 170 fow. The surface temp was 47 and 70 down was 46. Have a great day on the water!!!!
  25. The first trip of the season went well fishing with my dad and my son. We ended 14 for 14. We came out of the pier heads and didn't show much on the graph we we went deep. We set down in 180 fow and headed west. First fish a king came in 193 fow on a fuzzy bear blue dolphin 55 down on a rigger. The next king came in 199 fow on a red thin fin behind a board. At 204 fow we hit a double both coho. One on a green/orange pro king 35 down on a rigger and the other on a red thin fin behind a board. We then trolled out to 220 with no more action so we turned and headed east. At 182 we took a king on a dream weaver mixed veggies 45 down on a rigger. At 160 we took another double. A coho hit a red thin fin behind a board and a king hit the dream weaver mixed veggies again. At 154 fow we took a coho on a three color lead running a red thin fin. At 121 we took a coho on a orange/green spin doctor with a blue/green fly on a dipsy 80 back on 1. At 118 we took a triple. A coho on three color lead with the red thin fin. A coho on the fuzzy bear blue dolphin 45 down on a rigger and a coho on the same fuzzy bear 50 down on a rigger. At 104 we took a king on same dipsy and finally at 98 we took a king on a dream weaver mixed veggies 45 on a rigger. We then went the next hour and a half trying to get our last fish and we never got it. The surface temp was 47 and 46 down 50 feet. If it doesn't storm we will be back out in the morning. Have a great day on the water!!!
