  1. if your going to be an addict, you picked the right drug,LOL. it only gets worse (better) great fish, have a great fishing season. sherman
  2. just go to ebay and type in uv light. you,ll get like 8,596 choices. or you can type in uv flashlight and get only uv flashlights. they are really pretty cheap. sherman
  3. im really going to miss him, i really hate to hear he,s gone. i enjoyed talking with him. he believed in his product, and i do to. i love the slide divers better than any of the others. my heart felt sympathy goes out to his family and his friends. sherman
  4. it seems most all you guys agree with me on this. you cant get away from having some blood if you take pictures. but you shouldnt ban kids from being on the forum just because of alittle blood. and yes some people in this world do go to the extream. and im not talking about this forum. all the pictures i have viewed on here were a real class act. but the thread on the other forum started off with close up shots of the hole in a squirrel with the brains hanging out. and the pictures were sensored. but there was a good shot of the squirrel with blood on the side of its head that was left. which i thought told the story just fine. but then there was some coments about banning kids instead of sensoring the pictures. and i just wanted some of your thoughts. and you guys never let me down. sherman
  5. ok guys and gals, im going to tell on myself. im on this other forum. there was a post about bloody pictures. and some people thought everyone under the age of 18 should be banned from the site, so there wouldnt be a problem posting gory pictures. i myself just see no reason to post bloody gory pictures of our kill or catch. i dont mean there should be no blood. or you couldnt post anythig. but it can be done with alittle class. i for 1 think these forums are a great place for our young to hang out. i think they have the chance to learn ethics, that they might not be able to get anywhere elce. i think its a great place for them to learn about the sport of fishing and hunting. i would much rather our posts be censored and have my kids and grandkids be hanging out on here than down on the corner doing god knows what. i think we as sportsmen should be honered to mentor to our young. and i always try to do that even out here in the real world. now what do you think about our younger generation being on this forum?? and do you believe bloody gory pictures are needed to impress others with your hunt or the fish you,ve caught?? sherman
  6. i drive a old motorhome around alot. and dont know what it is, but everybody has to get in front of me. even if i have to slam on the brakes to keep from running over them. i guess they think im going to slow them dowm. when in fack most of the time they slow me down,LOL. i usely end up having to pass them. and with a motorhome you have to have a good passing zone. just venting alittle about the guy that thinks mh,s cant run 55,LOL. sherman
  7. you,ll be happy with the convectors. there much better than the magda,s. i spent about 6 months watching ebay to get all the sealines i bought. and i lost a few auctions. you really have to invest alot of time to get enough of the sealines at a good enough price to save enough money to make it worth while to buy them. sherman
  8. another good reel is the daiwa sealine sg27lca , if you can find these on ebay for around 60.00 each for a real good used one or even new one. i have bought 12 of the sg17lca reels for 45.00 to 65.00 then put the power handles on them you have a great reel. and most of the ones i got were brand new or looked and worked like new. i like them much better than the convectors. but to answer your question yes the 30 size convectors should work just fine for what you want them for. i bought some of the 20 size to use for walleyes on erie and they are great reels for the price. and they really should be big enough for what you listed you wanted them for. just my opinion. sherman
  9. i have to agree. to much bottle. i have never used the tekota,s but i have always heard good things about them. but just to much money for me. my favorite reel for the money has to be the daiwa sg lca reels. i,ve bought a bunch of them off ebay from 45.00 to 65.00 for them and most of them were brand new. i use the sg17lca but the bigger reels for copper and wire would work just fine. i have the convector 20 line counter reels and some of the daiwa accudepth plus adp17lc and they really arent bad reels for the price. but with the power handles on the sg17lca reels they are in a much higher class than the convectors or the accudepth plus reels. and when i can pick up the daiwa sg lca reels for the same or less money than the convectors then im going to go with the daiwa,s. the only reel i got off ebay that didnt work right i contacted the seller and he paid to ship it to tuna toms and have it repaired, and i didnt even have to file a dispute with ebay to get it done. but on ebay if you get something thats not as described you can file a dispute, and get your money back. i bought all new power handles for my sg17lca,s and the adp17lc,s from tuna toms. just makes them a whole new reel. sherman
  10. happy new year, and may this be a good year for all of you. i have only been here since spring, and they have made me feel like i belong here. and im from down in the hoosier state, and do most of my fishing on erie. but they are a friendly bunch on here. good fishin to you all in this new year. sherman
  11. well if i can survive the month of jan i should be ok. right now my favorite niece is planning on moving to tenn from fl. so she will be in tenn the 11th of jan. so my wife and myself have our eyes tested on the 9th, then on the 10th we will go to tenn for about a week. then we will come back home. then about the first of feb we,ll start to fl, then we,ll stop in tenn again for about a week, then on to fl, we have some close friends in jacksonville, so we,ll star for a few days, then on to ft pierce. we plan to stay with my older sister. and then my other sister and her husband has a 19 ft boat. so around the end of the first week of feb i should be doing my ice fishing from his boat,LOL. then by the time i get back after the 1st of march it will be time to hit the maumee river for eyes. then its time to really start fishing. so i will have just survived another winter. everybody just have a great year. sherman
  12. i dont think it will work near as good as the floro leader material. i was using the floro fishing line for leaders, and switched to the seaguar leader material, and it really seemed like my hits picked up. im not 100% sure or if it was just a percieved increase. but i havent looked back. but then i dont really go through that many leaders except just the start of the season, then i just replace them as needed. and for the few extra bucks, if im happy then its worth it. i mean with all the hundreds of $$ spent on gas and lures if it does help just alittle or even if it just makes me think its working better then its a few $$ well spent. no?? sherman
  13. it sounds like its in the fuel system i believe. sounds like either a filter or the fuel pump. if you,ve changed the fuel filter and the fuel water seperator then you need to check the fuel pump out. sherman
  14. yep, here to. i can take everything off my boat in just minutes. then when i put the holders back on i can make adjustments as i need to. i love the tracks. and the slide mounts for my big jon riggers. then if i just want to take the family down to the lake for a day playing in the water everything comes off. sherman
  15. nice video, i,ve seen her like that after we traveled 200 miles to go fishing. needless to say we didnt fish on those days. we have went up and fished on sat, then get up on sun morn and just load up and head for home because the water didnt let us fish,LOL. sherman
  16. i think your going to find that its a personal thing. i like using 6' rods myself, because i use 3 divers on each side, and it just makes it alot easier to get my diver rods out over the dr rods when putting out divers, and bringing them in to the back of the boat when bringing them back in. your probably not going to find many guys that like using short rods, but it works good for me. sherman
  17. i went to the cannon tracks and ratcheting rod holders this year, and i just love them. this way i can adjust the holders to the sweet spots, instead of just mounting the holders in the barn then when i get out on the water say i wish i had mounted this on 1/2" this way and had turned that one about 1/8th turn that way. now if one needs moved just alittle i can move it. i bought most of my holders at amazon.com for like 65.00 each for the single axis which i like the best anyway, i dont remember what i paid them for the tracks. but they wasnt that bad. my riggers are mounted solid and i am happy with them, but they do have swivel bases and slide mounts so i can take them off the boat and store them in the pole barn. sherman
  18. thanks for adding the pictures. it just adds alittle something,LOL. sherman
  19. hey prop nut

  20. i,ve heard that wolf season might not be to far off. i would like to see them put a bounty on them darn yotes myself. i hate them things. sherman
  21. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,LOL.
  22. god, some of you guys sure bring back some good old memeries. before my health got bad, i use to do alot of rabbit hunting, ice fishing, and a few other things. like taking my kids snow sleding at the hill at our local lake. my legs are to bad for the rabbit hunting. and i might be able to do the ice fishing with a power auger. my heart wont let me drill the holes by hand. but i will be going through all my fishing gear before next spring. and im trying to talk my wife into making a trip to fl for the month of feb. if we do that then i can stay busy untill the walleye start running up at the maumee river. and i plan on fishing it this spring. you,all have a great new year. and thanks for sharing what you do in the cold winter months. sherman
  23. hey boy thats a great job you did on that toon. if i was in the market for one i would jump on that price. its easy to see your not wanting much if anything for your labor. good luck. sherman
