You can also use the spring from the pen if you loose the original one

I found that the inside of a ball point pen will work to replace the broken pin by just cutting it to length and crimping it so the spring clip stays on. And putting alittle tape on the end to grab when you want to release the board. This fix can be done on the water if you need to. Sorry but dont know how to post pics. With my phone

Went to look at an 86 starcraft Islander that a buddy wants to buy. It has a inline 4 cylinder omc with a omc outdrive i have never seen before. The outdrive had a big rubber boot between the motor and outdrive , amd the motor had a trim motor on the front in addition to the power trim. Anywon know much about these ? Why two power trims ? Any pros or cons? Omc any good?

No, its not on lake michigan, its 25' ,260hp,autopilot,rocketlauncher,rod holders,ect. 3 hr drive from my house so i wanted some imput before i make the drive.

What sell me on this boat is that is a tiara, the seller claims that they handle rough water better than any other boat in its size,thats what i thought too,is that true?,are they better than bayliners,sea ray,slickcraft,grady whites,ect. I know its old but i dont want to have of $$ ivested in this sport so that old stuff is what im looking at. Currently fishing out of an 18ft starcraft holliday with an outboard. So not to picky on an upgrade. Just dont want to spend more than 6-7k

Found a mid 70s Chris craft for sale,with an 8 cylinder Volvo I have not looked at it yet. How well built are these boats? Its 25 ft.

I'm thinking of what to run on my riggers, low diver, and high diver to get them all work together. Normally I got a big paddle and fly on one rigger. Clean spoon on the other. Spin doctor and fly on the wire divers. And clean spoons on my braid divers. It works okay but this year I am not getting the bites on my divers. But that's what I love to catch them on. I. Only get out two times a month so I want to be as good as I can. What is your typical spread like?

Can you run swr on a rigger and run stackers or sliders? I would think the long leader length would loose a lot of bites. Anyone try it?

I have a hummin bird 580 and have the same problem. My transducer is away from prop wash and down far enough that it sprays water when on plain. I don't know how to fix it either

Leadcore will move up and down in the water calum so there is no precise chart. Current,speed,waves,turns,lures all effect its depth.but the chart you have gets you close. Being in the right depth area with the right lure is more important than being at a specific depth.lead core waves up and down witch makes it so good. I just don't have much luck with it. I get most of my fish on divers. Hope this helps.

We caught several lake trout out of south haven yesterday that had golby's in their stomachs. My question is do golbys live everyware in the lake, or just near shore. Do they suspend in the water, or stay on the bottom? Should I run baits that resemble golbys when we fish are riggers on the bottom? What spoons look like golbys? Thanks for the info

Good job landing the fish, we fished south haven at the same time went 7 for 9 , 4 lake trout and 3 dinks. 45 to 70 ft with around 60 being the best. Great day for a shakedown cruse.

The baitrix and better than bait strips look great they may work better than the real thing because they glow and are UV. Does anyone use them? You run them just like a fly right? Were a meat rig you run clean cause it spins on its own
