  1. Fished Saturday nite 7pm til 8:30pm: Straight-out no boats. 6 for 10. Mag spoons, with blu on em, riggers, 90-110 down, 100-140 fow, took 7 hits. Guppy meat rig on wire mag-dipsy, 225 out took 3 hits. Fished Sun morn 5:30am-10am: Straight out lotsa boats. 2 for 4. Glow Blue Sqwinchee fly, spin doctor, PowerPro reg-dipsy, 250' out took 2 hits. Spoons took 1 hit. Same meat rig took 1 hit.
  2. Fished last Thur nite: 4 for 6. 5 hits on riggers 60-80 down in 120-140 fow with white glow flasher/meathead and double-glow blue flies. 10lb-16lb kings. Fri morn: 3 for 5. Same rig. Same water. 60' and 115' down on riggers. 3lb-12lb kings.
  3. Took Junior (2.5yrs) out for a couple hours and he got his first wally! I held the pole and he reeled it in...mostly. We landed 5 and had 7 on. Most came 20-22fow down 19 on a rigger with a char harness or a pink twinslam 40' out behind a deepsix. Straight-out of Hoyles.
  4. Fished from 9:30am til 1:30pm. Probably boated 40 fish...13 of which were legal. Kept our 10 between 16-19". Noticed that the fish were either 15" plus or were in the 9-11" range. Must be a couple diff year class fish. Hot rigs were floating Smile blade harnesses on bottom bouncers/riggers...green or char...with half a crawler. Other 'hot' rig was a Glow Blue TwinSlam tagged with 1" of crawler, 6' behind a DeepSix (with WallyJack), out 40'. It took 4 keeper fish and no dinks...possibly the decoy spooks the dinks away? Or the spinner is large enough to keep the lil guys from hitting? We fished this rig a couple times last year with the same thing happening...all 'big' fish.
  5. I didn't clean the fish we caught but a buddy that cleaned a couple said his fish were stuffed with all sorts of bait including smelt, small and large alewives, and shiners!
  6. Fished Manistee Thur nite: hordes of bait and a quite a few hooks. Spent last 3 hours of daylight between the 9's and the 12's. 40'-160'. Not a rip. Fri morn: too foggy for me to run so we hit the pierheads 1 for 1. 12lber on a Jplug 50' back, 25' down on a slide diver just inside the south pier. Got back to the 11-12's about 10am...still lots of bait in 85-90' but very few hooks. Walked the piers Sat/Sun with the kids (while everyone else fished the calm water! ) and saw alot of alewives. Biggest was 4". Lots of small ones...
