  1. Sounds like a sweet night to me. PWater is one of my favorite west side ports. Never a lot of traffic, and fishing has typically been the best out of there for me. Nice job....
  2. Sounds like fishing to me. 15# steelhead, I would like to have that on the end of my line. Last year we had the best fishing out of Pentwater in the middle of September. Thanks for the report. Good Luck...
  3. Sweet job! Good report. If I had a nickel for every time I had to keep changing lures to keep em' coming to the boat.
  4. She liked catching it, but didn't want to get all fishy by holding it:no: Whatever, I had to get a picture of it, as it was a great looking fish.
  5. Here's a picture of the steelhead my wife caught...
  6. Good luck Frank. Talked with one of the guys at my marina, they've been going for perch. Today not so good, yesterday OK. Not setting any world records but getting a few.
  7. Great day to be on the water. No one out other than myself and a few others this morning. Started out in 21fow on the north side of the bay. Marked fish all over the place, just couldn't get anything to go. Tried in that area for a while, and finally decided to go out past the point and look for something else. Didn't take long and we finally had a release. 3 color leadcore Stinger scorpion chicken wing, hottest overall spoon of the year for me, over 42fow and my wife reeled in a nice steelhead. Worked out a little further in hopes of more steel. Had another release, another good one, only to get to the back and find a healthy catfish, which came on the 4 color leadcore Northport nailer prototype bronze color w/a green eye. Made a turn back around, put down some riggers and a dipsy out. Went back over where we caught that steelhead and had 2 more releases, one more catfish and finally something that I believe was a walleye before it came undone. 3/4 for the day, weather was perfect. Will post a pic of the steelhead later. Oh ya, skeeterdone, thanks for the help.....
  8. Nice work Frank! That one sure looks like a pig!
  9. Here's a link for you. http://www.fishmanistee.com/content/view/163/61/
  10. I always carry a flare gun on the boat:tease:
  11. Thanks Rogerh69, my wife and I will be in town for Saturday night and part of the day on Sunday. Grandma will be taking care of the little one so I thought a night away is in order. Now if I can put a few fish on the end of the lines and the weather is nice, should be a recipe for a great day.
  12. Looking for a little help. The lady and I are going to head up to Tawas for some fun on Saturday. Hoping to do some fishing, but have never been out from Tawas before. Walleye??? Salmon?? Steelhead?? Brown trout? Just looking for a little info.
  13. Just bustin' your chops:grin: I will say however, that this past weekend out of Frankfort it was rough. Southwest blow on Saturday, and then the wind turned out of the north. I don't think the wind was that bad, but the rollers were telling a different story. 3-6' with a few bigger mixed in, but they were rolling real nice. I'd love to see 28', but don't think I would plan a fishing trip around it........
  14. What the heck are you talking about???? Where is this report for, the Berring Sea???????
  15. Hey Eric, I'll be in Ann Arbor working all week, when you want to meet up and make good on that side bet?????? The weather was the one variable that really messed up everything, not to mention those boat issues first thing Sunday morning. But we got it going and pressed on. We caught an 18 # king just north of the harbor on the way in, biggest king in our boat for the weekend.
  16. What a tough weekend. The weather was not what we wanted. Hard south blow on Saturday, and Sunday it turned from the north, and screwed things right up. We netted 7 saturday night, 5 kings and 2 nice steelhead. Sunday all we could find was 4 kings. Worked an area north of the harbor on Sat. night and caught all of our fish in that general area. Went deep for the steel, 2 color lead, blackjack spoon is what they wanted. One of the steel put on quite a show. Back to the same spot on sunday deep looking for the steel, they had moved. I don't think we were the only ones that couldn't get it going on sunday, that's fishing......
  17. Sitting here at the rental unit waiting for tournament control to make a decision. Little windy up here this morning so we've been delayed. Storms to the west could be hit or miss, had a little shower come through. Hopefully in another 45 minutes we will lknow if we're fishing or not. WIll check in hopefully with a report later........
  18. Well boys and girls, I'm all packed up and ready to hit the road. Heading over to Frankfort for the Benzie Frenzie this weekend. Will be fishing out of my BIL's boat, hopefully we can find some fish. Has been a long time since I have fished for salmon, not too mention this will be the first time out of Frankfort ever. Have always wanted to fish up there, but just never have. If anyone else is out there from the site give me a hollar, Husky Jerk.....Good Luck...
  19. Sorry to say I am glad they hit the pier. Not to be rude, but I have been out many times after dark, and even taking it easy but not knowing the lay of the land that well makes me uneasy. Glad they hit the pier and not another boat. Ludville is one of my least favorite ports to come in at night. Bottom line is go slow! Especially at night, when not familiar with the area. Not worth it, being a bad a$$ and winding up on the pier. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE....
  20. Sounds like a good day. What time's dinner????
  21. Boltman welcome aboard. Great site, great people with good information......Good Luck
  22. AB that's something I've wondered about for a while but have never tried. I will give it a whirl next time I am out.
