  1. Yowsa! That is what I like to call a pig!
  2. Frank, you ruined it for me last year when I fished off Priority 1. I seen first hand how nice those trees were. I was just waiting for the right deal, and by george, it found me. Won't be long and I'll be up that way. I have some work to do to get my new toys mounted to the boat. Now the next deal I am looking for is a rocket launcher.
  3. Yes, he will be looking for more of these
  4. When are you looking to move this? Is your boat so large that it would require permits? What other pertinent information can you share. I have access to all sorts of equipment
  5. That would work. I am getting the decals for my boat this summer. I won 2 siberian husky's, and some would say I am a jerk, hence "HUSKY JERK". "Cranky Yankee"
  6. :jump:Well, did I fall into the deal of a lifetime today. A good friend called me this morning to offer me a deal on a pair(2) triple bird trees new in the box. Closeouts at his work, $53 out the door. With no hesitation I said done. Will be meeting with him next week to pick up my new accessories for the boat. Oh I can't wait to get them on the boat!
  7. "Pole Dancer"
  8. "reel jerker"
  9. That it was Edward, that it was indeed!
  10. Congrats. Better get your fishing in while you can:grin:. My 1st daughter is awesome. #2 will be here in early August. Good Luck to you both!
  11. Thanks fellas for the insight.
  12. I do have a 4hp evinrude Light Twin She's Old, but one pull and she's good to go. Recoil need to be fixed and that 's it. Would let her go for a reasonable offer. Used it up and down on the Tittabawassee this weekend. Only forward no reverse.
  13. Well I can't believe the deal I have come across. A few years ago I was working on a job where we needed to bring in a dumpster. The neighbor made arrangements to unload some of his trash. He throws a 9.9 2 stroke longshaft Johnson outboard in there. I asked what was wrong with it, and he really couldn't put his finger on it. Well a good buddy of mine has went through it with a fine tooth comb and she is up and running for $110. I already have the mounting bracket for it which shouldn't be any issue. What I am wondering about is steering. I know there is an arm I can connect from the kicker to my IO, but I am thinking the main can do all the steering. Just looking for some insight from you fellas who have any experience with this sort of thing............
  14. Nice work T6. We have had great success 2 years in a row at NB. When they are there, isn't much they won't hit on. I love it down there. Good Fishing!
  15. That's great to hear. I mentioned it yesterday to the guys, the bigger numbers of fish I think speak loudly on how good the bay is going to be. Can't wait to get into them off the boat. Now we'll wait and see what next years catch is. I also mentioned the kind of weird spring we've had. I thought there was a chance that the numbers wouldn't be there, meaning that maybe they would have spawned an went on their way. But I think those cold temperatures that have been just hanging around set up for great fishing on the opener.
  16. Looks like a sweet day to be on the big water. I know it is early, but have read a lot reports lately with lake trout in them???? Is this more than normal? Or is there any overabundance of lake trout? Sweet work Mike!
  17. Made it to our spot Friday night waiting to 12am to hit the water, it was more like 8am for me, but a few others hit it Late night with nothing to show. Started of drifting/jigging, landed a nice 21" right away. My buddy in the boat landed 2 more, and we decided to go have lunch and a few pops. Took a nice nap and got the itch to finish out my limit. I am not much on the jigging, so I set up and trolled a firetiger hot n tot with 30' of line off my LC reel. Finished up my limit in no time (45 minutes). This opener was one of the best for the group of guys (15 of us). Some of us fished for our limits, others were a little more interested in the brews. In total we brought in 47 walleye:grin: There were a lot of other people near us fishing, and they were all nailing em too. Everything was good until that rain came. River was up big time this morning. The dock at Gordonville was underwater. Didn't wet a line this morning, but did talk with a few that did, and doesn't sound like we missed anything.
  18. Well looking at the clock, should have lines in the water in 26 hours & 12 minutes. Going to the titt. with a group of dudes for our annual outing. Some years we don't catch much other than a buzz, and others we do pretty good on the walleye. Haven't seen any trophies since I've been going, but I would bet there are a few lurking around. We usually drift and jig, sometimes we anchor and toss out BB with harnesses, and once in a while I'll try some cranks. What is the most productive presentation for walleye on the river for you guys?
  19. I don't think the time matters much, it will be busy in the morning. I would pull off to the side, get everything together, get your ropes where you want them and give'r hell. There's only so much you can do by yourself. I wouldn't worry about the other people. We have all been at the launch and some days are better than others. It is a plus when you don't get ridiculed by others, waiting is just part of it. Moaning about it isn't going to speed anything up, and if someone has something to say, well who cares.
  20. I am sure of it. I looked all around the marina and no one there had them.
  21. I would like to add this. If I am fishing for more than a day at one port, the gear stays on the duration of the trip. I have only had one thing stolen from me at a marina, it was my dock bumpers of all things. Could not figure it out, I had, oh lets say $2k worth of lures, rods, reels everything out in the open, and they stole my bumpers. Guess I got lucky that the thieves were not smart.
  22. Nice work on the fish. Same story in NB. The only difference for us was no brown or king. However, there was a nice 13-14lb king at the launch next to us when we came in. Looking forward to getting out there with you! I think the Ho's will cool off in the Joe, and the kings will pickup. Real nice way to start your season. Oh yeah, 1 question???? Did you get paid for our wager from Frankfort???????? I sure am thirsty
  23. I always take my gear with me. There is always a chance it will get ripped off. Thought about putting a lock on the cuddy, but I don't think that will stop someone for long. Depends on where your boat is. It only takes a minute to put things away, but it took some time to gather all that equipment. With the economy the way it is, and desperate people in all. I would rather be safe than sorry.
