Once the little guy was not feeling it, I decided to end the day on a good note. Packed up and headed in. Wanted to make sure he had a good experience. He didn't do any chumming, and was happy to be back to the dock. Shortly after I got everything put away, and we got on the road the wind really picked up and it started to downpoor. Talk about good timing. It was nasty!

28-32fow. Went 15/18 on the eyes today. Fish were biting a little bit of everything. 1.4-2.2 mph. 3 color leadcore with the buckeye scorpion spoon, 4 color leadcore chicken wing scorpion spoon, DR 1-1/2' off the bottom OPS scorpion spoon, BB with harness 45-90' back northport nailer c36 prototype off the DR, 5 color with fishlander silver confusion harness It was real nice all morning. But once the wind started coming so did the waves. One of my buddies on board today was a 6yr old. He was having a ball catching all of these walleye. When it started to build he looked a little pale.

Well, this is no good. I think there were yet people who hadn't expressed the desire to fish this, but put it off. I would have loved to see this happen, as it was absolutely a great time last year. Enough crying . I put this event on 4 different sights and didn't generate the interest I thought it would.

Good talking with you this weekend Frank. Keep the pressure on em.... I finally was able to do some fishing on Sunday. South of the point, 28-32fow. Took a little while, but managed our limit for Mike & I. Here's what took fish: 3 color lead, mi stinger scorpion buckeye spoon 4 color lead, fishlander silver confusion harness, this had the most hits of the day. downrigger 1-2' off the bottom, mi stinger scorpion OPS 2 oz bb 65 back with home made harness 3 oz bb 45 back black & yellow harness. All good looking fish, nothing huge, bunch of good eaters....can't wait to go and do it again!

I know exactly where you're talking about. I don't like to be crowded out there either.

Thanks for the report Frank. Were you right out front? Or did you fish where we did last summer? I am heading up tomorrow, a little fishing tomorrow (maybe), for sure on Sunday. Give me a shout on the radio if you're out there.

Welcome aboard Ryan! I have gone 2 time to Erieau in Ontario. It was well worth it each time, any day you can go catch 17 steelhead and a mess of walleye at the same time...well you catch my drift. The numbers last year were even better. I did not go, but, my friend who took me b4 caught a load of fish in one day, almost 50, which just boggles my mind. I want to say that later june and into july are the good times to go. check it out! YOu will have a ball.

There is no dispute here, however, the shortsidedness of the state to generate revenue may overlook these points.

Ok, so who can we talk to about this seriously to express concerns as a group. You know the worst part of all this, is the state is desperate for cash, and may see this as a way to generate revenue. While doing so, they would kill the fishery slowly. If that happens, I would like to see a group of sportsmen get together and sue the commercial fishermen. I personally don't see anything happening with this, however, there is always a chance that things can go the other way.

That is a great day of fishing for sure! Not only good numbers, but some nice sized fish for this early.

We had that same bird come aboard Phat Phish. Started a little later than GLF. Went south a few miles, and set right on top of a good pod of bait. Got one off a DR, it went from one side of the boat across the other. Wrapped up around the DR cable and broke off. Soon after that, the wind changed direction, and it started to build in a hurry. Pulled lines and ran back to port. Just wasn't meant to be today.

They don't just catch walleye! Seems those walleye sure look a heck of a lot better on the open water. IMO
