  1. Nice job, great to hear that your youngsters were in on the action, and to top it off 9/13 is a great day...
  2. Sounds great! Drop a line if you need a rider anytime. Is the marina the last one on the south side of the lake/beginning of the channel? If so, that's a great marina, and there's a bar / restraunt right there...good luck
  3. Put the down riggers away, get the planers out and run some LC and longlines off the back. People will love it!!!! LOL
  4. Nice work on a tough day! I was fishing that same depth and did not achieve even close to that...wish I did!
  5. Great concept, but from the looks of that machine and it's implements, it would be like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
  6. Nice boat man! I'm a little biased as far as thompson's go, I mean being a thompson owner myself. MY 87' 210 fisherman has treated me well, and it fishes really well. Enough room for the lady and I to snuggle up for a night if we want. Good luck with it...
  7. Wow, from the lack of responses ti looks to me that there is not a heap of meat fishermen here. We were in Frankfort a couple weeks ago, and they had meat at the Tackle Box. Maybe give them a call and see if they could point you in the right direction. The lady was very helpful when we were in there picking up some lures/bait. On a side note, a few years ago a guy that was fishing with us made his own. He made it out of a couple different varieties of fish, and to my surprise it worked!!!! Good luck with your search
  8. Nice batting average! Can't argue with that.
  9. Frank you have just been rock solid all summer. And you get a couple of bonus steelies...great. What is the close of the season gonna bring? And, what is in store for us next year?
  10. BINGO! Then there is the bath house, I believe it is south of the point. The projects are south of the harbor between ludville and Pentwater.
  11. The sun was shining, and you got a few kings. Nice. Every year I do the same thing, and it gets me all fired up about salmon, because you and I both know that the eyes are tasty, but don't fight near as good as those ugly salmon.
  12. Yup, with the way things are shaping up you maybe able to harbor patroll and get into some nice kings. Also to the south of the harbor there is a little bowl, if you will, that holds fish. It's not very deep where the bowl is, but it drops of just enought 10-15' to hold fish. You can also make a run up to Onekama and fish the barrel. Or go straight out to the shelf. There are way too many areas up there to fish. We've gone all the way down to the point, fished straight out front, the barrel. Don't hesitate if there is cold water in tight to go shallow in the morning. GOod luck and keep us posted.

And onekama is a short drive from there. good luck Here are a few somewhat close to onekama. GOod luck
  14. Have not tried it, but don't see why not try it. Maybe tie it on the leader, with a 5 foot lead or so. Let us know what you come up with. Also I think they make a jet40 too
  15. Look at the picture with Will kneeling over those 4 at night. Looks like he's thinking "man this is the cats meow". Next time he'll be jumping all over those rods, saying "let the big dog eat, woof"
  16. Frankfort sure is a sweet port! Nice job on the feeeshhh!
  17. I run my own business, for the past 10 years I had been doing building/remodeling, however the bottom kind of fell out, so I moved onto another venture. And since I've started the new project it has been an uphill battle. With the climate of the economy I would be prepared to "get by", and like the others said, you need to have a lot of pokers in the fire. Things started off pretty good last fall and then it kind of went south. But lately business, for me, is booming and on the way up. One of the biggest things is to have vision of what's down the road and not the here and now. Also I think attitude is very important. Networking is good to, the more people you talk to about what you are doing the better, you would be amazed the results of knowing people in diverse industries. Best of luck to you
  18. Looks like you really nailed em again!!! Nice, real nice!
  19. Handlining for salmon??? Heard of it for walleye on the Detroit river. Lucky you didn't cut your hand. Nice job on the fish
  20. Almost spooled twice???? Sounds like an epic battle!!!! Bet that was a riot
  21. Good thing for patience! You see all kinds on the water, and it will blow your mind the crap you see people do. You're right though, he was lucky there wasn't any damage done to your hall, that my call for some kind of talking to. Glad to hear you kept cool about it, sometimes you just want to scream. But when you think back, would it really accomplish anything??? Maybe fist to cuffs. I learned a few years back that the best thing to do when something happens, is to go through the proper channels. If that means getting the law involved, don't hesitate, do it. If you don't, and lose your cool it could easily be you getting in trouble, regardless of the fact that someone ran into your boat. One other thing I like to keep in mind is the amount of insane imbusiles(sp?) that are out there. Last thing I want to happen is say something to a person who just did something stupid and have a gun pulled on me!!!!!!!!! because people can be just that damn stupid.
  22. Your ladies smile says it all! Nice work. And AB is right, that is a beauty coho there, and the king awesome color. Nice job on the fish. On a side note, I commend you on putting safety first. Wearing your life vest is a great move on your part.
