  1. So fill me in, if I was to buy something like that would I also have to sign up for internet service? Or does it pickup the WIFI? Or what's the deal? I would love to be able to get on and check mail and reports etc? Just not sure what all is needed to make these things work....
  2. John, that's awesome that you were able to put that much time in on the water and catch some fish. Looking to see if you could go into a little more detail, lure selection, water depth...etc. Thanks
  3. It is surely looking good as far as I can tell. 2 years ago we caught a lot of little ones as well, so this is just a sign of good things to come. I wish a few of them were perch....yum...
  4. Same spot, same M O, same results. Lots of little guys and one dandy 5-6#er. Going to have to try a night bite and see if we kind find more keepers. I bet by days end between all of us we had caught 60-70 walleye, with only a few keepers between us all. Big one was caught on a jig w/minnow.
  5. Okay nailer that is some awesome fishing right there man! Nice fish Mike!!!!! So now how are we going to be able to forgive nailer for the delayed reports????? How bout GPS coords, lures, depth everything that went into you putting together that great haul of fish:lol: J/K man! Nicely done. I have been pretty busy all fall doing other things, but after a report like this I sure am inclined to give muskegon lake a whirl, those are top notch fish.....
  6. I did catch fish, but I did not land one keeper, but you're right at least there were 5 caught amongst the group. It sure was fun this morning.
  7. Last fishing report of the year fellas. Found our way out onto the ice of the saginaw river today between saginaw and the z bridge, new spot I have never been to before. Fished 15-20fow. Caught a lot of walleye, too bad 95% of them were not legal. Between 5 of us we caught 5 keepers. Blue/silver jiggin rap #5 was top producer, pink and purple buckshot spoon came in 2nd. I had a good battle with a real dandy that I lost right near the hole, got a look at him 2x and he went bye bye. Ice was not great, 3" for the most part, which is not what I like to be standing on. Anyways, it was a stellar fishing season and a long one this year. I predict that Saginaw Bay fishing will be nothing short of phenomenal again next year. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  8. Ditto, wish I had a time machine to fast forward to spring/summer. In the mean time there's plenty to be done to get ready for next year... Jay D, that is one dandy fish in your new avatar....nice!!!!
  9. Ouch! I feel your pain
  10. Yup I am toying with the idea of mounting my kicker this spring, but looking to possibly upgrade to power everything, just a little worried what the price tag will be
  11. The longer the line the less likely I am willing to grab it and reel it in. It usually goes to the same guy time after time LOL:lol:. Thanks for the chart....
  12. Nice work fellas. I NEED A BREAK, I'm starting to freak out. It's been too long with no fishing. Ate some eyes up for dinner last night and my supply is being depleted. Only way to take care of that is to get out, and from the looks of things AB will be having a tasty gill dinner also.
  13. I would love to put on a chartplotter w/cartography. Have new fishfinder. Going to put a 9.9 kicker on in the spring, would kick @$$ to put on hydraulic trim/tilt to that, along with an auto pilot. 3 new Rods / Reels and that should just about cover it. By the time I'm done gettin the boat the way I like her, it will be time for a new one. THen the madness can start all over again.
  14. Done! Just remember when you're at the wedding and you have your hand on top of hers that it will be the last time you have the upper hand. Best wishes....
  15. that is no joke either. milk jugs just don't cut it
  16. Thanks for the info, I'll be calling them next week...
  17. We've got a local celebrity amongst us! Glad to see that you got some exposure, expressing the concern of the sportsmen:superman: Sportfishing = $2-$4 billion dollars. Hopefully the outcome of this case is good for us and not for the commercial fishermen. What I really hope happens is that when they argue about the amount of walleye that choke the nets currently, and the amount of dead loss of non target fish they tell him to fish somewhere else.
  18. I no longer run in lines off my boat, however, while fishing with jay d I was able to see the advantage of this release. THey rock! Easy on, Easy off. You can release the line from the planer in a very short amount of time, to get right on the fish~ Phatty will be getting a few by spring time as a gift, and am sure he will see the light....
  19. Thanks for the report AB! It's cold as can be, hopefully things firm up quick... Did you see any deer?
  20. That's good, something along those lines. Prison wasn't that bad....
  21. I know, better start strategizing now.
  22. Can't believe it's already been 4 months! Time is just flying by with 2 kids. Amber is amazing and grows and develops something new everyday. I've got my 2 YO Ashley all geeked up for fishing next summer. Then the following Amber maybe ready too. I love my girls, but think that 2 is going to be the magic number for the Wheelers!!!!
  23. did you just double dip your chip?
  24. Appreciate the offer, we opted to fish out of the boat on Lake Michigan this year instead of hamerring the rivers in the UP for out trip. We have always found fish in the UP and in good numbers. However, next time we make plans to come that way I will make sure to get a hold of ya. Sounds like a trip over the winter to get some through the ice maybe in order.....
  25. Been there done that, this won't last long once you make it. It magically disappears. Making my mouth water just thinking about it...
