  4. I guess I missed the point, which is compairing copper to leadcore. I "heard" that copper is about 2/1 on it's dive to lead core. I always believed that LC was going down about 5' / color, and have heard more and more it's more like 4' ish. So if that is true it looks like it is roughly 2 : 1. Hope this helps.
  5. Both posts on this site are useful pertaining to the depth that copper achieves. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18709&highlight=copper+depth http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17186&highlight=copper+depth+charts
  6. Matt..... Fished Arcadia this weekend. hit the herring hole and the barrel. Straight out there were fish and out in front of the golf course too. Saturday the temp was down about 70 by Monday morning in 60FOW we were getting action 30 down, which appeared to be where the temp was at. Plugs were best. green glow ladder back, green glow splatter back, uv / glow splatter back and white with blue polka dots (silver horde), which I recomend changing the hooks before putting in the water. Also meat rigs. moo moo and green worked. Blue bubble 11" flasher with blue fly and mt dew with a yellow glow fly. 8" spin doctor and white fly. Pretty much every presentation, plugs, flies, meat and spoons all took fish, however plugs took the most for me this weekend.
  7. OH BOY! I always wish the lions would be a competitive team, however they never seem to be on the level of all the other teams. Don't have the answer either, maybe this is their year. That poor guy hiking all that way in hopes that his "gitter' done" attitude will rub off on the Lions....well for his sake, I hope it's inspirational to the lions.
  8. Knock on wood, but everything I've been looking at looks favorable for the weekend.
  9. I concur with salmon seeker, you're definitely going to want the line counters. Not only will you be able to calculate how deep you are, once you find that sweet spot you'll be able to get the presentation right back in that zone. Takes a lot of guess work out of it
  10. I have been from the school of thought that you run a V pattern. Deeper to the inside and shallower to the outside. This was confirmed by another buddy of mine who seems to have a firm grasp of what to do.
  11. You have confirmed my suspicion
  12. I will be running 4 divers this upcoming weekend. I just picked up 2 new to me cabela's 8' depthmaster inner flow rods w/ sealine 27's at a great deal. what I plan on doing is running the 8'er's to the inside and then run my 9'6" rods as the outside diver rods. I think this makes sense, at least in my mind. Also it was mentioned earlier in the thread about current pushing your divers, I tend to believe that your riggers will also be pushed by this current avoiding them tangling. This is just MHO.
  13. Thanks for the report. AB you're right. Slowly but surely we're starting to see a few more reports, with better catches. Hope this is a sign of things to come. When you're at the bottom there's only one way to go:grin:
  14. That's awfully cool of you to tow that guy in:thumb: You will be rewarded with good fishing:grin:
  15. Yup, nice job Richard. I'd be game for a trip on Lake O'. All of these reports and all the nice fish:D Let me know Mike & AB...
  16. BIL has the 196 Fishmaster with a 115 4 stroke merc. And IMO it's a little doggy. Needs a little more motor in my eyes. If I were buying another boat and the seller was not going to allow me to take it for a ride and test it out, I would move on.
  17. Paulywood is absolutely correct, however it will still work. Do yourself a favor and learn this willis knot. It is not overly complicated, and it has never failed on me. [email=http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13665&highlight=knots]http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13665&highlight=knots This will allow you to tie up any sort of core that you want ie... 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5 - 10. They all have a place in my line up. And yes Magnumdeke use it for walleye. I have been doing it for 3 or 4 years now with success, even though this year was rather brutal on the bay for me personally.
  18. Great fishing. Thanks for the play by play!
  19. :thumb:More steelhead on the bay? Nice Frank
  20. Dang man...thems pigs:thumb:
  21. That boat is just sweet. Someday...
  22. I fished the Shakedown out of Onekema this year, we missed 2 fish that would have placed us top 3....that's the way it goes. Thinking about Frenzy, but just don't think it's in the cards this year...we'll see. Good luck out there!
