  1. I was talking with one of my buddys who has a vacuum sealer and he mentioned how he marinates food and then seals it. Says you pull it out of the freezer and out of the vacuum pack and it's already flavored and ready for the grill:thumb: That would be nice too
  2. Case in point tonight. I pulled some kielbasa out of the freezer last night. Looked fine, wifey said it didn't smell good, smelled fine to me. One bite of that crap and that was enough. Going to look around and see what I can find the most bang for my buck. Will have one by weeks end next week...... Thanks for all the input fellas
  3. I would, but don't have your # anymore...you got mine
  4. I would definitely put some meat in your spread somewhere. Last time for us it was on dipsy's 180 back #3 moo moo and the other side was 280 back #3 moo moo. Good luck. Let us know how you make out. Pentwater has been very good this time of year in the past....
  5. Thanks for all the feed back. Some of the burger and chix in the freezer that I have tossed due to freezer burn is less than a couple months old, so I'm annoyed with meat going bad in the freezer. I take my salmon to Stout Trout SMokehouse in wellston on the way home from fishing. They vacuum seal it for me and I have had some in the freezer for better than a year that tastes just like the stuff freshly smoked. This is what I'm trying to achieve with all meat. Like you all I'm sure from time to time you put things in the freezer and forget about it. Rather than throwing it out I'd like it to be edible still
  6. Eric, you put that boat away yet? Starting next weekend I'm hoping to be out every weekend til november 1st.....get a hold of me...could always use another person interested in going. BOat's in Arcadia....
  7. Hey guys, I'm sick of pulling meat out of the freezer only to find it freezer burned. I've heard good things about this food saver: FoodSaver - Advanced Design Vacuum Sealer Kit - White Model: V2240 Looking for any input from you dudes in regards to positive and negatives about any food savers you have owned. If you were buying one which one would you go with? and Why?
  8. Looks like a day that we are all looking for weather wise, lucky you! Nice looking ho'. Funny I picked up a spinnie real close to the one you have in the picture, hope it whacks some ho's for me too.....
  9. Great looking steelie in there!
  10. Nice job TW..... I think there is a good push of fish staging getting ready. Hoping this weather stabilizes at some point here. Looking to hit it as often as possible til november 1st starting next weekend. If the weather cooperates then I'll have to figure the best place to go out of, Frankfort? Arcadia? or Onekema.....? Thanks for the report. Those sure are nice and silver:thumb:
  11. Sounds like a good time to me. Those mean ol' darkies sure are fun to crank in....they're just plain mean...
  12. She don't look nice out there that's for sure. When we were out last Sunday there were only 2 of us in rough conditions. We ran 5 lines, and netting fish was a mad scramble. I know exactly what you mean:thumb:
  13. Keep it up Mike. Won't be long now and it will be time to yank the boat......
  14. Hey Josh, that's the way it goes some days. I was at the office all day working, would have rather been fishing. We can swap days if you're interested:lol: Keep on em...
  15. Cool vids man! Love the play by play...
  16. It was brutal up there both Friday and Saturday. When we fished it was rough, but not as bad as the two days prior. We made our way down to the beach with the kids Sunday eve, as the sun had finally poked out from behind the clouds and made for a nice evening. Wouldn't you know it, we get down there and the waves are gingerly washing up on shore. Looked to me nearshore to be 1-3'ers, but that's the way it's been this year, horrid on the weekends and decent during this week. We left Sunday about bed time for the kids to beat the holiday traffic, and from what a trustworthy source said they fished Monday morning for a little bit and were into shore as it was picking back up in a hurry.
  17. That's a brute by my standards Rich! Nice job.
  18. Oh yeah! Sounds like a ball with the kid:thumb:
  19. I hate it when the forecast is for rough seas and they are actually right. Here's a few shots of the piers. So no chance of fishing Friday or Saturday, as it was just brutal out there. However, we were able to fish on Sunday. Still bumpy but it was manageable. Went straight out and dropped lines in 50FOW on a west troll. New meat rig (MOO MOO) and white paddle on dipsy #3 180 back was taking hits. Were 3/4, with 2 of those fish on MOO MOO. Put another Moo Moo on the port dipsy #3 280 back with a 8" puprle pearl spinnie. Last keeper fish on a rigger 71' down with a green spinne and green meat head. 6/8 for the day, 5 of the 6 came on moo moo. 80 -100 was best. 5 kings and a real nice coho to boot.
  20. Yes, horrid forecast. Was hoping to fish Saturday early and into the afternoon. Doesn't look like from every forecast that I have read. Looks like Monday Tuesday of next week should be good. Hope to get out to the pier regardless this weekend and take some footage and snap a few photos, so once I return to a PC I will share some pics.....
  21. Sure would be nice if the forecast was dead wrong....unlikely. Supposed to fish Saturday. May launch north one port and roll south to the dock if it is "managable"...
  22. We're planning on fishing Onekama on Saturday and if the forecasted weather holds true I am hoping that my BIL will launch out of Arcadia and ride the waves back to Onekama, keeping the beating to a minimum.
  23. Nice job Tom. Have always wanted to fish up there, just haven't made it yet. That screamer on your dipsy was probably a 30#er
  24. Real nice looking fish. Looks like a fun time:thumb:
  25. Agreed, and I believe that speaking clearly and with respect helps too. Now when done fishing I usually put my fillet knife on on my belt, in clear view with no more intent than to fillet up a few fish and maybe whittle a stick or two. I would imagine that this falls into the same category. In plain view, and the intent is not unlawful. Great question, as I have often wondered about this too.
