  1. No way dude! Been checking the webcams along lake michigan, it looks BRUTAL. From the looks of things you couldn't even troll the harbor in Ludville......
  2. Last trip planned for the 1st weekend in November. We'll be there regardless of conditions, plenty of beer to be drank, but I would really like to get out one last time as good as the fishing has been lately.
  3. I have come to the conclusion that leadcore typically dives about 4' per color, so roughly full core (10 color) is around 40' deep. for "45lb" Copper sinks approx. 7'-9' for every 10 yards. which should land the lure btwn70 & 90' deep

  5. R I P! Mike is right, the great lakes claimed more lives this year than normal. Not only fishermen, but also beach goers. It makes me respect the lake even more, and I realize the inherint danger that is the lake. Good luck to all and be safe!
  6. Reads like a good unit. Unfortunately I don't need a FF too. Wonder if I could just run this as a GPS / chartplotter and not even install the ducer or if this would make the unit not operate correctly????
  7. did you sell this? And if not, is it a FF / GPS chartplotter combo? I'm looking for a GPS / Plotter, don't need a FF. Thanks
  8. That's a great day on the water. Let me know next time you're looking to go, we can swap. You come in and work for me in the office and I'll fish for you? Sound good? Just kidding. Nice looking fish....
  9. There are decent #'s of coho around. Hopefully this weather will hold for the weekend. Need to move the boat to Onekama for a couple of weeks and pick up 24# of smoked fish.
  10. Sure is a fat daddy steelie! NIce job!
  11. Keep your eye on the forecast. They changed it today. Some gales coming. Not sure about Whitehall, but where I'm looking to go they're calling for 3-6'ers. Orange spoons! We've had good luck up at little point, haven't fished there this late in the year. Good luck Be safe
  12. I was going to say tangled mess as well!
  13. Is the one another slob coho?
  14. Years ago I fished a few WI rivers in the fall and caught a few salmon and some coho. I thought it was the Racine river, but I was looking at a map and it could have easily been the Root river, which rings a bell..too many beers and too much time in between to be sure. Check out a map of the area and see what rivers are in the area that connect to the big lake and that will give you a good starting point. I like to use www.flashearth.com for satellite imagery along with road names. Good luck in your search and let us know how you make out. Oh yeah, it does not look like a far commute from where you'll be in IL to check out any of the rivers in the area...
  15. Interesting indeed. I wonder with all of Sag. Bay's walleye spilling out into lake huron if they will follow suit with some sort of a lessor limit of fish as well. If you keep your eye on this issue, please update this thread....thanks
  16. Nice job Ed. I'm hoping that the water conditions are manageable this weekend cause I'm looking to hit it. That is some great action in a short time frame!
  17. Nothing short of spectacular. Every fish pictured is a slob:thumb:
  18. Nice job on your personal best!
  19. Definitely a nice rig. Looks like it floats no problem....how does she catch fish????
  20. I'd be interested, however due to my super busy schedule this winter attendance will be questionable depending on the date.
  21. There ya go Mike:thumb:. Hopefully it hauls a$$
  22. Sounds like a good time to me. Saw a lot of geese this morning on the way to work, even saw and heard a guy shooting in a field on the way here. There are too many other places I'd rather be than here.....
  23. Here's a few pics. 12.1# HO
  24. Fished both Saturday & Sunday this weekend. No lack of action, but with a few lesser experienced anglers aboard catching them was certainly a challenge. Saturday 11/16 Riggers: 70' down. big white paddle white fly 41' down, small (3") j plug blue back 51' down, small (3") j plug green back super screw 7 color 125 & 175 CU spoons dipsy's 1 @ #3 spinnie fly 180 back 1 @ #3 double orange crush 109' back short cores were dead. At one point we had a quad on, that almost turned into 6 on at once. got 5 of the 6 to the boat. Ended the day 11/16. 5 ho's 4 steelies. Threw back 1 laker and a small king. More of the same on Sunday, altered the spread slightly, biggest change was the j plugs were dead today. ended a megar 4/13. Lot of opportunity, couldn't get them to the boat. Deep diver was taking good hits today with the big white paddle and white flly down about 80' according to the chart, maybe 4 or 5 hits. Broke off the biggest steelhead I've seen. 91' down on the rigger double orange crush, fish b lined and made a few awesome leaps out of the water and then my buddy broke it off...... Weather was fantastic, action was good, I wish I was back out there right now!
  25. Nice job! Looks like good fishing on both sides of the lake this weekend:thumb:
