  4. Welcome aboard Jari! Good group of fishers here. I wish I could take a look at your pics, can't seem to open the link......?
  5. I will give'r a rip next time...
  6. It's possible that I did not. But, those filets with a little bit of ice were real nice I was thinking the same thing last night. Boat's in the driveway which is a sad reminder daily that we're done for the season......
  7. Looks like a great day on the water. How big is that lake?
  8. 3 boats, one day, good fishing. Dusted the snow off the boat Saturday AM . Launched right about the time the sun was coming up. Kicked on the mr buddy in the cuddy to take the nip off. Car was registering 27*. Ran out to 150FOW and put it on a west troll towards the same way points from the last few times out. Just like clock work, hit the area wof the 1st way point and we started taking hits. Little bit of everything took hits. Lost a little bit in the confusion of the action. But finished our 5 hour trip 16/24. Kept 13, 9 steel and 4 salmon. Kicked back 3 other nice steelies. Here's what worked: 125 CU Starburst 5 hits 175 CU Superscrew 4 hits 9 color BLUE/Purple/Yellow 3 hits 5 color lemon ice 3 hits 3 color double orange crush 1 hit DR 48 Down green dolphin 1 hit DR 92 down flounder pounder 1 hit DR 92 down/slider mixed veggies 1 hit DR 72 down peters monkey shine 1 hit DR 34 down red veggies???? 1 hit Kind of lost a little detail in the action. At one point we had 3 on when the rigger @ 48 started hammering, lost that one on the rigger too busy with the other 3, landed those and then a 4th and 5th came in shortly after we got the 3. Here's a few pics: Our box All 3 boats fish Carnage 3 boats took a total of 32 fish to the cleaning station. Was an awesome day to round out the year. Tried to get out this morning. No wind on shore, drove to the piers to get a look and looked great. By the time we got to 100FOW we hit a huge wall of water, decided to turn around immediately and head in.
  9. Sweet. thanks for the report. Been eying that craigs xmas...hmmm may put one in the arsenal by the weekend
  10. Nice pics GLF. It sure was a beauty of a day. Limit of steel to boot..luck dog!
  11. If you've got an outboard you have the opportunity to fish as late into the year as you want. Just make sure all the water is out of it, and when a nice day presents itself it's FISH ON.....
  12. Checked out the web cam again today and wondered what in the heck I was doing at work. Headed over that way tomorrow, unfortunately I have meetings all day, snap
  13. The do a great job. Like Jay mentioned, you can load up the rod tip down to the ball, and set the release behind the ball for lite bites. I actually bought them to use for walleye, and they worked very well compared to any other release that I had used in the past.
  14. Ah.... The salmon fishing sickness started with my cousin on his Slickcraft. Boated a lot of fish in it. Big and stable. Have fun and good luck
  15. Check out the chamberlain releases for downriggers. You can set the release tension both horizontally and vertically. I like mine:thumb: Here's the link http://www.downriggerrelease.com/
  16. It sure looked like a nice day to be on the water. Checked a few web cams on lake michigan and was really wishing that I wasn't working....lucky dog!
  17. Good group of guys here Ben. Make yourself at home....
  18. Yeah, that's a dandy. We like all kinds of fish porn, not limited to browns.
  19. Sad, but true:lol:
  20. Yeah, looks like a great deal......
  21. Walleye fishing I usually run 4 per side on the big boards, I also run a down and out along with 2 riggers of the back. If conditions will allow I try and put a big spread out. Trolling salmon I have been running 3 per side on the boards, 2 dipsy's per side and 2 or 3 riggers. I round it out the best that I can to maximize and utilize every attack method and then adjust once the fish start biting.
  22. It's like the rest of us. Always want more to put in the spread. I've said it before, every tactic I try has it's days. Somedays the dispys are dead, others it's the lead and the CU. And this can be the same with lures. I've had days where I wished I had more meat rigs, and others that meat rigs didn't do squat....it's good to have a diverse tackle box that you can adjust your spread once the fish tell you what they want..
  23. Looks like you been having some fun when you can:thumb:
  24. I have watched this too many times, never gets old:thumb:
  25. Welcome aboard. Some days you can't keep the divers in the water, they're smokin hot, other days, they don't do squat and you feel like throwing them in the water
