  1. yeah Adam I read this earlier today and thought what a travesty. Shame, and the effects it could have. Good news is, they are sending a crane to get it out of there. The curious part of that is, how does it take 3 days to get a crane over there? Seems like somebody in this situation, especially if a business, would be in a hurry to clean up the mess.
  2. Yeah baby. Looks like it's all the way across. A little more cold and it'll be time
  3. You got that right Adam!
  4. That's really good action Excuse the question, but what is a pine martin
  5. Congrats!
  6. Some great looking eyes there
  7. + This is a true statement. Answers to questions regarding fishing only help to shorten the learning curve. Beyond that the best teacher is experience, and it takes time to gain that. Learning is progression, and if you can take away a few new tricks/tips from others because of the advice given then your questions have succeeded, and in turn benefits all who read. Seems to me that networking with a group such as this benefits everyone. From talking on the radio and exchanging information about where/what/when, you can never have enough information and you are constantly looking for more.
  8. Yowza... That's quite the incidental catch.
  9. I am interested in what the legalities of this would be. If they were a licensed recovery company I can see it, but if it's a group of people not a business...hmm
  10. You too Mike. Hope you have a great day buddy!
  11. Good job on the eyes. LBM is Linwood beach Marina
  12. they will handle 3 color no problem, but again the retrieve isn't the fastest. I prefer to use them on downriggers
  13. It looks as though he is teasing you a bit I do hope you get em!
  14. Sounds good Mike. Any hint as to who/what will be there to present?
  15. Great looking fish:thumb:
  16. A STriper? Pretty cool
  17. that's a good haul. Too bad they're out of season. But, good to feel anything tugging on the end of your line. If they're in there, there must be some other fish in there too. Maybe they're just in there so thick they are out competing....
  18. You don't "need" riggers, however, I understand how it can get old to manually crank those up. With 2 guys usually autopilot would be a nice addition, yet at the same time, a kicker would be nice to conserve on gas and get you out of a pinch if your main let you down. I would go with kicker motor. Put a 25HP on the back of mine this summer, next year I'll fine tune and try and figure out something for an autopilot.
  19. Nice job. Love to see those coho too. If you have a pick or let me know who makes that spoon that would be cool. I have left one dipsy in the water for the past couple of trips, with a flasher fly and it hasn't done squat. Next time I'll throw a spoon on it and give it a whirl
  20. Sounds like you don't have to go far to get em'
  21. I dabbled years ago with smoking my own, and just could not get it "perfect". It was always too dry, or the flavor wasn't quite right. Some of the information here sure seems helpful. It's been a while since I smoked my own. And one thing I have noticed from the place that smokes mine is the incredible flavor, the moistness of the fish. These dudes have it down to a science. They must add spice during, or more likely after smoking. Here's a photo of some vacuum sealed This is lemon pepper. If you look you can see the pepper on the fish. Anyway, I think that smoking is a labor of love and like anything else only gets better with time.
  22. I concur about the pancake weights, not for me. I run 3 12# round balls.
  23. From what I understand after reading that is Nunns looks primarily like a walleye planting facility, which is great! And the DNR also plants about 250K salmon there yearly Here's the link http://www.fws.gov/midwest/ashland/TribalIndex.html
