Fished a lake in Lapeer county today. 1st time ever to this lake, and let me say how happy I am that I purchased a vexilar last winter, it sure eliminated the water quickly and I was able to find a spot where the crappie were. Kept maybe a dozen, nothing that big, good eaters about enough for a meal for myself. Fished 30FOW with a pink & white halis with a brown nose on it with a wax worm. Fish were biting from 2' up off the bottom to 10' up off the bottom. Nice to see those marks following the presentation up. Now I need to go out and catch some more fish.

Awesome. Did a double take, thought possibly you were ice fishing at first. But I don't know anyone who uses walker DRs to ice fish with. Great walleyes! -
That sounds like a dandy Brook!! I'd love to see some pics if you have any. Chromers thru the ice.....

That thought has crossed my mind several times after viewing the live cam in December. With frigid temps, but dead flat conditions on the lake. Someone is just messing with us.... I thought when I posted that pic it would stay the same as the day I posted it, but apparently it updates a live pic, and I mean that day I posted it was FLAT -
I need some duct tape, w d 40, and some ball bearings and I am good to go You're correct. Routine maintenance is too cheap to miss, and in the long run will save $$$$$$$$$$$ by keeping you out of the shop or parts store.... This fall when I pulled my outdrive we found water in the bellows. Simple fix come spring time and we're good to go. Not sure the extent of the damage to the bellows, as there was only a cup or two of water in there, however, that's enough to prompt me to take care of this instead of waiting until it is a bigger issue...

I should have had a slow period in business between thanksgiving and xmas, when in reality business increased. This along with a few other indicators means we are on the right track

Hoping that '11 is better than '10. Every indication so far is, that it will be. Happy New Year guys

There is a little more to this scenario as well. It as become quite clear that we need to find and produce more oil here on our own turf and quit relying on foreign oil to fuel our needs. Unfortunately no one is giving the green light, too much red tape to get thru crap to start drilling where we know there is oil. This is a big part of the problem, and a great solution. Like mentioned above, we are crawling out of this crappy economy. And these "speculators" predicting gas prices is certainly not going to help anything. The one thing that I see happening will be less disposable income for everyone across the board. Now this will not affect the wealthy as much as it will affect middle and lower class. Simply put, prices go up, spending will go down and dig us right back into another hole. Funny how the mention of drilling from Obama can drop fuel prices significantly, which leads me to wonder exactly how much power these damn speculators have?????

I'm looking at them as well, any input would help narrow down the selection for sure.

YOu could look into copper too. Deeper faster with it.

Surprising with all the excitement that they're not up @ 0330 ready to rock. Merry christmas fellas. Here's to full coolers and bountiful hunts

I have been checking the webcam a few times weekly to see what it looks like out there. almost everyday this week has looked like this. Ironic eh? We surely do not have these conditions during prime time, but when no one is able to get you have this......
-
Sounds like a good start to Christmas

My buddy, who owns the house where we were fishing has made contact with the RAP line. Only time will tell. It's thought that whoever is responsible for this could be someone in the neighborhood. We'll see if anything comes of this.

I believe it would be illegal to shoot this deer in the area that it was likely shot.

Hit the ice again today. Fishing was slow, had to really work for them. bounced around a lot today. on our way in for lunch, my buddy, found some blood. followed it, found a little doe at the end of it, someone possibly poaching. fatally wounded doe, gut shot.

Put a little bit of Tabasco in there. We put those green onion chutes diced up in there too. Hard to go wrong with any kind of smoked salmon spread:thumb:

Greetings from Team Rascal.

Good to have you on board Ed. Tight lines:thumb: -
I heard from a wise man some time ago, figure out what they want and give them lots of it. Case in point, one one particular outing this summer we were fishing a few meat rigs, spoons and plugs One meat rig in particular started taking fish, it was Moo Moo. After 2 hits we put out a 2nd Moo Moo. Couldn't keep either rig in the water. One on a DR and the other on dipsy. We had another out that was green, but the moo moo took multiple fish (6) and more hits also. But at the same time I have put it out on other days and not even a sniff. It's good to have a diverse box of lures, and put them out until you have dialed in the recipe. I am going to order a few of those brads cut plugs and give those a whirl next year too. you just never know

Hope you have a great holiday, and like said above......is it spring yet?

Took the day, 12/16, to fish a lake near lansing. Fished the same lake 12/11 with 2.5" of ice. With all of the cold weather there was certainly quite a bit more ice, up to 8". Top 2" was white from the wet snow. Anyway, we kept about 40 gills and 2 pike, both right about 30". Started at 10AM and quit @ 5PM. Waxies for the gills and pike minnows on the tip ups. It was a nice day to be out of the office and be on the ice in the outdoors.
-
I'd go nuts. " gotta go, gotta double going"
-
I was in the Lansing vacinity on Saturday and I'd say we were on 2.5" of ice. With all this cold things should start shaping up, the only thing that is going to hinder the ice is the snow

That's great news....however, I know that my time is likely to be very limited. Hope you have good reception on your cell phone
