  1. Our 9 & 10 color were good with a plug this year. And then I would go with a 6 or 7 color. The real deal is I couldn't just have 2.....
  2. They're both pretty simple once you run it a few times. Just make sure you tie the knots right. Copper will get you deeper, like I said you'll end up with both.
  3. It's never ending my friend. you will continue to add set ups year after year. You can't have enough. If you have a 7 & 10 color you will want a 10 color, or a 5 color. Too many options out there
  4. Oh yeah.... don't look @ the webcams.... Kicking myself for not going
  5. Move his out to the side, I'm bringing the Husky Jerk down instead. Sorry Bushwhacker! Next weekend looks really good at this point Eric! See ya up there
  6. Just got back in, dropping off the 1st limit of the day. Heading back out after a cup of joe and a sandwich for more!
  7. I run braid, haven't switched anything over to wire YET. I may. BUt the above sentiment sums it up. I made a few adjustments this year with my dispys and it has put more fish in my boat in years past. I'm not opposed to wire, and think that it's just like anything else. The more time you use them the more confident you are in the presentation and the more productive it becomes. Good luck
  8. Sounds like a good start to your day!
  9. Yeah, I'll be there. Looking for riders, 14' aluminum 9.9HP...who's with me?
  10. I always tell my daughter, and now she tells me, you get more bears with honey
  11. no brains, no head aches
  12. Sounds like a good wack fest! Keep after em!
  13. We had a real crazy one last weekend too. Squirrelly fish running all over. I did modify the way I set my booms last weekend. The down and outs out to the side 90*, and only the one rigger down the chute, it opened things up and seemed t really open it up even more.
  14. I have walkers. I have 4, but only have 3 on the boat. 4' arms. 2 perpendicular going off the sides and the one out the back extended to 4' too. Never really seem to have any issues with them getting in the way of netting fish.
  15. Certainly sounds like an adventure of sorts. I'm with ya man. Sometimes you just have to roll with it. As bad as it sounds, you'll look back on this in years to come and I'd be you get a laugh out of it. Then when Squeaky is old enough you can tell her all about it.
  16. You're correct Frank. We had a gal at our corporate office that would send messages in all caps, and in pretty colors. We here in our satellite office really got annoyed with it. Finally it was addressed. It certainly isn't profesional, and for someone with an education should be common sense. We always wondered if when she contacts any customers or contractors via e mail if they felt that she was mean cause she was always yelling.....
  17. Nice job. We frequented the area for several years chasing fish around the rivers. We sure enjoyed ourselves. Keep after them.
  18. Hit the lake yet again this weekend. We had some good action, and didn't get as many to the net as we would have liked. Saturday went something like this, since I didn't have my log sheet I'll do my best to recap. Started off the AM at the same waypoints from 3 weeks ago. Put out a dipsy with happy meal on it, turned around to set the rigger, turned back around and the dipsy was pounding, miss. Reset the dipsy and tried to set the rigger again, hear the drag screaming on the dipsy again, miss. Missed one more before we got any to the boat. We brought a triple to the boat. One off the rigger, one on a dipsy and one on the 250' 45# BRC with the Moo Moo meat rig, got all three. From there I can't really tell you exactly what worked, I can tell you that plugs were dead. Spoons, flies and meat were going. Ended the day 8/15. Here's the triple Sunday is a little more cut and dry.....7/8 Same location again, these waypoints are holding fish that are active. The bite started @ 645AM and is as follows DR w/ Green Jeans down 40 Dipsy out 120 with Happy meal 250' 45# BRC with moo moo meat rig - 2 fish DR w/ big white paddle / blue fly down 76 Missed one on the dipsy with a blue splatter meatrig out 125 DR w/ Black Screw down 57 Last hit of the day was on the blue splatter meat rig on the dipsy out 165 Good mix of coho in Sunday's catch.
  19. Glad you had a good time this summer, and that's what it's all about, FUN. Matt jumped on board with me for an evening trip one day. Good guy and like Dick said, knows his way around. Hope to get you out with me again before it's all over this year Matt...
  20. Thanks for the report Chummer. That's funny though, I just called to see if you were going to be up around there this weekend. Guess we'll have to catch up next year, same time, same place. Til then......
  21. Heading a little further north this weekend. Hope the weather holds and the fishing remains good. Tight lines!
