  1. I can't get on board with the thought that a slot limit will solve the Asian Carp potential nightmare. I can however get on board with the sentiments that it is an issue that there are too many differing opinions and that more research and testing will utlimately take too long and interim the problem will extend into the great lakes and ensueing is the potential disaster that they could wipe out great lakes sport fishing. This will be a disaster caused by man, and I believe that it's high time that the powers that be get off of their keesters and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. We can theorize all we want, but in a practical world it seems that the revenue generated by the great lakes sport fishing community is pale in comparison to the shipping industry that uses the canal where asian carp infiltration will (if it has not already) occurred. Sure would be nice if we could get some officials not only to fight on our side regarding this issue, but to GET RESULTS. This has been an on going issue now for already too long, and the longer this issue persists, the more likely that great lakes sport fishing can put one foot after the other into the grave
  2. I wouldn't be worrying about what size you can fit in your garage. I'd be more concerned with what you feel is "safe" for what you plan on using it for. It's a personal choice, take your time and look around. It's a lot different when you find something you "want/gotta have", opposed to something that may suit your needs better. Good luck in your search
  3. What a nuthouse. It was worse than Ludington or Manistee on a busy day. The girls picked out a handful of soon to be hot lures and I picked up a new chartplotter with a free chip thrown in the deal, so no more flying blind at night. Did shake Dirty Dog & FishSniffer's hands today, nice to meet ya fellas.
  4. Can't take it, jumping out the window now..... Landed in the bush outside my 1st floor window. OUCH! Can't wait til next summer

  8. Thanks Alleyes, that smile she had told me the trip was a success.
  9. Different strokes for different strokes. My eldest daughter now 4, will catch pan fish with me and has no problem, nor do I, watching me clean the fish. I think it actually instills some sense of accomplishment, hey look, daddy is cleaning the fish we caught, and soon to be dinner. Blood is a by product of a fruitful harvest as an angler or hunter. Now by all means it's not for everyone, and in turn, the people that it is not for instill different values in there kids. Good example is my SIL, her boy likes to fish in their lake, but they refuse to use worms, because they're "GROSS". Well that has come from his mom, and now that he has heard that enough times he too now agrees with it. Which IMO is a shame. Took the girls perching a while back with their grandpa. 4 dozen minnows in a bucket, and for the 1st hour all they wanted to do was handle the minnows, which I thought was great. They also wanted to touch the fish to feel them. Not once did I hear the word gross or EWWW. Can't wait for these girls to show some of their wussy boy friends how to not be a wussy. Other peoples kids....I tell ya

  16. I was running howie last year, picked up a 1000' spool of the 45# Bloodrun this year, and as bloodrun claims, it is a lot smoother making it more user friendly. I was very happy with the ease of use. Can't wait to break it out next year.

  22. Yeah I understand it. And if that dude up there wasn't such a jackwagon about it I may have picked up a few other spoons or plugs to get the order to $25, but when you aren't polite about things I'll be hard pressed to give you a dime.

  24. I like the whole herring, for the simple fact you get more bang for your buck.. Not hard to brine and cure them yourself if you like. We typically just cut them up on an as needed basis right on the boat.
