  1. Had a fantastic weekend with the crew fishing out of Au Gres. Had a bit of trouble on Friday with my kicker motor running, so instead of wasting too much time I adapted and set out a spread of spoons. Jet 20s and 30s off the boards and mini dipsy's over the side. Just about everything was taking fish, with a few that took more than the others. Had our 2 man limit by 11AM. Texted Colvin before we were going to check a few other spots, he met us at the dock and off we went to another spot. Trolled there for a couple of hours and pulled 3, only one being a keeper. That was from noon until 3PM. Saturday was the same. Started off with spoons in the same spot and started pulling fish pretty quick. Only difference on Saturday was we had a few more boats fishing in the area that we had to ourselves on Friday. Here's our fish from Saturday Not enough to take the Cappy Cup or the Main Event, but enough for everyone to have a bunch of fish
  2. Fantastic Dick! :thumb:
  3. It was nice to shake your hand too Chummer! Same story for us. Worked very, very hard, for the fish that we did harvest. Wasn't fast n furious like the inner bay that's for sure. But I don't think that the hatch helped out the effort. Will be back up this weekend for another go round!
  4. Looks like some real dandies in there too P1! Nice job!
  5. It sure was nice to have her out with me. It's been too long since the last time, 3 kids will do that. Now that they're becoming older we can allocate more time to do things together, and when conditions are right we'll be taking the kids. Kind of my own lil' fishing crew. It's good to have a woman that understands this sickness they call fishing. She will actually suggest to me that I go from time to time, tells me that when I don't get some fishing in I get grumpy. It's a place for me to clear my head and not think about anything.
  6. That video is a nice way to start my morning.....
  7. Prepping "Daddy's fishstix" for tomorrow night's dinner....
  8. I'll have some when you're up for the Benzie Frenzie....and only a hop skip and a jump from Frankfort. If you lost the # I can give it again.....
  9. Was able to fish with the wife today solo. Left the house about 9 and headed to the boat. So got to the marina and launched and it looked real nice on the water, steamed out and got up on plane to the spot. Sat down and deployed the spread, inlines with harnesses. Didn't take very long and we had one in the net, about the same time the wind had kicked up and got a little white on the water. We drifted a pass a couple of times ending the day with 4. 2 on inlines and 2 on the bottom bouncers. Thought one that came on the bouncer was a cat or a sheep because it f'ing hammered the lure. Peeled some line off the reel and gave a good fight all the way in. JRs Cotton candy SS Hot lobster and a custom "discontinued" pattern ( glad i have a DOZEN)
  10. Killerbe20 is right on with this comment. I had used the core and started to get into copper. BRC is IMO the cream of the crop. Compared to the other brand I used, BRC is much more user friendly, smoother all the way around. And in my experience, it puts fish in the boat!
  11. I'll be ring side for this one....
  12. Being in charge of the boat I may have one or two on the water. Whatever the crew wants to do is fine. I'm sober.
