Manistee Late Report
nomas replied to Grizzly's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
Good job on the fish over there and thanks for the crawlers yesterday. We were running low and needed them. Couldn't keep the sublegal's off the line. Finished with our 15 around noon and headed in. Thanks again, Tom -

Ultamate OFF SHORE aluminum Ultimate Salmon rigging
nomas replied to prop nut's topic in Boats for Sale
Frank, Just wondering, but how much does a 22 Ocean Pro soft top run. Say with a 200/225 Honda and a kicker. Kind of a bare bones type of boat. Just looking ball park figures. Thanks... -

Big Jon Multi Sets. More rod holders for Priority1
nomas replied to Priority1's topic in Boat Maintenance and Rigging
Big Jon vertical trees for me. Would like to get a couple lead core rods and will have to buy some more core as well. Had a couple mishaps at the end of the season. -
Out in the bay probably on the E side somewhere. Maybe in close?? Looks like it's going to be choppy tomorrow.

I don't ice fish the bay because I don't have a four wheeler and I only live a few minutes from the river. So I fish that. During the spring and the summer I launch out of Essexville or Patterson Rd and fish the inner bay. Just depends what side I feel like fishing. East or West. Caught a lot of bigger fish early on, with a few 4-5 lb'ers and then one 9lb in June. Most of the fish we caught in late May and into July was the 15-20" fish.
-
What did you figure out? I fish the bay just about every weekend from April to July. I thought it was pretty easy pickings most of the time. There was a few days I struggled, but for the most part it was consistent.

I just won some apex lures over the weekend and have never used them before. Does anyone have experience using them and are the worth trying? Thanks, Tom

I was told bleach might eat at the threads? I need something so maybe I'll give it a shot.

I've noticed the cover to my bimini top is really dirty with mold and dirt. Any of you have a good product or home remedy to take care of this. Thanks, Tom

Cap't Dan, right now Meijer's in Essexville has them on sale. I picked up a couple packs for three something. I was there on Monday and they still had some left. Closing them out I think...

We fished the bay on Saturday as well and were done in less than two hours. Cap't Dan's spoons and purple blades did very well for us. Ten keepers, six throw backs, and ten drums. Worked west of the spark plug in 18-20fow. Tom

I've never fished there this early. I only have the 14ft'er ready to go so I'm also worried about the wind forecast too. I think I'm going to give it a try and also bring the perch rods and maybe hit the Sebewaing river if I can't get out. Tom

Has anyone been fishing the pier at Pt. Austin. I'm thinking about bringing the 14ft'er over and doing some trolling.
-
Cap't Dan, I already ordered some spoons from you a couple weeks ago. You dropped them off at my house. Thanks again. Tom

Tittabawassee Today.
nomas replied to Walleye Express's topic in Saginaw Bay Fishing Reports - Walleye
I thought about trying it Wednesday or maybe Thursday, but I don't know. Went back to the launch around 130pm and there was more flows than earlier in the day. DNR was there checking the two boats coming in. -
Tittabawassee Today.
nomas replied to Walleye Express's topic in Saginaw Bay Fishing Reports - Walleye
Just went over the Tibb at Gordonville. There was four trailers in the lot and the river was moving pretty good. Not a lot of ice flows coming down, but a few that were pretty good size. Tom -
Only one walleye I've cleaned this winter had something in it. I couldn't tell what it was because it was too digested.
-
Cap't Dan, Just wondering if your concerned at all about the amount walleye being taken out of the bay/river this winter. I know there is a lot of fish in the system, but with all carnage going on I'm curious as to what this spring and summer holds?? By the way, are you selling any spoon rigs out your house this year? If not, can you let me know when you send them to Frank's. Thanks, Tom
