  1. What he said.
  2. Just curious, what sizes are available???
  3. You guys are killing me! I didn't catch a single fish last year on a paddle... My go to lures last year were the regular mag spoons, Carmel dolphin was good to me, as well as the old stand bys. I also did really well on my favorite plug, number 4 Wonder Bread J. That thing was on fire for me this year.
  4. Mostly look forward to spring!!! Besides work and my side jobs, tinker around with the boat, buy new terminal tackle, replace lines and what not, ice fish, tackle shows, and make a few trips downstate. Oh, and winter steelheading when flows and weather permits.
  5. Thank you and to all you guys here the same!!!
  6. sweet vid there!! Man I wish it was spring already!!!
  7. Sweet looking flys! Where did you buy the little plastic collars that the mylar attaches too? Thanks!
  8. I have my boat torn up as well. 2008 Smoker Craft Pro Angler 161. I had a downrigger board that housed both riggers, 2 rod holders, a graph, and a rear driving lamp for landing fish. Am going to downrigger pedistals for next year, and rod trees. Mounting the graph, lights, and holders elsewhere. Running transducer cable for new FishHawk and Hummingbird gps/graph combo. I'm working at this a bit at a time, after all I have all winter.
  9. Sweet, thanks for the pics jimcr!!!
  10. yes, I would when you get a pic! thanks!
  11. Sweet!!! congrats, I bet that was a rush! Still waiting for my first bird.
  12. Ok, was cleaning out the "man cave" and I came across a storage container I forgot that I had, gotta love it. 15 new "J's", 2 dipsy's, about 30 spoons, some misc. and 10 packs of Berkley Trilene XT, which I bought at China-Mart(Wal-Mart) about 5 years ago. The line was on the clearance shelf, for a dollar a pack(box). Who knows how long it was on the shelf prior. So, you guys think it's still good, and usually how long does line keep in storage. It's been out of sunlight and stored indoors. BTW, it's 14lb. test that I'll use for river kings this fall... Thanx!!!
  13. P-Line CXX Xtra strong, clear, 20lb. It's the only stuff I use now.
  14. Mine are the lime green with silver colored prism tape, doen fairly well with them.
  15. Amen, been preaching the woes against Vanish for a long time, just ask Wolfman about the junk...

  17. Sweet sweet pics!!!! Thanks for sharing!
  18. I didn't mine, just threw it in there and it cooked with a slow boil. BTW, this is the BEST chowder that I've ever had, and Im not a soup/chowder person at all. I loved the stuff!
  19. i've seen some of those wood plugs, but I wonder if a chinook would "tear" it up after 1 use...
  20. I start using plugs right around this time of year. I love the Ace-Hi plugs, and J's. With the J's, I remove the front treble, less hooks to get caught in the net. I have a ton of plugs, but usually fish only 5 different favorites every year. WonderBread, double glow all glow Ace-Hi Canadian, Ace-Hi double glow Green and Blue Splatterback, and Bloody Nose everglow J's. When fish are finicky, I'll try the silver bodies with bright heads, like orange, red, chartruese, etc.
  21. can't wait to try this, sounds awesome! thanks for sharing!
  22. Thinking about pulling the trigger for one of those Hummingbird 788ciHD, any pros and cons for this unit? Am going to pair it with the LakeMaster card for MI. A buddy told me that I'm fishing in the stone age without GPS and plotting, so... Thanks guys!
  23. Old thread, but I got my lights installed a few months ago, what a difference! Bright even during the daytime. Kinda like a "crisp super clear" red tail and stop lamps all the time. No more excuses from other motorist "not seeing" you.
  24. They are in Frankfort as well. all of a sudden, 20lb. test looks like cable coming up.
  25. I have a lot of "J's", my favorite is the Wonderbread Everglo, that thing rocks. But so does the Ace-Hi Canadian splatter back and all glo.
