I had the same problem as well, the depth would stop reading, high boat speed readings stopped, mine was mounted on the transom, near the center of the boat, by the motor. I did all the adjustments, etc. and nothing helped. I then decided to move the transducer to the furthest point away that I could, remembering not to mount it too close to the trailer bunk. That did the trick for me, as I have very consistent reading now, even on plane! I figured that it was all from the prop disturbance. Hope this helps.

I've caught a few, but not a whole lot. Early spring I like body baits, jointed raps, rouges, bombers long a's, etc. When the water starts to warm, I get most of them on smaller spoons, Super Slims, and standard size spoons such as MI Stinger, Warrior, Silver Streaks, etc. I like to run the spoons deep with them spaced close together, up a bit from the bottom. find some structure and you'll find the browns.

I have a bunch of them and so far they have held up to my standards. when I bought mine, the tag on the rod said "1 year warranty"... Most of mine were purchased for 29.99, but this spring I went in to add some more to the colletion, and the same rods were 49.99!!! No thanx, these are trolling sticks, not some sensitive river rods...

For dipsys, you release the cam lever and lower the holder all the way down, parallel to the water, its not "locked" in so to speak, as the cam lever doesnt get tightened for disys. When the fish hits, just life the rod up, the ho9lder comes uip with the rod, you don't have to fight trying to "lift" the rod out of the holder. Jeff is the owner of Bluewater products, it's a small side business for him. He just has the "picture" site right now, as he was paying a really high fee to have it maintained. He perfers calls.

I want to say thank you also. This site is so easy to ask questions without being made to feel like a dumbbutt. Or not. I have a 17 ft. Smoker Craft and a stink bug stance Dodge Ram for my boat towing duties. The past few years, I've towed with my soft tonnoue(sp) cover off and the tailgate open, to see the trailer better when backing up to the ramp. I should say when the cover was on, I couldn't see the tralier at all, when backing up. Last fall I bought a hard cover never thinking about the boat trailer. Fast forward to this spring, as I'm prepping the boat I remember about the trailer. Crap! I start looking on-line and thru catalogs, but as I'm on a budget, I don't want to spend a c-note on tralier post guide ons. Today I had the boat out of the garage, rigging rods, etc. I get a bright idea and think why not use a "fiberglass driveway marker". The side trailer bunk guides are treated 2 by's with carpet on them. I take a utility knife, slice a small X into the carpet, pull it back, drill a small hole the same diameter as the driveway marker, and insert into the bunk. Worked like a charm, didn't cost me anything, and now I can see the trailer when backing up!!! laugh away, I did! Thanks for reading! Oh, the markers are removed during transport...

I'm with ya there, I struggle to get fish after the sun comes up. Before, no problem. Evening and dusk are my best times by far. But I'd rather get the big ones mid morning if I had a choice...

For me, if I buy one, I'll be getting the FishHawk X-4. The selling point for me is the no coated cable. I have a lot of newbs fishing with me, and I do have the cables jump off the track every once in a while from swingin the arms out, lifting the ball out of the water, and guys not paying attention.

Another 20lb. P-Line CXX user here. With tackle prices that keep rising, it's not worth it to me to fish lite line. Double glows are approching 9 bucks a pop, I want to keep that spoon or plug on my line, and not hear that sickening "POP"... Oh, and the price of Sampo swivels...
