  1. Ran the boat up from South Haven today. Had to wet the lines for a little while before we put it on the trailer. So....Started setting lines at 11:15am, and pulled lines at 2:00pm with a 2 man limit of steelhead. We worked 120-160FOW. Our speed was 3.5-3.8mph on the gps. We caught fish in every direction, but the best trill was West. 4 of our fish came on a stinger size craigs x-mas on a 2 color. 1 came on a stinger size craigs x-mas on a rigger parked at 15' with the bait stretched 100' behind the ball. 1 came on a stingray size blue dolphin on a rigger parked at 40'. Its a shame to have to put the boat away after a day like today.
  2. I was joined by Greg(Moosky31), and we ran the boat from South Haven to Muskegon today. I took some pics along the way and made a slide show video. I did not add any sound because I have been having bad luck with youtube canning my sound tracks. It was a chilling 29 degrees when we left in the morning. We had to scrape the frost off the wind shield. We left the pier head at 9:05am and shut down at 11:15am in Muskegon and started setting lines. We ended up catching a limit of steelhead and pulled lines at 2:00pm to head to the dock to have the boat pulled for the season.

  12. Welcome aboard Adam. Thanks for taking the time and doing an introduction. Lots of West wind this year should have kept the cold water in close on your side of the pond all season long.

  21. My hat goes off to the dnr's around the lake for trying to control the population's to make sure the fishery does not collapse. The lake is a huge body of water to manage the resources in. IMO it is still a huge guess as to how many fish, and what the forage base actually is. This was a very odd year temp wise for the lake. The wind blew out of the West all year long, and really stacked in the warm water. I question how successful the fish are reproducing in the Southern rivers. I think everyone will have a better feel for the fishery next year.
