    ATB's with a twist

I'm sure I am not the only one with this question. What does ATB stand for?
  3. Very nice Don! Now the mystery is solved.
  4. We will be doing the photo contests again this year. This years contest will again be sponsored by Siggs Rigs. This is a best photo contest. This year there will be 5 seperate photo contests that run from May - September. The winner of each months contest will receive $30 in flies(no flashers) from Siggs Rigs. Fish can be caught on any products. ie....spoons, flies, plugs, cut bait, etc, etc IF the winning picture was a fish caught on a Siggs Rigs fly, and shows the fly in the picture, you will receive $60 in flies from Siggs Rigs. All entries must be from the gallery here. I will start a new thread for each month for the new contest. The first contest starts 1 May. If you have any questions, please ask.
  5. I always have a Craigs x-mas in my spread. It pulls a fish on 95% of my trips.

  12. If you are running your cannonballs right at the thermocline, your sliders will be out of temp, especially if they are free sliding. This might be why your sliders are not working. How are you setting the slider why you set your line? Do you just drop it in? I always keep the slider line tight(I run fixed sliders) when setting lines. I hang onto the spoon and "sling" the bait to the side to keep it tight. This keeps the hook from getting tangled in the slider line. Make sure all of you hooks are sharp! Especially the ones on your slider. I usually run a stinger or stingray sized spoon on my sliders, and like to use a 5-6 for leader. 98% of the time I run them fixed, and usually they are 5'-10' above the ball.
  13. Nice job Grant.

  16. Welcome to the website Joseph.
  17. Sounds good to me.
  18. Well it looks like I missed the anniversary date for the website. This was my first post. The good news! The Great Lakes Fisherman website is now 5 years old, and we have 3,000+ members! Heres to the next 5 years.
  19. In the rules in each classifieds it states that members have to be a supporting member in order to post in the classified. When I first started this website in 2006, the classifieds use to be free to list items as long as a donation was given to the website if the item was sold through this website. After months of seeing items being sold, and no donations coming in, I made the change. This website operates with very little money coming in. It maintains a "break even" level, and I am happy with that! I despise websites that are plastered with advertising. If I have to jump through a loop to avoid ads so I can read something, I will move on to other places. The link Don posted talks about the 3 levels of supporting memberships.
  20. Anyone who is a Silver Level, Gold Level, or an advertiser will have the opportunity to set up a table for FREE at the Salmon Clinic on Feb 19.
