With The Season Approaching, Tell Us A Little About Yourself
GLF replied to eastcoasttransplant's topic in General Discussion
Name: Mike Heckman Age: 43 Residence Location: Otsego, MI Area(s) Most Often Fished: South Haven last season, 3 years before that in Musekgon Years of Experience: ? Boat Size and Info: 27' Sea Ray Amberjack Boat Name: GLF I started fishing with my father on Lake Michigan in 1975. We fished alot through 1979 when my parents divorced. In 1983 my father purchased another boat and we began salmon fishing again. In Dec 1985 I went into the worlds finest navy. I got out of the navy in Dec of 1989. In 1993 I got into bass fishing. I purchased a bass boat in 1994. As soon as the ice was I was chasing coho in St. Joseph. I got into tournament bass fishing in 1995, and found myself fishing tournaments all over Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. After 8 years of tournament bass fishing I got to a point where I did not enjoy bass fishing unless I was fishing in a tournament. I sold the boat in 2004. In November 2003 I started building our house. We moved in 1 April 2005. We made two house payments for 18 months. Our other house finally sold in Oct 2006, and I signed the papers on our boat the next day. I fished 3 years in Muskegon and the last year in South Haven. If we keep the boat, it will be back in Muskegon. I was playing around with domain names in December 2005 and came across this domain name. I opened the doors to this website in January 2006. If you build it they will come. -
First Trip out AFTER Winterization
GLF replied to eastcoasttransplant's topic in Boat Maintenance and Rigging
Amen to this!!!! Everyone should do a shake down trip in the spring. This is to make sure everything is running good before the first fishing trip. On my first trip, I keep an careful eye on the oil pressure and temp gauges for both engines. I want to make sure the oil pressure, and temps are where they are suppose to be. I like to work through the throttle ranges to make sure there are no misses or coughs when increasing the throttle, or the boat dies when coming off throttle. After the motors are warmed up, I like to do a RUN(WOT) for a short while(5-10 minutes). After my WOT run, I slow down to trolling speed(2.5-2.7mph on gps) for 15 minutes. During my trolling speed check, I am watching the oil pressure and temp gauges. Oil pressure and water temps should be watched during the entire season! Also.....check the expiration dates on your flares, and check your fire extinguisher. -
All of your info has been passed on to the owner of Yogurt Flies. Everyone should receive 5 flies each. Please fish the products for the summer and post fishing reports with fish caught on them. Pictures of fish and the fly it is caught on would be much appreciated by the owner. I would like to see a field test in August from everyone. Please start your own thread in the field test section. Thanks!

No more testers are needed for this product. Everyone who replied will be getting a sample package.

I think the metered parking on the streets is FREE on the weekends. The hard part is finding a spot. Are you working a booth Josh?
-
First time field testers will get first preference. If I do not get enough volunteers, I will let you test again.

Welcome to the website Dean.

Sorry guys, this has been cancelled. Please see this post for explanation.

I am looking for some people who would be willing to field test some flies. The owner of Yogurt flies has contacted me again about putting some of his flies in the hands of some of the members here who would be willing to field test his products. The last time we tested his product it was near the end of the season. He would like to give everyone a longer chance at field testing his products. Products will be delivered around the start of the season so you will have the summer to test it out. You will be required to write a review of the products. It would be nice to have pictures of the fish(including the flies) caught on the flies in fishing reports also. Please reply to this thread if you are interested in being a field tester of this product.

I am sorry to say this, but I am cancelling the clinics I was trying to line up for this year. I have exhausted all of my resources, and am not able come up with enough speakers for the seminars because of scheduling conflicts with other events/shows. I now realize that trying to schedule an event in February with all of the other events/shows going on is near impossible. I know some of you were looking foreward to this, and for this I am sorry. Mike

The Prochips have a fin that makes them a rotator. The hotchips do not have the fin and are a flasher. Both of them have echips.

This is what we have. Its 6800 running watts with a 8500 starting watts. It ran our entire house with the A/C on this past summer when we lost electric. We live in the country and have a 200 amp service. Our hot water heater is LP, and we have a 240v well.

Took me a while to figure this one out.....but I got it. You should be all set now! The video player is not connected to youtube. Gold supporting members were blocked from it also. The issue is resolved, and you should be able to access the viewer now. Anyone else having issues with it?
-
 Has it ever worked for you?
-
Do you get a pop up window that asks for a username and password, or do you just get that message?
-
The video player does not work like a dvd player. It has to load all of the video in order. If you skip foreward, you have to wait for the video has to load to where you clicked foreward to. I will look into this. The first thing everyone should see is a log in to access the video player. The username and password it asks for is not your username and log in for the website. EVERYONE needs to use this username and password to access the video player. What do you see when you click on the video player link?
