  1. Nice job Mark! :thumb:
  2. Welcome to the website Eric. Thanks for taking a minute and doing a great introduction! Ask away at the questions! If you need anything, let out a shout!
  3. I have 8 rod reel combo's for sale. Rods: Shimano Talora TLA-80ML-2 Reels: Okuma Convector CV20D(has line counter). These combo's have had very little use and are in great shape. I would like $100 for each combo. I would prefer not to ship. Mike (269)207-8024
  4. I have 3 Big Jon Brutes for sale. They were used approx. 50 times over two season. These downriggers were stored inside the cabin each time I left the boat. I do not have the swivel bases for them. $400 each. I would prefer not to ship. Mike
  5. Nice looking box of fish. Nice job Mark.
  6. "At the peak of the fishery, more than 120,000 salmon were pulled from Lake Huron in one year. Last year barely 3,000 were caught. That's because of major shifts in the food web caused by invasive mussels. The Department of Natural Resources says it now appears the changes are permanent."
  7. Lots of people are finacially worse off today, then they were last year or the year before. Lets face it...the economy still sucks! This could also be a factor in why the numbers be down. How many teams sat out this years event because they did not like the rule change? Even without those teams, they still had 1 more team. I believe its an improvement. A good team will get the bigger fish and should end up at or near the top of the field.
  8. Sorry to keep everyone away from the website today. The Great Lakes Fisherman website was taken offline while the host performed work on the server. This website is one of the biggest websites on the server, which was why it was taken offline while they performed the work. None of the other websites I host were taken offline. Some advanced notice would have been nice, but sometimes things happen and they need to deal with them on the fly. Everything should be zipping along as normal again. Let me know if you have any issues. Mike
  9. Welcome aboard Aaron. The feel of a big king ripping the line out just one time will hook anyone for life.
  10. Great introduction Tom! My fishing on the big lake started back in the mid 70's when I was around 8. I remember the paper graph, sinker/mono tied to a pointer, home made down riggers, and a bucket for speed control. Back then we had short rods that looked like cue sticks and super heavy mono. Thank you for giving us 8 years or your time in the WORLDS FINEST NAVY! Where were you stationed?
  11. Welcome to the website Chad. I moved this post to the Welcome Center. If you need anything, let out a yell!
  12. It looks like everyone had a GREAT time!
  13. Nice job of solo fishing. Please take a minute to update your profile. After you enter your zip code, you will get a 3 day weather forcast and a live radar image on the home page each time you visit the website.
  14. Nice job Andy! Looks like you need a new net.
  15. Thanks for taking a minute and doing an introduction. There is a ton of GREAT information that has already been posted. If you have questions dont be afraid to ask it, even if the question may have been asked before. One of my biggest pet peaves is when someone responds with "use the search feature". If you need anything, let out a yell.
  16. My cables always frayed at the crimp when I had the pro tournaments. I always checked them daily.
  17. They sure grow them big in Lake Ontario. Thanks for sharing the fish porn.
  18. Nice job John!
